Chapter 201: I want to see your blood

Theo’s POV:

This is the first time someone is alive for more than a minute after physically assaulting me. Even when I was in the deep abyss, I never gave up pride. I managed to get back at all the Shadow creatures who troubled me.

The Nephilim clan was very much impressed by my valor that they offered me their powers and released me from the abyss. But now, I am obligated to lose my dignity in front of this lame prince!

"Prince Darius," my fake father Samuel shouted. "You can’t abuse my son like this! I will tell his highness about your cruelty!"

"Lord Samuel," Darius shouted while he was still grabbing my neckline. "Pray to the Holy Aiden that the King doesn’t behead you for the treason you committed!"

I waved my finger when Darius was not looking at me and signaled Samuel to back off. He doesn’t have to get too involved in this act. This only concerns me!

Then Darius looked over his shoulder and faced the loyal slave Edwin. "Bring the chain whip now!"

Chain whip?! He is just trying to scare me with a chain whip. He doesn’t have the balls actually to hit me!

I peeked at Celestia again, who was anxious. She thought that it was completely unnecessary to hit me! This is her subconscious mind speaking to her. Since she cares for me deep down, she is not going to let Darius hit me.

Edwin bought a chain whip that was made up of silver metal. I was glad that it didn’t have thrones on them.

If I get hit with the throned whip, then it would prick my skin and make me bleed. When they see my Silver blood, then my cover would be entirely exposed. At least now I have a chance of saving my cover!

Darius got the whip from Edwin and twisted it a little. My eyes were fixed on my love—while I felt the first blow strike me on my shoulder.

It didn’t even hurt me that much—as my focus was completely on Celestia. Her blue eyes were feeling sorry for me.

Then the lame prince pulled my dark-hair and made me look at him. "How many times should I have to warn you to not look at the Dawn?"

His next blow hit my arm a little harder than before. Still, it was not enough to actually cause me pain. I don’t think anyone except Celestia is even capable of causing me pain.

All the others might have physically hurt me—but Celestia had hurt my heart and my soul! That pain is the worst I have ever felt. I daily pray to the Goddess Selene that I should never experience pain like that ever again!

"Come back to your actual form, trickster," he yelled at me.

"But... this is my actual form—" I replied timidly and acted like I was scared of him.

He was about to hit me again, but he stopped when he heard my love scream.

"Darius, that is enough! Stop hitting him," Celestia shouted and came near to us. "You can’t bring out the truth by beating him."

"Yes, I can," Darius shouted back at her. " And why are you stopping me now? He is our mortal enemy, and he needs to be reprimanded!"

"But we don’t know that for sure," she said.

My lover’s thoughts were so much different than her words. In her mind, she was a hundred percent sure that I am Silver Shadow—but she said that just to make Darius stop hitting me. I knew that her subconscious mind would make her stop hurting me!

"Celestia, please don’t tell me that you are still in love with this trickster. Is that why you are stopping me?"

"No! Not at all. I am not in love with this dark-haired man or—" she paused and looked at me.

"What is your name?" she asked me.

Only then did I realize that I still don’t have a fake name for my fake identity. Everyone here knows me as Samuel’s son—and since I am considered a Half-Mage, no one cared about asking my name.

"Elvin! My name is Elvin," I blurted out.

Celestia then glared at Ivory and raised her eyebrows. "I don’t know your name either," she said.

"I am...." Ivory halted and started to think.

Come on, Ivory! Say out a random name now. Or else they might catch us.

But Ivory was taking forever to come up with a name. ’Just tell her that your name is Evelyn,’ I whispered in her mind.

Then Ivory shouted, "Evelyn! My name is Evelyn."

Holy Aiden! For this long, she told me to be careful, and now she is the one who is blowing up the cover.

’I am sorry, Theo! I couldn’t come up with a name,’ she whispered back in my head.

This is great! Now Darius and Celestia are more suspicious than ever. But this is not Ivory’s fault. Samuel is the reason for this.

He introduced me to everyone just as his son, but he failed to introduce us by a fake name. But the Faes weren’t interested in knowing about us either as they assumed that we were Half-Mages.

The loyal dog Edwin who was silent for this long, came forward. "Guys, I know how to bring out the truth from him," he said.

Is he going to bring out the truth from me? I wanted to laugh out loud. But he determinedly took out his bronze dagger from his sheath.

"Give me your hand now," he instructed me.

"But why?" I asked him even though I already knew the reason for that.

"I want to see the color of your blood! If you have red blood, then you are not Silver Shadow."

Who would have thought that Edwin was even capable of thinking shrewdly? If I don’t give my hand now, I will be proven guilty. If I give my hand, then I will be caught.

"Give the dagger to me," Darius said and snatched the weapon from Edwin’s hand. "I will do the deed of unmasking the trickster."
