The family head said apologetically and handed a tael of silver to the young eunuch standing beside the chief eunuch.

The family head and Ye Sheng's chopsticks froze in the air when they heard this.

When the family head heard the chief eunuch, he processed it for a moment, and he gave out a huge sigh.

"I knew the Emperor was understanding to the difficulties of his subjects." The family head quickly turned towards the direction of the imperial palace and bowed.

He glanced to the left and right.

The family head got the chief eunuch's cue and stood up, "We can talk in my study room."

With him, the chief eunuch and Ye Sheng walked into the family head's study room.

"It's safe here to talk." The family head said as he closed all the windows to the study room.

Servants had been instructed to stay far away and guard the surroundings.

The chief eunuch turned over to Ye Sheng and said, "I need you to say the following in the imperial court..."

Ye Sheng's face turned from perturbed to being scared with eyes opened wide at what the chief eunuch said.

He looked out to the window and sighed.
