From Villain to Cherished: Counter My Role by Pampering Kids-Chapter 34: The Two Little Ones Act
Chapter 34: Chapter 34: The Two Little Ones Act
"Oh, her name is Su Xingwan. She was brought here by Director Chen," said the assistant director.
"I see." Director Li replied, adding, "She has a good appearance and temperament. Her performance just now was quite natural. Let’s give her a better role when we get the chance."
"Alright, I’ll keep an eye on it."
After Su Xingwan’s makeup had come off, it wasn’t good for the camera; otherwise it would have been too obvious. Thankfully, this scene ended here.
The two little ones were still quietly counting ducks in the haystack.
"Eleven ducks, twelve ducks, thirteen ducks..."
They had counted many ducks already, wondering why Auntie hadn’t come to fetch them yet.
"Do you think Auntie forgot about us?" Little Su Hua asked.
"I don’t know." Little Su Luo cautiously moved some hay aside to peek outside.
At that moment, the haystack in front of them was lifted up.
"Auntie!"
The two little ones’ eyes lit up when they saw Su Xingwan standing there.
The two little ones reached out their hands, and Su Xingwan quickly embraced them both.
After a day of acting experience, Su Xingwan’s legs were nearly worn out from running.
Before leaving, Tang Muya came over to see her.
"How was it? Are you getting used to it?"
Su Xingwan smiled and said, "It’s all right."
Tang Muya laughed, "Do you want to come again tomorrow?"
"Yes."
"We want to come too, it’s so much fun!" exclaimed the two little ones excitedly.
Tang Muya smiled and patted their heads. "You won’t find it fun anymore after a few more days."
Su Xingwan made over two hundred bucks for the day.
In the evening, when she got home, Su Xingwan edited the video of her acting experience in Hengdian and posted it online.
Over the next few days, she brought the two little ones to Hengdian at regular times.
Thanks to Tang Muya, she didn’t lack for extra roles.
Occasionally, the two little ones joined her in filming, and gradually they became familiar with the people there.
"Oh, Little Su Hua and Little Su Luo are here again?" The adults were always delighted to see these two little dough balls.
The two little ones were incredibly lovable and adorably cute.
Su Xingwan initially just brought them along to have some fun. But unexpectedly, the two little ones caught the eyes of quite a few directors in Hengdian, who invited them to be regular child extras.
There were few children in Hengdian, and even fewer as young and as adorable as these two.
This meant there wasn’t much competition in this area.
Many directors, too lazy to recruit elsewhere, directly used the two little ones.
Suddenly, a staff member rushed into Director Chen’s office area.
"Something’s wrong, Director Chen. We’ve hit a snag with filming over here."
"What’s the problem?" Director Chen looked up.
"The little actor Su Yan we had scheduled suddenly has a stomachache and can’t come today."
Director Chen frowned, "What’s going on? Didn’t you prepare for this in advance?"
"Director Chen... we didn’t see this coming either. He was here filming a few scenes the other day. If we replace him now, we might have to scrap all the previous shots."
"Also, the leading actor is here today. If the little actor isn’t present, it might upset the lead, and with the investors..."
"Then hurry up and find someone!"
The staff member timidly said, "Where can we find a replacement similar to that little boy now?"
It had taken a long time during the casting to select a little actor to play the lead’s childhood role, and Su Yan was chosen from dozens of children. Where could they find someone now?
"Find someone, no matter what!" Director Chen said angrily.
Then, the assistant director came in, "Director Chen, we recently had a pair of twins come to our crew. They’re pretty and clever, and most importantly, the boy looks similar to our previous little actor. Do you want to give him a try?"
Upon hearing this, Director Chen said, "Then bring him over for a try."
Outside, in the rest area, the two little ones were being playfully surrounded by a group of adults.
At this moment, Director Li came over and said, "Su Xingwan, take your kids to Director Chen now."
Su Xingwan asked, "For what?"
"Don’t worry about it now, you’ll find out when you get there. Aren’t you the one Director Chen brought in?"
"Alright." Su Xingwan assumed Tang Muya had sent someone to get her.
After arriving, Director Chen was surprised to see them, "The little actor Director Li mentioned is your child?"
Su Xingwan smiled slightly.
Director Chen scrutinized Little Su Luo, the more he looked, the more he found him resembling the little actor named Su Yan.
His eyes lit up with delight; if possible, the previous scenes shot wouldn’t have to be reshot.
He had invested a lot of effort into this drama and was meticulous with many aspects of the performance, but today’s slip-up gave him a chance to make amends.
He immediately said to the people around him, "Hurry up and set the scene for the boy to try."
"Yes, Director Chen!"
Su Xingwan was still a bit confused, and shortly after, someone handed her a script.
Director Chen explained, "A little actor in our crew fell ill and can’t make it now, and there’s no one to fill the role. Director Li recommended your child to me."
Su Xingwan was surprised and flipped through it.
There were quite a few lines with several important scenes.
However, she was worried that Little Su Luo might not be up to it for some parts.
Director Chen seemed to notice her concerns and said, "Let him try first; he might just manage."
He was rather tolerant of child actors, as long as they didn’t disrupt the scene too much.
The previous little boy was quite stiff in his acting, honestly lacking the behavior typical of a child.
If it weren’t for his parents being quite popular in the entertainment circle and his looks and temperament matching the male lead, he wouldn’t have chosen him.
When the stage setup was ready, Su Xingwan led the dressed Little Su Luo onto the stage.
There was someone directing him alongside.
But Little Su Luo didn’t understand a word of it.
He just treated it all like a game, the happiest part being he was playing with Auntie.
Little Su Luo, being quite lively, didn’t feel intimidated standing on the stage alone.
He wondered why Auntie wasn’t up there with him.
"Auntie, why are you down there? Aren’t you and little sister going to come up and play with me?"
Su Xingwan smiled, "Auntie is right here with you. Just listen to what the uncle next to you says and do what he tells you, okay?"
Little Su Luo nodded in response.
He was now in a garden within a royal palace.
After the uncle finished explaining, he didn’t know what to do, so he sat quietly, keeping his gaze on Auntie.
Later, the uncle gave him something to play with while sitting there.
Then, the uncle said, "Little one, come on, smile like this with me."
