Chapter 130: I have never lied this much before...

Celestia’s POV:

I got filled with dread after he left the room. Why would he bring Father Oberon here to release me? Why can’t he do it by himself?

I planned to attack Darius immediately after he releases me and go down to the dungeon and free Theo. I can’t stick with that plan anymore. I definitely won’t be able to attack my father.

I have idealized that man my whole life! Even though he is an immoral person, my heart still respects him. Or maybe I don’t have to run to the dungeon right after they free me. I should wait for the right moment! When something is done at the wrong time, it always fails!

My father beamed at me when he got in my room along with Darius. " My child, I am glad that you have finally understood the truth. I prayed to Holy Aiden for so many days that you should break free from your illusions soon. Finally, he made it come true."

I smiled back at him vaguely as I didn’t know how to respond to him. He then touched my dead rock chain and said," I am sorry for making you suffer this much, Celestia. I was obligated to confine you like this. I hope that you know better by now."

He acknowledges me! I didn’t expect him to believe me this soon.

"Please forgive me for my past mistakes, Father," I said in a fake gloomy tone. "From now on, I will obey every one of your commands."

He gave me a warm smile, and he stepped forward to remove my chains. But Darius interrupted my father.

"You can’t just let her free now. Celestia should take another oath and promise you that she will forever be loyal to you. If she refuses to take the oath, then we should not free her," Darius implied.

No!!!! Why would he suggest something like this to my father? I can’t take another oath and break it again. Daviana told me that breaking oaths always brings out negative consequences.

So far, I have broken more than two vows. I don’t know what will happen if I break another one. I gazed at my father and Darius calmly. I should not show any reluctance in my face.

"Darius, you still don’t trust me?" I asked him in my bleak voice.

He shook his head multiple times and said, " I do trust you, Celestia! But it is always good to pledge your allegiance beforehand. And if you have really changed, then you wouldn’t have a problem with taking another oath."

Oh my! I can’t protest against taking an oath. I don’t want to raise any suspicion now. If I do, then they probably won’t release me. But I also can’t have another broken vow on my list! What am I going to do now?

Father Oberon frowned at Darius and shouted out, "What you said was not right, Darius."

Darius was taken aback by my father’s sudden rage. He might be intimidating to others, but he never argues with Father Oberon directly.

"Father," Darius mumbled timidly and clasped both of his hands together. "We captured Silver Shadow with very much difficulty. If Celestia attacks us and frees Silver Shadow, then all our efforts will go to waste. Please think about the threat that will come to us after that. We have to think twice before taking such a big risk!"

Father Oberon’s rage reached its peak as he heard his statements. "Stop it," my father roared out like a wild Manticore. "Don’t say another word for Aiden’s sake. Celestia has finally confessed her mistake, and she is free from her illusions. You can’t pressure her into taking another oath."

"But Father, you can’t -"

"You don’t have to justify yourself anymore, Darius," my father interrupted and silenced him completely. "Celestia might have made a lot of mistakes in the past under the influence of that trickster. But I don’t remember her lying to my face even for once. She always spoke the truth openly even when she was against me."

He then turned to me and grinned at me again. "I have faith in your words and you, Celestia! I know that you are not capable of lying to your father."

It got difficult for me to maintain eye contact with him after that. Does he seriously still trust me? Should I feel happy or guilty about it?

He then undid the knots of the long grey chain and freed me from the restraints. The gush of energy began to flow throughout my body as soon as I got released. My flames are back!

I am finally free! Now I can attack anyone who comes in my way and rescue Theo. But I can’t do that now. I reminded myself that this is not the right time!

I knelt on the ground in front of my father and bowed my head down that it almost touched the ground. "Thank you so much for believing in me, Father."

" I am glad to have you back, My child. It is not too late for you now! You can still fulfill your actual purpose and be the protector of our realm."

I got back to my feet after that and eyed my father determinedly. "Father, I will definitely fulfill my purpose of protecting everyone in this realm. I will not let anyone down!"

"I know you will, Celestia. You are an Angel, and I have faith in you."

Why does he keep on saying that he trusts me? It would be good if he stops saying that, at least for now. Or else I will be overwhelmed with guilt!

"From tomorrow, you are going to resume your duties," he went on. "You will start training the Fathomless warriors on the cliff like you used to do before. Now that you have unleashed your Angelic powers, it would not be difficult for you to do that."

"Sure, Father! From now on, I’ll try to be the daughter that you need me to be."

This is the worst day of my life! I have never lied this much before. I hope that a day like this never comes again.
