Gacha Sovereign-Chapter 1113: Saul Vs Maiah
After getting the plan ready, Alex and the others went toward the teleportation formation as the competition would resume pretty soon.
On another planet, outside Eulja's territory, there was a huge stadium with a size of one kilometer in all directions, allowing God Rank Expert to utilize their entire strength. There were so many people coming, not only the spirits but also the citizens from the entire Eulja territory.
They wished to see the current Spirit God themselves, so they acquired the ticket no matter how expensive it was.
When Alex arrived at that planet, he realized he was inside a small room.
"This is the room behind your seat. We just need to come out of this room and you will find the stadium." She smiled.
Alex nodded and sighed. "Still, to think that Anya rejected me…"
"Haha. She needs to be there to finalize your plan and Aria is helping her. What we need to talk about is why Anya is trying to make that girl seduce you." She narrowed her eyes.
Alex shrugged. "It's Anya. Any other reason?"
"…" Lin Xingzhi sighed since she couldn't help but agree. "I guess we can make Anya one of the wonders of the universe."
"Haha. Despite her playing around the whole time, she keeps thinking about many things. Even I can't understand what's going on in her mind." Alex smiled before looking at the door. "Anyway, let's go."
"Yes." Lin Xingzhi then opened the door for him as the two walked out of the room.
"His Majesty, the Spirit God, is entering the stadium!" Suddenly, someone shouted, informing the others to stay silent for a second.
Surprisingly, the stadium that was filled with screams and cheers turned silent to the point that he could even hear the breeze sound in his ears.
Everyone was lowering their heads if they couldn't kneel because of their positions that were stuck between chairs or kneeling when they had enough space.
Alex looked at the entire stadium with a smile before waving his hand, sending his order. "You may rise."
All the people in the stadium raised their heads, finally looking at their king for the first time. Surprisingly, Alex had become a Rank 4 God despite them knowing that he only reached Rank 5 God in the coronation ceremony.
This kind of speed was worthy of the Spirit God's name.
"It's my joy to see all of you here. However, the star of this tournament is not me but the participants. I am here just to express my gratitude for all of you and I hope the tournament can finish without any trouble." Alex smiled and turned around, walking to his seat and sitting down.
They fell silent for a while before giving a round of applause for Alex before the host shouted.
"We shall start the first match. I invite the two participants to come to the arena."
A blonde-haired young man entered the arena first as he raised his hand with confidence. He was none other than the Winged Lion Spirit, Saul. He seemed to be wearing a gauntlet to channel his immense lightning power.
On another side, a long purple-haired woman entered the stage with a calm expression. The audience seemed to have a bit of a problem with this girl since she was only a Rank 5 God. She could only step on this stage because of Alex's rule.
However, no one voiced their opposition since even someone like Agnis kept his silence when this girl defeated his successor.
"So, they are Saul and Maiah." Alex narrowed his eyes and observed them with his Spirit Eyes.
"Your Majesty." Both of them first kneeled to Alex to greet him before Alex let them continue.
The two stared at each other before Maiah opened her mouth. "I'm Maiah, Thousand Silk Spider."
"Winged Lion Spirit, Saul." He nodded with a flat expression while limiting his power to Rank 5 God to match Maiah.
Both of them turned to the one overseeing this match, William.
"Good. Since both of you have prepared, go all out so as to not shame yourself in front of His Majesty. Don't worry. The barrier is strong enough to withstand your power." William nodded with a serious expression before raising his hand and shouting. "Start."
The two leaped toward each other as their fists clashed.
As one would expect, Maiah lost this one exchange and had her blown away. Not wanting to lose, she stretched her hand to the front, releasing white strings from the tip of her fingers.
Saul avoided it by tilting his head to the left before going toward her.
Every time they clashed, Maiah would leave strings, attaching them to all sides of the arena.
Alex, who was watching her action from above, could see her plan. It turned out she was planning to fill the entire arena with strings, turning it into her nest.
"She did it yesterday and defeated Agnis's successor. It was a good technique for a closed space, but if it were in a prairie, she wouldn't be able to beat him." Lin Xingzhi explained after noticing the change in Alex's expression.
"Is that so?" Alex muttered as he thought he had so many ways to destroy this place.
However, Saul seemed to be waiting for his opponent to finish her move. "Why didn't he attack her?"
"I am not sure, but I think there is some back dealing." Lin Xingzhi frowned before finding something. "Ah, I think I know the reason."
Alex turned around, expecting her to inform him.
She playfully smiled and sent a thought transmission about what was going on.
…
Meanwhile, in the arena, Saul was still trying to catch Maiah without attacking her as if he had some kind of plan. Yet, it never came. Saul kept chasing her until the arena partially turned white.
"I have given you enough time to do this. Now, I need to be serious and defeat you," said Saul with a flat tone.
"No. You better watch out because this is my turf now." She smiled as the pseudo silk she released earlier hardened and turned into a fool fledge string. With how complex it was in the arena, it could be said that she had made this place her nest.
However, Saul was better than this. He remained calm even when facing such adversity. He clenched his fist as lightning began to cover it.
The moment he punched to the front, the lightning burst out and created a torrential spark from his position all the way to the arena's wall, only to be stopped by the barrier.
Obviously, the silk was shredded, and a third of the silk in the arena disappeared because of the attack earlier.
It just showed how each silk actually linked to another side.
"What did you say earlier? Your Turf?" Saul narrowed his eyes. After destroying a third of it, he leaped toward her with the same fists.
But Maiah dodged it by going behind her threat before she pulled them a bit.
When Saul was about to charge at her, she released the string and turned that into a white line that flew out of the string, flying straight to Saul.
"Sharp Silk Blade."
Saul punched the attack without hesitation, shattering it into pieces. But Maiah didn't stop there as she began waving those strings a few times while moving to do it with the other strings.
As she said earlier, this was her turf.
Facing countless sharp energy, Saul began to move around while shattering each attack with his lightning. At the same time, he needed to watch out for her strings since he knew how Agnis's successor lost against her.
A few minutes passed and Saul finally found a way to counterattack.
When she was about to use that string again, Saul smirked and stomped the ground with all his strength, turning the entire arena into a crater. This way, they would be fighting underneath the strings.
Unfortunately, he was too late.
Maiah simply smiled and raised both hands before Saul's movement stopped abruptly as he realized that his body was about to be sliced by strings.
"!!!" Saul looked down and found that his entire body was already covered with strings. "This…"
Without hesitation, Saul released all his lightning to rip the strings in his body apart, but as soon as he did that, Maiah had arrived in front of him, pointing her hand at Saul's neck.
"That's it! Maiah wins!"
"Uoh!" The cheers erupted after William ended the match.
On the contrary, Saul just realized what happened. "Color, huh."
Maiah smiled and nodded. Instead of using transparent silk, Maiah used something that matched the color of the arena, camouflaging it with the entire "nest" that even made this silk harder to find.
"You are strong…" Saul said with a calm expression even though he just lost. "As much as I wanted to say that you win because I'm restricting my strength and this arena is perfect for you to manifest your power completely. This is still my loss."
"Thank you." Maiah politely bowed her head.
"And…" Saul hesitated for a second before asking. "Do you want to be my bride? No, would you marry me?"
"Eh?" Maiah was bewildered as she tilted her head in confusion. She still hadn't shown any expression other than her confusion as it was just too much to take.
"Clan tradition. The first woman who beat me is required to be my wife," said Saul with a serious expression. "I don't want to force you, but this is a tradition. If you think this is too much, can you just stay by my side to know me until I succeed the Earth God position? That way, I can break the tradition and you are free again.
"Someone forced me to lose in this tournament to get a wife, but I didn't like that woman. As for you… You are better." Saul looked at someone who would probably win and meet him in the final with a disgusted face. Yes, it was none other than Raisa.
"You two…" William let out a long sigh. "Maiah… The tradition is real. You can answer him after leaving this arena. We need to move on to the second round."
"Eh, ah, uh, yes!" Maiah never expected to get a confession like this and quickly escaped from the arena with an embarrassed face.
On the other hand, Alex was also baffled by this situation as he turned to Lin Xingzhi. "What's this all about?"
"His tribe is strict about that tradition. But I think he handles it well. Anyway, you don't need to think about it since it's their business unless you plan to get that spider woman as your wife." Lin Xingzhi narrowed her eyes.
"No, not at all." Alex shook his head as a thought appeared in his mind while he recalled the uniqueness of all spirits he summoned with the system. 'As expected, all spirits are weird.'
