From Villain to Cherished: Counter My Role by Pampering Kids-Chapter 32: Playing as a Soldier
Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Playing as a Soldier
Su Xingwan was overjoyed.
The happy mood affected the two little ones.
"Auntie, do you have a job now?"
Su Xingwan happily replied, "Yes, I do."
The two little ones said, "Auntie, we’re happy too."
The next morning, Su Xingwan woke up with the two little ones. After getting ready, they happily left the house.
Su Xingwan, worried that the two little ones would be bored on the film set, brought all their toys along.
Upon reaching Hengdian, she found their film crew based on the address Tang Muya provided.
Tang Muya was currently working as a costume designer for the historical drama team under Director Chen.
Seeing Su Xingwan, she smiled and said, "You made it?"
Su Xingwan smiled back, "Yes."
Then she called the two little ones standing behind her, "Hua Bao, Luo Bao, say hello to Aunt Tang."
"Hello, Aunt Tang!" The two little ones obediently greeted.
Tang Muya, looking at their cute appearances, couldn’t resist wanting to give them a pinch.
"My assistant will help look after them for now. Let me take you to Director Chen."
"Alright."
Then, looking at the two little ones, Su Xingwan instructed, "You two stay with this Aunt Zhang for now. I have something to do."
There were quite a few people on set, and without their aunt by their side, the two little ones felt a bit insecure.
Aunt Zhang, a gentle woman in her thirties with children of her own, said to the little ones, "Your aunt will be back soon. Let’s wait here for now."
She held the little ones’ hands and found a spot to sit down.
Aunt Zhang helped them take out toys from their bags and placed them on a table for the kids to play.
Meanwhile, Su Xingwan, led by Tang Muya, entered Director Chen’s resting area.
"Director Chen, this is my friend I mentioned yesterday, Su Xingwan."
Around forty years old, Director Chen turned around, hearing the introduction, to see the newcomer.
The young woman before him had delicate features, willow-like eyebrows, bright and deep eyes, exuding a gentle aura.
He was somewhat surprised, "Tang Muya, are you sure your friend is here to play a supporting role?"
Tang Muya laughed, "Yes. She has no acting experience but currently doesn’t have another job. She also has two kids to raise, so she can only start with supporting roles."
"I see," Director Chen understood.
Then he looked at Su Xingwan and asked, "Miss Su, being a supporting role can be tough. Are you sure you’re ready for this?"
The stunning woman with a lovely demeanor before him didn’t seem like someone who could endure hardships.
Su Xingwan wasn’t sure if she could manage either, but thinking of the two little ones, she steadfastly replied, "Director Chen, I’ll try my best to persevere."
Seeing her determination, Director Chen nodded, "We’re filming a historical drama, a major production. We need many extras for an upcoming battle scene. You’ll simply dress up and follow the other extras."
"Okay," Su Xingwan found it quite interesting as it seemed so simple.
"Xiao Li, take her for makeup," Director Chen called out.
Before long, a young guy came to lead her away.
Tang Muya followed along, "Let me know if you need anything."
"Alright."
After that, the guy took her to the area designated for extras, where numerous extras were either getting makeup and dressed or idly playing with their phones.
Su Xingwan was brought in, and an auntie tossed a dull soldier costume her way.
"Miss, put this on."
Glancing at her, the auntie asked, "You’re new here, aren’t you? Know how to wear it?"
Su Xingwan shook her head.
"Then follow my lead."
Saying this, the auntie demonstrated, and after a quick glance, Su Xingwan found it easy, following through with the steps.
Afterward, the auntie sat her down on a chair, and from a bag on the floor, she pulled out a heap of messy makeup tools.
"Miss, your complexion is too fair, not like a soldier. I’ll make it a bit darker."
The auntie hesitated slightly, with the makeup tools in hand, looking at the beautiful pale face.
"Miss, are you here for your dreams or is this just an experience for chasing stars?"
Su Xingwan replied, "For the two kids and also to feel what acting is like."
As she busied herself with Su Xingwan’s face, the auntie asked in surprise, "Did you get married so young?"
Su Xingwan laughed, "No, they are my older sister’s kids."
The auntie simply said, "Oh."
She didn’t ask any more and continued working on her face.
Su Xingwan asked, "Auntie, what about you?"
The auntie smiled and said, "Initially, it was for my dream of becoming an actor. Now it’s just to earn a living."
"So, how long have you been in the industry?"
Auntie replied, "I’m ashamed to say I’ve been in this for over ten years."
Su Xingwan was surprised.
The auntie chuckled, "Miss, you look nice and seem pleasant. If you work hard, who knows, maybe a famous director will spot you for a proper acting role someday."
Su Xingwan smiled.
"I’ll take that blessing from you, Auntie."
With that, the auntie laughed heartily.
Soon, the fair and lovely face of Su Xingwan became a slim, dark, rough-looking one.
She couldn’t help but laugh at her own reflection in the mirror.
Seeing her optimistic demeanor, the auntie’s mood improved, and she led her onto the set, positioning her among a group of dark-skinned soldiers.
Before them, a battle scene was set against a green backdrop, with many soldiers present, including a few famous actors seen on TV.
A director was in front, directing the scene, as Su Xingwan curiously observed everything around her.
After playing with toys for a while, the two little ones missed their aunt, constantly nagging to see her, leaving Aunt Zhang no choice but to bring them to the set.
"Kids, your aunt is right here."
The little ones scanned the entire set, unable to spot their auntie anywhere.
Little Su Hua wiped her eyes, "Where’s auntie? I can’t see her."
Aunt Zhang pointed to the group of soldiers, "Your aunt is among them, but she’s in costume so you might not recognize her."
She then cheerfully suggested, "You two can have a contest, see who can spot your aunt first."
"Okay! I’m going to find auntie first!"
"I’ll be the first to find auntie, for sure!"
The two little ones were suddenly motivated and began searching earnestly.
Soon, Little Su Hua’s eyes lit up after spotting a familiar figure in the crowd, "Brother! I think I found auntie!"
"Where? Where?" Little Su Luo scanned the area and followed the direction of his sister’s pointing finger.
