Fortunate to Have You This Lifetime-Chapter 968 Fishing_1
Chapter 968: Chapter 968 Fishing_1
Alexander watched as half of Purple Summers’s body leaned toward the lake and instantly remembered Hunter Dalton’s words, his heart filled with alarm!
With one hand, he wrapped around Purple Summers’s waist and with the other, he grabbed the fishing rod, the fishing line tensing in an instant. Purple Summers finally breathed a sigh of relief.
With the crisis averted, Alexander couldn’t help but to laugh, "What kind of strength is that, being dragged away by a fish?"
Purple Summers retorted, "The force just now was really strong!"
"Look at that little spirit of yours," Alexander mocked her, firmly gripping the fishing rod as he reeled in, "Let’s see what kind of fish has the nerve to try and drag away my newly wedded wife."
Purple Summers was equally curious, standing by Alexander’s side to watch.
The fishing line grew tauter, and Alexander’s brow furrowed slightly, as the creature in the water was stronger than he had anticipated.
Purple Summers became nervous beside him, cautioning, "Take it easy, don’t break the line... "
As soon as she spoke, the fishing rod jerked violently again, it seemed the fish in the water might even be stronger than Alexander!
Alexander immediately steadied himself, but the muddy ground by the shore was slippery. His feet slid out from under him, and he fell to the ground with a thump!
"Damn!" Alexander cursed in frustration but still didn’t let go of the fishing rod, his body being dragged towards the lake by the fish in the water!
Purple Summers, frightened, hurriedly threw herself over and clung tightly to Alexander’s waist.
Even with the added weight of two people, they still slid half a meter in the slippery mud! Fortunately, they finally stopped—the fish couldn’t drag them further, nor could they pull the fish, resulting in a deadlock.
Purple Summers and Alexander looked at each other, silent for a moment before Purple Summers burst out laughing.
"A fish can drag you away?" Purple Summers squinted her eyes teasingly.
Alexander quickly got up, and in his annoyance, he overexerted himself by yanking the fishing rod with the fishing line fiercely a couple of meters towards the shore. He braced one foot against a stump by the lake edge, pulling the fishing line with leverage.
Purple Summers watched on, her heart pounding, feeling as if the thinning fishing line would snap at any moment.
After a tense standoff, Alexander ultimately prevailed, dragging a catfish at least 3 meters long onto the shore!
Purple Summers was dumbfounded.
"Is that a catfish spirit? It’s so big!" she exclaimed in surprise.
Alexander lifted his arm to wipe the mud from his face, saying coldly, "Good, we’ll just grill it later!"
Once on shore, the large catfish didn’t settle down and thrashed its tail violently. When it leaped up high and fell back into the mud, countless specks flew about.
Looking at Alexander covered in mud, Purple Summers found it amusing yet a bit sympathetic, persuading, "Let it be, it must have lived in this lake for many years to grow so big, that’s not easy... Besides, such a big fish, the meat must be very tough and not taste good, let’s release it back."
Alexander moved forward intending to kick the fish but was stopped by Purple Summers’s laughter, "Alright, don’t be angry!"
Alexander’s frustrated look was simply childlike.
The two of them dragged the catfish back into the water.
The big catfish showed no gratitude. As it left, it flapped its tail excitedly, drenching both Alexander and Purple Summers with wet mud.
Honestly, if it hadn’t been for Mr. Ghost Hayes’s warning that Alexander had done too many harmful deeds, he might have stomped that stupid fish to death!
Covered in mud from head to toe and with no more fish to catch, they went back to bathe.
Perhaps the earlier scene had been too comical, Purple Summers laughed uncontrollably as she showered.
Alexander, embarrassed and angry, pinned her against the smooth wall and kissed her fiercely.
The showerhead poured out water ceaselessly. The bathroom was shrouded in mist, Alexander’s eyes became intense, his breathing grew heavy, and Purple Summers knew that this guy was about to break his promise...
"Don’t..." Purple Summers, her face flushed, weakly pushed Alexander away, "They’ll be here soon..."
Alexander captured her earlobe in his mouth, his voice hoarse, "It doesn’t matter, I can be quick."
...Later, Purple Summers nearly died in the bathroom.
