Chapter 1049: Chapter 1049: City That Never Sleeps_1

The winter sky was vast and lofty.

The yacht under the blue sky was like a huge white bird, its forehead wearing a golden crown, glittering brilliantly as the warm sun shone upon it.

Purple Summers stood leaning against the railing, a gust of wind blew by, carrying with it the moist air from the river, seemingly wetting her hair and skin.

She slowly exhaled a breath of mist, feeling that the winter in Clearwater was indeed much gentler than in Kingsley.

When she got to Pearlpoint, would she even be able to feel winter at all?

The crew was busy moving luggage back and forth.

Purple’s own belongings were not many; anyway, Alexander would certainly prepare all the clothing and supplies she needed.

But Jane McCain was particularly extravagant, with a full three large suitcases all to herself.

There was plenty of space on the yacht, so Purple wasn’t bothered by how much luggage Jane brought, but she couldn’t help but be curious. They were just going to Pearlpoint for a few days, so why bring so much stuff?

"Janie, what do you have in your suitcases?" Zara Jameson asked, curious.

Zara had only one suitcase and an additional shoulder bag.

Ryan Wesley had even less, just a backpack.

"Clothes," Jane replied, "makeup, computer, charger, odds and ends."

"What about this suitcase?" Zara pointed to another suitcase.

"That one’s also filled with clothes."

"And this one?" Zara pointed at another suitcase.

Jane laughed, "This one is a secret! I can’t let you see it now. When we get to Pearlpoint, I’ll let you have a look!"

Ryan Wesley hopped in front of the suitcase, pretending to open it: "What’s so mysterious that I have to take a sneak peek."

"Ryan Wesley, are you crazy?" Jane feigned anger, rushing over to hold down the lid of the suitcase and glaring at Zara, "Zara! Aren’t you going to do something about him?!"

Zara covered her mouth and laughed: "He’s free-range, I’ve never managed him."

Purple was slightly surprised, glancing at Zara.

Previously, when Ryan and Jane messed around, Zara would be particularly silent, in a very deliberate way, as if she felt they were a couple and her speaking would only ruin the atmosphere.

Unexpectedly, Zara was now joining in on these jokes.

Presumably, having made their feelings clear to each other, they felt more confident.

Thinking this, Purple was happy for her friends and said, "Let’s go inside, the wind is strong out here."

This trip was also planned with Aria Jackson and Allen Rivera, but those two were busy with work and only had a day or half a day off, so they couldn’t join them for a vacation in Pearlpoint.

Purple had been a bit worried because, consequently, it would be her and Alexander together, Zara and Ryan together, and Jane alone, which seemed like it might be an awkward situation.

However, Jane seemed unconcerned and was still playing and messing around with Zara and Ryan as usual.

The yacht was luxurious, with a full range of entertainment facilities. The four of them gathered to play poker, billiards, and occasionally enjoy the scenery. The long journey wasn’t boring at all.

By the time they arrived in Pearlpoint, it had already become night.

The endless darkness enshrouded the world.

Jane called out excitedly, "Quick, look outside!"

The evening breeze was chilly, but the coastal scenery shimmered like a blazing fire—

Skyscrapers stood along the shoreline, with their lights brightly illuminating a whole area, with a giant Ferris wheel turning slowly, its towering spires overflowing with luminous color.

It was the most bustling city that never slept, Pearlpoint City.

Purple was actually very unfamiliar with this city, but because Alexander was here, she felt warmth in her heart, a longing to settle down here with him and join hands for a lifetime.

Jane opened her third suitcase, happily announcing, "Here, these are gifts for all of you! One set each, personally designed by me—makeup and evening gowns. Merry Christmas!"
