Fortunate to Have You This Lifetime-Chapter 1054: Trouble_1
Chapter 1054: Chapter 1054: Trouble_1
Alexander Summers laughed, "Not bad, you’ve made some progress in stamina."
Before, you had to sleep until the next morning after we were done, but this time you just took a little nap before waking up.
Purple was already numb to his shamelessness, she glanced around for her clothes, and finally found them in a crumpled heap under the desk, too wrinkled to wear anymore.
Purple complained angrily, "This was a gift from Jane McCain, she made it herself! You’ve ruined it all!"
Alexander seemed to not hear her anger and chuckled, "It’s not bad, tell her to make a few more sets when she has the time."
Purple pinched his face hard out of frustration.
"Such strength, it looks like you’ve come back to life." Alexander, satisfied, teased Purple with a cheerful mood, "Who was it just now sobbing and saying they were about to die?"
Feeling both embarrassed and annoyed, Purple hit him aimlessly, without real threat. Unable to hurt him, she retreated into the clothes and covered her head and face, ignoring him.
Alexander, shamelessly, wrapped his arms around her waist and began kneading, coaxing her playfully, "Purple, say it again for me to hear?"
"You have no shame!" Purple shouted angrily, "Get away!"
The two tussled on the sofa until they heard someone knocking at the door after a while.
Alexander covered Purple properly with his own clothes, then got up to answer the door, and afterward Purple faintly heard Zack Wallace’s voice.
The door was quite far from the sofa, and their voices were low, so Purple couldn’t hear clearly. She only caught a few words intermittently, "there’s been an accident," "the police have been called," and so on.
When Alexander came back, he held a brand new set of women’s clothes in his hand.
He placed the clothes on the sofa, bent down to kiss her and said, "There’s been a little trouble outside. I’m going to take a look. I’ll be back soon."
Purple felt uneasy and clung to his sleeve reluctantly, "There won’t be any danger, will there?"
She was worried someone might come looking for trouble with Alexander.
Alexander couldn’t help but laugh.
"It’s a guest who had the incident; it’s got nothing to do with me." He ruffled Purple’s hair and left.
Purple felt slightly reassured.
Today was Christmas Eve, and everyone was out on the streets celebrating. The more festive it was, the more hidden dangers there were. If something had happened in the casino, it was only right that Alexander would go to take a look.
On second thought, she considered that if it were a common accident, the manager would be able to handle it; the fact that Alexander was alerted must mean it was something serious.
As Purple changed into the new clothes, pondering, she realized the outfit consisted of a white long-sleeved blouse on top, and a black straight skirt on the bottom—it couldn’t be more conservative.
Purple felt torn between laughter and tears, thinking she was just short of wearing a nun’s dress.
She sat briefly in the office, thoughts of Alexander making her restless and unable to calm her mind.
Purple went to the door, opened it, and seeing the bodyguard standing outside, she asked, "What did Zack Wallace come to say earlier?"
The bodyguards were startled to see Purple!
Of course, they recognized Purple!
But they never in a thousand years expected the lady in the purple dress from the office to be her!
It was one thing to come looking for Master Xander, but why wear a mask? Was it for added flair?
And to think, Master Xander wasn’t cheating after all...
There was a slight sense of disappointment in their hearts. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
"Is it that you can’t say, or you don’t know either?" Seeing that neither of the bodyguards were answering, Purple’s brow furrowed in suspicion.
The bodyguard hurriedly said, "Ma’am, a guest attempted suicide by jumping off the building. There are a lot of people inside and out today, and Master Xander is worried about an incident occurring, so he went to check it out."
"Jumping off the building... suicide?" Purple’s face changed slightly.
The bodyguard’s tone was quite casual, "Maybe they lost too much. Things like this aren’t rare. Some gamblers get desperate; they can stake their houses and wives and end up losing everything. Realizing they can’t pay off their debts, if they then face some provocation, they can quickly resort to the extreme..."
Purple’s head buzzed.
Suddenly, she remembered another matter—Yolanda’s ex-boyfriend, Sheldon Fowler, had once attempted suicide by jumping from Walker Entertainment City...
