Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty-Chapter 177 - 121: Soaring Snake Clan Token
"These Abyssal Demon Beasts are the natural enemy of Beastmen. Their origins are bizarre; they can devour a Beastman’s Talent Power. The moment there’s any sign of them, they must be eliminated. We absolutely cannot allow them to spread, or they will bring a cataclysmic disaster to the Beastmen of the East Continent. And once the East Continent falls, it will only be a matter of time before the other continents do as well."
Si Ye added, "As it happens, I’ve also hit a bottleneck in my Cultivation. I’m hoping this will help me break through it. I might even be able to reach Emperor Rank."
Sang Luo’s eyes widened as she stared at him. ’Emperor Rank? Absolutely not!’
A while back, when she was with Ah Ze, Sang Luo had discovered she’d also hit a bottleneck in her Cultivation—she couldn’t refine the power of an Emperor Rank Beastman. Her limit was the Peak of King Rank.
For Sang Luo to reach the Peak of King Rank, she either had to take down two Peak of King Rank Beastmen, or have a child with a Peak of King Rank Male Beast.
Even on the East Continent, Beastmen at the Peak of King Rank were the cream of the crop and few and far between. Not to mention, most of them were old geezers over a thousand years old who already had partners, and their looks and personalities weren’t necessarily to her liking... Running into someone like Si Ye, with his exceptional talent, was a stroke of unbelievable luck. Sang Luo didn’t think she’d ever find another one like him.
’Sang Luo had to figure out a plan, and fast. How could she conquer him and get pregnant before he reached Emperor Rank?’
’That Si Ye... he didn’t seem particularly keen on having children.’
’This was going to be difficult.’
’Oh well. She’d worry about the child later. First, she just had to conquer him.’
Sang Luo was grimy with dust after being battered by the wind all day. Thankfully, no matter how crude the room was, a bath was standard.
After her bath, Sang Luo emerged in a white bathrobe, drying her hair with a towel.
Si Ye was sitting in a chair studying a scroll. Hearing the sound, he lifted his eyes.
The moment he saw her, his gaze froze, and he couldn’t look away.
Sang Luo wore a snow-white bathrobe, its collar revealing her fair collarbones and her long, slender calves. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
She was toweling her hair, the damp, jet-black strands cascading over her shoulders and neck. Her soft, pale cheeks were flushed from the steam, and her eyes shimmered with a captivating allure. A faint, sweet fragrance emanated from her, enough to stir the primal desires of any male Beastman.
"..." As Si Ye stared, his face slowly turned red. The sound of his heart thumping in his chest was loud and clear.
Sang Luo looked at him. "Si Ye?"
"Y-You should rest. I’ll step out for a bit."
He snapped back to his senses and shot up from the chair with a WHOOSH. The scroll in his hand fell to the floor, but he didn’t seem to notice. He turned to leave, but Sang Luo wrapped her arms around his firm waist from behind. "Remember what I said today? I was serious."
The young man’s body went rigid, his handsome face flushing beet-red, but he didn’t pull away. ’There’s a chance!’
Just as Sang Luo was considering her next move, Si Ye’s demeanor sharpened. He spun around, pushing her onto the bed and pinning her hands. "...Wait. Don’t move."
"Hm?"
As Sang Luo took in his scent, she caught a glimpse of a black shadow flashing past the window and faintly heard a scream from outside.
Si Ye wrapped her up in the blanket like a burrito and used his body to block her view of the window. "Just stay here and sleep. Don’t go outside. I’ll be right back."
With that, he waved his hand to set up a barrier and teleported away.
Sang Luo didn’t dare to move. She looked out the window again, but the black shadow was gone.
She released her spiritual power.
The inn, so peaceful and serene during the day, was now littered with corpses both inside and out. The dead were the overconfident Beastmen from the other rooms, those who had come to the Southern region to investigate the truth. Their chests had been torn open, hollowed out by beast-like claws, and their Energy Beast Crystals had all been ripped out.
Nearby stood several Beastmen in black cloaks—likely the Abyssal Demon Beasts Si Ye had mentioned.
The Shopkeeper and the Waiters were long gone. Clearly, they weren’t innocent bystanders.
’How could an inn possibly stay open in such a desolate city?’
Before long, Sang Luo saw one of the black-cloaked figures teleport to the third floor. It stopped outside her door, holding a blood-stained dagger that glinted coldly. It knocked lightly on the wooden door.
"Excuse me, are you two resting? The inn has prepared some late-night snacks and wine. I’ll just come in and place them on the table for you..."
...
Si Ye pursued them outside the city walls. He cut down a Beastman with a single sword strike, and its body dissolved into a puff of Black Qi. He reached out, caught the black Crystal Core that fell, and immediately crushed it in his hand.
In the woods, countless more black shadows lunged at him, but in a flash, he annihilated them all.
"Who are you? Why must you interfere with our plans?" a low, hoarse voice emerged from the shadows, its direction impossible to pinpoint.
"Dead men don’t need to talk."
Si Ye vanished. He instantly located the speaker’s hiding spot, his sword flashing with tyrannical, fiery light!
The Beastman leaped aside to dodge but was still struck in the arm. He instantly transformed into a cloud of black mist and surged toward Si Ye like a Fierce Ghost, trying to engulf him. "You insolent brat! If you’re so eager to die, this King will oblige you!"
"SCREEECH!" A world-shaking phoenix cry tore through the air. The Fire Phoenix set the plains ablaze, instantly illuminating the entire night.
Si Ye soared high into the sky and spat a blazing Fireball from his mouth, which instantly consumed the black mist.
The Beastman was forced back into his true form and fell to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood. Seeing that the tables had turned, he clutched his wounded arm and fled in a panic.
Si Ye landed as well. He was about to give chase but paused, spotting a Token that had been dropped on the ground.
The pattern carved on it was that of a Tengyun Sky Snake... ’The Soaring Snake Clan?’
’How could the Soaring Snake Clan be involved with Demon Beasts?’
"Si Ye!"
Sang Luo had hurried over as well.
Si Ye strode forward and shielded her behind him. "It’s dangerous here," he said in a low voice. "Why did you come?"
Sang Luo placed a hand on her chest, her heart still pounding with fear. "After you left, a Demon Beast disguised as a Waiter tried to attack me. It was instantly killed by the Array you set up, but I was still terrified, so I ran out to find you. When I left the room, I saw... so many bodies..." She grabbed his hand and added, "It’s safer with you."
’She wanted to see for herself just what these Abyssal Demon Beasts were.’
Si Ye stored the Token in his spatial storage and squeezed her hand. "Don’t be afraid."
Sang Luo felt his long, warm hand in hers, and her heart stirred.
Si Ye transformed into his beast form once more, carrying Sang Luo as he soared into the heavens. Against the night sky, the massive Fire Phoenix was like a blazing sun, sweeping away the darkness.
Lying on his back, Sang Luo could overlook the entire mountain forest below.
Countless Star Beasts lurked within, watching them like prey.
These Star Beasts seemed different from the ones she was used to. Their eyes were crimson, their bodies were wreathed in Black Qi, and they roared madly at the sky.
Many frenzied, High Rank flying Beasts launched an aerial assault, their Attack Power immense.
"These are Star Beasts that have undergone forced Demonization."
Si Ye dealt with the flying beasts, then spat a torrent of fire below. Countless Star Beasts were incinerated.
Based on the information he’d gathered, Si Ye had determined that the source of this Demon Beast outbreak was Yun Hua City, in the Southern region.
He brought Sang Luo along, chasing them all the way to the Southern region.
An Energy Barrier shot straight into the clouds, spanning heaven and earth and sealing off the entire area.
Sang Luo had been shocked seeing it from a distance, but up close, she was utterly dumbfounded. An isolating Array of such terrifying size and scale could not have been created by a single person. Even her spatial teleportation was rendered useless.
Si Ye beat his phoenix wings once, and the Array seemed to dissolve, creating an opening just large enough for his beast form to pass through. In a few short seconds, he was through, and the Array sealed itself behind him.
Sang Luo was astonished. "How did you do that?"
"My Phoenix Body has a Talent Power called All Things Breaking."
