Chapter 369: Chapter 308: He Will Make the Best Choice for Her

Sang Luo wrapped her arms around his waist, burying her head against him and saying in a muffled voice, "Okay."

"I’ll take you back." Minos’s Angel Beast Body was tall and imposing. He easily scooped her up with one arm. Sang Luo sat on his sturdy, slender arm, wrapping her hands around his neck. Her gaze fell on his broken wing, and her nose tingled with a fresh wave of sorrow. "Your wing... can it grow back?"

He didn’t say anything.

Sang Luo couldn’t hold back her tears anymore. They fell in big drops, soaking her lashes until they stuck to her eyelids.

Minos enjoyed seeing her ache for him, but he didn’t actually want her to cry her eyes out. He reached out with his other hand to stroke her reddened eyes and said in a low voice, "It can. It just needs some time to heal."

"That’s good." Sang Luo’s tears finally began to subside.

This incident wasn’t part of their contract. Minos owed her nothing. If he really became a crippled Angel because of her, she feared she would feel guilty for the rest of her life, with no idea how she could ever compensate him.

Minos gave the bloodstains on his body a quick wipe-down and changed his clothes, but the wound from the Beast God hadn’t been properly treated yet. Sang Luo had him sit on the bed, cleaned the wound for him, applied medicine, and then wrapped it with several layers of white bandages.

Minos slowly flapped his wings. The bandages on them felt a little awkward, but he quickly got used to it.

"What about Fei Yuan and Quan Jin? Haven’t they come back yet?"

"Quan Jin is still in the Demon Realm. The Phoenix Venerable came back and went to rest in a side hall."

"Are either of them hurt?"

"Don’t worry, they’re fine."

Minos had exhausted most of the Demon Lord’s power, so Quan Jin and Fei Yuan went to help flank and deliver the final blows.

A gray bead materialized in Minos’s palm. "This is a fragment of the Rejuvenation Pearl I got after slaying the Demon Lord’s soul body. You should need this."

"What a coincidence. I just got a fragment of the Rejuvenation Pearl a few days ago. I didn’t expect the Demon Lord to have one too." Sang Luo took the Rejuvenation Pearl fragment and examined it closely. It contained a wisp of a Divine Sense mark left by Minos.

"The Demon Lord wants to resurrect himself and return to the mortal world." Minos frowned slightly as he spoke. "The Lord of the Demon Realm is not from this world. In life, He was an ancient Demon Divine Beast who existed during the God Fall Period. Even as just a fragmented soul body, He’s extremely difficult to deal with."

He continued, "I slew one of His main soul bodies, but I’m not sure if He left other escape routes. As long as He doesn’t have the Rejuvenation Pearl, however, He can never be resurrected."

Sang Luo nodded. "Quan Jin also said the Demon Lord has been lying dormant for ten thousand years and must have left himself a way out. But He’s also been severely weakened. Quan Jin is probably staying in the Demon Realm to deal with this. Some things have to be handled by their own family... If Quan Jin wants to truly control the Void Demon Realm, he has to overcome the hurdle of the Demon Lord himself."

Sang Luo took the other Rejuvenation Pearl fragment out from her space. The moment the two fragments touched, they merged into one. "We’re just missing the last fragment of the Rejuvenation Pearl. Can you trace this one’s timeline?"

"I don’t have the complete Time Law, so I’m not omnipotent. The history of this Soul Pearl is too ancient, and it’s shrouded by the aura of other principles. I could force a trace, but the price would be too high."

"Then let’s forget it!" Sang Luo put the Rejuvenation Pearl back into her space. ’I’ll leave it to fate. It would be great to collect them all, but even if I can’t, it doesn’t really affect me.’

Sang Luo went to check on Fei Yuan again. After confirming he was alright, Minos took her back to the Holy Palace to stay for a while.

The child she was carrying was, after all, an heir of the Angel Clan. When it came to care, no one could compare to her own clan and the meticulous attention of the child’s Beast Father. Fei Yuan had no objections and just reminded her to come back and visit in a few months.

Minos had nonchalantly said his injury wasn’t serious and that his wing would grow back after a period of quiet rest. But almost a month had passed, and Sang Luo stared at his wing every day, yet saw no sign of it starting to regrow. She was terribly worried. ’Could it be that after this, he’ll go from being a Ten-winged Angel to a Seven-winged Angel?’

’A Seven-winged Angel... To make it an even pair, Six-winged or Eight Wings would be better than this.’

’He probably can’t even fly steadily. If other Angels saw him, someone would surely laugh secretly at the great Holy Monarch.’

’He’s definitely not getting enough nutrients!’

That day, after applying medicine to Minos’s wound and changing his bandages, Sang Luo brought over a bowl of freshly made meat congee. She scooped up a spoonful, blew on it gently, and brought it to his lips. "Here, open up. Eat more, and your wing will grow back faster!"

Her loving, benevolent gaze, along with her tone and expression, was identical to how she usually fed the young cubs.

Catching sight of the palace servants out of the corner of his eye, Minos, who had lived for a thousand years, blushed with a rare shyness. "Luoluo, perhaps... I’m not that badly hurt."

"A whole wing is gone and you say it’s not serious? Hurry up and drink it while it’s hot! It won’t taste good cold!"

As Sang Luo spoke, she pushed the spoon closer to his mouth again, pressing it against his elegant lips.

"I’m not so severely injured that I need someone to feed me. I can do it myself." Minos took the congee bowl and spoon from her, getting a taste of what it felt like to be doted on. He found he wasn’t quite used to it.

Sang Luo didn’t insist. She pulled a chair over to the bedside and sat down, watching him obediently finish the congee. "In any case, you’re the patient. This is a special meal I made for you with love, so you have to eat it all up!"

"You made this yourself?"

"Of course! Don’t you have faith in my cooking skills!"

He chuckled and took a mouthful. "No wonder it looks a little different from the meals usually prepared in the palace."

Sang Luo had made a congee with corn, fresh shrimp, red dates, goji berries, and meat. The main point was to pack it with nutrients; she had thrown in all sorts of restorative ingredients. The taste... was honestly a little strange. But thankfully, the ingredients were all top-quality, so no matter how odd, it couldn’t be that bad. Minos finished it all in a few large mouthfuls.

"Thank you, Luoluo. It was delicious."

’I think I could stand to be sick for a few more days,’ he thought.

"What else do you want to eat? I’ll make it for you myself. From now on, I’ll be in charge of your menu for all three meals a day!"

Minos’s fingers, holding the bowl, paused. A smile as warm as a spring breeze graced his incomparably handsome face. "Thank you for the kind thought, Luoluo, but you’re still pregnant. It’s better for you to rest. My injury will heal soon."

"Hmph! You don’t know how good you have it! Not many of my Beast Husbands have eaten food I’ve personally cooked!" Sang Luo said, hooking her arms around his neck and nestling into his embrace.

Minos placed the bowl on the bedside table and, with his other hand, settled her onto his lap. At the same time, he glanced sideways at the few servants waiting in the hall.

The servants’ faces showed nothing as they respectfully withdrew, their hearts full of gossip and having been fed a mountain of "dog food."

’Ever since they returned this time, any discerning person can see that the relationship between the Holy Monarch and Holy Empress has improved a lot!’

’This kind of cloying sweetness is something they’ve only ever seen in newly adult young couples.’

’It’s wonderful, truly wonderful.’

’In the months the Holy Empress was away, anyone could see the Holy Monarch was in a bad mood. And when he’s in a bad mood, he likes to nitpick. The first to suffer were always the Servants in the palace!’

’But as soon as the Holy Empress returned, the Holy Monarch is like a young Male Beast experiencing love for the first time, with all his attention focused on her. They’ve finally gotten some peace and quiet. They want to pray every day for the Holy Monarch and Holy Empress to have a loving and beautiful relationship for the rest of their lives!’
