Chapter 391: Chapter 366: Meridian Massage for Children

After all this fuss, the car owner was somewhat scared. None of these people, from the old to the young, were to be trifled with. Besides, it had already been proven that the scratches on the car had nothing to do with the chubby kid, and there was surveillance footage as evidence. He could only accept his bad luck.

He sighed and said, "Forget it, let’s settle privately, we don’t want compensation anymore."

Xu Chunliang said, "You want to settle privately just like that? Do you know how much your actions have affected this child? We still have to take him to see a psychologist for counseling."

The chubby kid, with a big heart, was stuffing a bag of potato chips into his mouth, crunching loudly. The police uncle had proven his innocence, and it was really sweet!

Gao Hong Hall knew this grandson was tough, and seeing him like this, didn’t seem to have suffered any psychological trauma. He sighed and said, "We won’t pursue it. Just apologize to my grandson, and we’ll call it even."

The police asked the chubby kid for his opinion: "Little friend, what do you think?"

The chubby kid said while munching on his potato chips, "I’ll listen to my brother-in-law."

Xu Chunliang nearly spat out a mouthful of old blood. So young, and already biting the hand that feeds you? Seeing Gao Hong Hall’s confused look, he quickly said, "Look at him, he’s so scared that he’s calling everyone brother-in-law."

Pu Jian didn’t fan the flames this time: "Exactly, look how scared the kid is. He should go to the hospital for a full check-up, you two come along too."

The two exchanged a glance, regretting it thoroughly. Earlier, Pu Jian said they should donate the BMW here, which seemed all too possible. This chubby kid, with such a big appetite, wouldn’t be easy to feed.

The car owner had softened and repeatedly apologized to them, pulling out three thousand yuan to give Gao Hong Hall so he could take his grandson to the hospital for a check-up. Pu Jian thought it was too little and shouted, asking if he was trying to shoo away a beggar, not asking for nutrition fee or psychological compensation?

The car owner just wanted to settle peacefully now, and with a mournful face, offered another two thousand.

Gao Hong Hall punched the other party, venting his anger. Since his grandson was fine, he agreed to call it even.

It wasn’t appropriate for Xu Chunliang and Pu Jian to make decisions on behalf of the Gao Family, but Xu Chunliang couldn’t stand the guy tugging at the chubby kid’s ear. He had already quietly taken action so that at least that kid would feel pain for three years, and every time it was windy or rainy, he’d remember this feeling. Daring to bully a kid, it’s courteous enough not to break his limbs.

Gao Hong Hall defended his grandson in front of outsiders, but after resolving the issue and they left, he started educating his grandson: "I say, aren’t you a bit too much? Why were you touching someone else’s car for no reason?"

Wang Maite, with his mouth full of potato chips, mumbled, "I just thought that car was beautiful... Maybe Dad can buy one someday."

Gao Hong Hall sighed, thinking, your dad is almost out of a job, and you want him to buy a BMW? He’s even considering driving for Uber.

Gao Hong Hall expressed his gratitude to Xu Chunliang and Pu Jian. Hearing that Xu Chunliang and the others were just passing by, Gao Hong Hall said, "It’s fortunate we ran into you, otherwise this kid would have suffered greatly."

Xu Chunliang said, "Grandpa Gao, there’s no need for such politeness between us. Even if it were a stranger, I couldn’t just stand by and watch a child be bullied. You’ll need to watch him more closely in the future."

Gao Hong Hall sighed, "This kid is quite mischievous. The school teachers are always calling us over. His dad even took him to the hospital specifically to check for ADHD. Intended to take him to the hospital, but my daughter wasn’t willing to—says the child eats and sleeps well, he can’t be sick."

Xu Chunliang waved at the chubby kid, calling him over.

The chubby kid was still focused on his potato chips, and not until Xu Chunliang called his name did he respond: "Brother-in-law, what’s up?"

Xu Chunliang was speechless, and Gao Hong Hall couldn’t figure out why he was being called brother-in-law. Kids say the darndest things, and it shouldn’t be taken seriously. But he knew that his son Gao Xinhua had set his eyes on Xu Chunliang, yet the whole family disapproved. Not that Xu Chunliang was bad, but because the gap between him and his granddaughter was too large.

Xu Chunliang called him over to have a look. According to Gao Hong Hall’s description, Wang Maite was irritable and hyperactive, impulsive and unruly, mentally lax, and hard to control. The school teachers suggested they check if he had ADHD.

Xu Chunliang observed that Wang Maite’s cheekbones were red, his tongue was red with little coating, felt his palms which were noticeably hot, and his pulse was wiry and thin.

This indicated a deficiency of kidney yin and an excess of liver yang. The treatment should nourish yin and quench yang, tonify the kidneys, and calm the liver, which would nourish the liver and kidneys, tranquilize the mind, and enhance intelligence.

Xu Chunliang believed that Wang Maite’s condition was not severe and might not require medication. Massage therapy could bring some improvement; the basic approach is to massage the Five Meridians, including techniques like clearing the liver meridian, clearing the heart meridian, clearing the small intestine, and tonifying the kidney meridian.

The liver meridian point is located on the palm side of a child’s index finger. The method to clear the liver meridian is to push from the root of the finger to the fingertip for 5-10 minutes each time, with a frequency of about 150 times per minute, which can effectively clear liver fire.

The heart meridian is located on the palm side of the middle finger, a straight line connecting the root to the tip of the finger. The technique is to use the fingertip of the thumb to massage from the middle finger to the fingertip, which can clear heat, cool the blood, calm the mind, and ease the heart in children.

The small intestine meridian is located on the ulnar side of the little finger, extending from the root to the fingertip. The patient raises their palm, and the therapist uses the thumb and other four fingers to grasp the patient’s four fingers, exposing the ulnar side of the little finger. Then, use the right thumb to push it from the root to the tip, known as clearing the small intestine. This helps to disperse heat and promote urination.

Strengthening the kidney meridian is on the palm side of the little finger. The massage needs to start from the fingertip to the root, performed in a straight line, known as strengthening the kidney meridian.

All the above techniques are covered under the five-meridian massage. Inward direction is for strengthening; outward direction is for clearing, and different directions have different effects.

Xu Chunliang taught Elder Gao these techniques by the roadside. The five-meridian massage techniques are not difficult. Gao Hong Hall and Xu Changshan have been old friends for many years and have learned some health care methods from him, so they are already familiar with the five-meridian massage. They just didn’t expect such simple methods could help with children’s hyperactivity.

Xu Chunliang patiently guided and corrected his mistakes and also taught him to recognize the Erma point.

The Erma point, also known as two riders on a horse, is located on the dorsum of the hand between the metacarpal bones of the little and ring fingers, from the root of the fingers to two-thirds down the metacarpal to the wrist crease, at the depression.

Massaging the Erma point can warm kidney yang, clear deficient heat, nourish yin, strengthen the kidneys, regulate qi, and dissolve congestion, benefiting urination.

Pu Jian watched from the side, sighing in his heart, truly one daring to teach and the other daring to learn. This old man, after learning, would surely experiment on his grandson at home. But on second thought, it’s just massage; the little chubby boy is sturdy, and nothing serious will come out of it. He surely wouldn’t bear to be too rough on his own grandchild.

Pu Jian returned Xu Chunliang to the Dongzhou Restaurant, and it was already after three o’clock in the afternoon. After a brief tidying up, Xu Chunliang headed to the concert venue for his appointment.

When Xu Chunliang arrived at the scene, he was stunned by the overwhelming crowd—there were way too many people, everywhere densely packed. Looking up at the stadium’s big screen, he saw a large blonde woman with blue eyes. It was only then that Xu Chunliang realized she was the star of today’s concert.

Xu Chunliang didn’t understand English, but his purpose for coming today wasn’t to watch the concert; he was here for Mei Ru Xue.

Mei Ru Xue had sent him a message that she might be slightly late due to traffic, asking him to go in first.

It was Xu Chunliang’s first time attending a concert. At the entrance, he bought some snacks and saw some girls buying flowers, so he bought two stems. It wasn’t that he was stingy—even if he wanted to buy 999 roses, he could afford it now. But considering Mei Ru Xue’s low-key and reserved nature, doing something so flamboyant might embarrass her. Being together is most important for comfort; it can’t be just one-sided comfort. Xu Chunliang had increasingly learned to consider others’ feelings.

Xu Chunliang arrived in the VIP area, close to the stage; a single ticket must not have been cheap. Originally thinking he had arrived early enough, he realized upon entering that more than half of the vast stadium was filled. Roughly estimating, there were already thirty to forty thousand people, conservatively speaking, this concert’s ticket sales must have exceeded ten million, not counting advertisements.

People nowadays have both money and leisure; what’s so appealing about a concert by a foreign woman? It’s completely incomprehensible.

Xu Chunliang quickly realized that those not understanding English songs might be in the minority among today’s attendees.

He waited for half an hour before Mei Ru Xue and Ye Qingya finally arrived leisurely, but there was still plenty of time before the concert started.

Qiao Rulong entrusted this matter to Ye Qingya. Ye Qingya was somewhat helpless. Although she was an Adele fan, the concert was no longer just about the performance due to the involvement of Wang Jiancheng. Especially since Qiao Rulong repeatedly instructed not to inform his sister that Wang Jiancheng would be present, fearing Mei Ru Xue might choose not to attend if she knew in advance it was arranged by Wang Jiancheng.

Ye Qingya and Mei Ru Xue had always had a good relationship. Doing so meant she was withholding information from Mei Ru Xue and indirectly helping Wang Jiancheng introduce them. It might have been fine before, but ever since she learned that Mei Ru Xue had someone she liked and met Xu Chunliang, Ye Qingya felt increasingly uneasy.

Ye Qingya even considered it somewhat unethical to assist Qiao Rulong in this way, constantly hesitating whether to confess the matter to Mei Ru Xue.

But when she reached the seats and saw Xu Chunliang already there, Ye Qingya was at a loss, crying and laughing at the situation. This brother and sister—they were both keeping secrets from each other. Qiao Rulong hadn’t come, and he could never have imagined that the ticket originally meant for him ended up with Xu Chunliang.

Xu Chunliang politely stood up, first greeting Ye Qingya, "Miss Ye, hello, we meet again."

Mei Ru Xue’s gaze at Xu Chunliang was filled with tender affection, and Ye Qingya sighed inwardly, thinking that if she had known, she wouldn’t have come. Now what to do? Soon, Wang Jiancheng would arrive, and hopefully, the two wouldn’t start a scene here.

Mei Ru Xue, somewhat embarrassed, said, "Sister-in-law, I took the liberty of inviting him over; you won’t blame me, right?"
