Forever Destined to the Silver Shadow-Chapter 154: The mistake you didn’t make....
Theodore/Silver Shadow’s POV:
The Siren girls were waiting for me on the seashore of the Selene Kingdom even before I reached there. Their alluring eyes lit up in delight when they saw me.
"Theodore," a young Siren girl squealed and got closer to me. She appears to be new! Then I realized that a lot of them in the crowd were unfamiliar to me. It seems like many young girls have entered the Siren kind during my absence!
The whole island looks different to me. Well, I wasn’t here for thousands of years, so I can’t expect everything to remain the same!
What infuriated me the most was the bright sunlight above me. After living an eternity in the darkness, it is not very easy to get my eyes adjusted to the bright lights.
"I am your biggest admirer!" the young Siren who was standing in front of me said. "I grew up listening to the great stories of you."
I smiled a little and stared at her pale blue eyes. Immediately my mind thought about her. They took her away from me again! Those lame Fathomless warriors must be now brainwashing Celestia.
I wonder what colorful lies they are saying to her right now. They think that they can separate her from me by manipulating her with lies. But that is not going to work. She is mine! She only belongs to me!
"Theo," I heard a familiar soothing voice. It was Cynthia! She embraced me in her arms and gave me a warm hug. "What took you so long to come back to me?" she asked me that question in a whisper.
I didn’t respond to her as I was still mad at her. She is one of the reasons why Celestia died! If Cynthia had stopped her from going to the forest of light, then she would have never died. My blood began to burn as I recalled that day.
She stepped in the Holy Fire even after I warned her not to do it. She willingly sacrificed her life and offered it to the God of Fire. How much she must have suffered when the fire consumed her body?!
"Theo, calm down," Cynthia comforted me just when I was about to get hyper. "It is all past, and you can’t do anything about it."
"How can I calm down?" I yelled out so loud that all the Siren girls in the crowd gasped at my rage. "She was burned alive! How would you feel when a part of yourself burns down in the Holy Fire?"
Cynthia then glimpsed at the crowd, who were now watching us oddly. "Theo, how about we talk about this once we get back to the Sapphire Castle?"
"Fine," I sighed out. "Let’s go."
She dislikes when I argue with her in front of her girls. She always wears a graceful mask and shows off to others that everything is fine. This island might have changed, but Cynthia is still behaving as she did a thousand years ago.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The interior designs of the Sapphire castle were not changed a little. The roof and the floor still had the same shades of blue and white. I was relieved that at least the castle is the same as it was before.
Cynthia took me to her private chamber. She usually doesn’t allow anyone else inside here. But I always have a free pass as she treated me like her son.
I was stunned when I got into her chamber. The walls were still blue and other than that, everything else in the room was different. There were a lot of books in the racks that were in the corner of the room.
"Did you spend the last thousand years reading?" I mocked her.
"Yes," she responded and made me sit down on the comfortable blue settee that was in the centre of the room.
She then sat beside me and began to talk. "Listen to me, Theo! I know that you are mad at me for letting her go. But you need to know that I had no other choice except that."
I grunted and said, "You had only one job to do. And that was to look after Celestia in my absence! Still, you failed to do the one little job that I gave you."
"But Theo, she threatened me that she would slay me if I stood in her way. For Selene’s sake, her Angelic powers got unleashed! Just think what would have happened to me if I had tried to stop her."
I refused to acknowledge her statements. Because what she says is half-truths. "Celestia would never hurt others. She is an Angel! "
She rolled her eyes at me and said," You are entirely wrong about her. She was going to hurt Ivory and me! That is why I had to let her go. And why are you even blaming me now? I am not the one who created the Holy Fire and instructed her to sacrifice herself."
Her justification made me realize who really killed Celestia. The lame King Oberon did it! He was the one who committed all those sins and drained the force of light. Then he used Celestia as the sacrifice to wash away her sins!
She didn’t have to die. She didn’t do anything wrong. She is pure and innocent! Still, she fell into the Holy Fire and gave up her life for that evil Oberon!
Now that I think about it, I realize that it is partly my fault too! I should have never left her alone in the Celestial Realm. When the prey is alone, the predators come to pry on the innocent prey! That is what happened to her.
When Celestia freed me from the dungeon of the Highland Castle, she begged me to take her with me. But I didn’t listen to her. Why didn’t I listen to her? She would have been alive if I had taken her with me to the Shadow Realm.
I spent the last thousand years in the abyss of torment, regretting the foolish decision I made. How am I ever going to forgive myself for letting Celestia die?
Cynthia clasped my hand and comforted me. " Theo, please calm down! You are not the reason for her death. Don’t be so hard on yourself for the mistake you didn’t make!"
