Chapter 76: Chapter 76 Aren’t They Cute? (Extra)

Teacher Luo hurried back with his team when the Giant Albino Panda was sitting on the platform, happily munching on bamboo.

Chen Ying examined the panda from top to bottom, claiming he was creating a mate-seeking profile for it, in order to help find its other half throughout the country.

With nothing but a girlfriend on its simple bear mind, just like its Deva Dog sister, life was about nothing more than eating and making babies.

“Listen, you giant pandas don’t even have any precedents of male rearing, do you? You’re so eager to find a girlfriend, and you want her to be gentle and patient. Don’t you think your standards are too high?”

The Giant Albino Panda stuffed a mouthful of bamboo leaves and answered while eating.

“I don’t think so. My mother was very gentle and patient. Look at me, she raised me and only let me leave when I grew up. I also want to find a mother bear like her to have babies with.”

Thinking of the Panda Mother, Chen Ying figured he might understand how Mama Bear’s Buddhist-like temperament was cultivated.

With an eldest daughter like Mendun’er, a son like Baihua, and a prematurely rebellious younger son, it would be impossible to survive to this day without adopting a Buddhist-like attitude.

After collecting the Giant Albino Panda’s body measurements, Chen Ying saw that Teacher Luo’s team had arrived and invited the four of them upstairs to rest.

Teacher Luo didn’t dare to come up, as a gentle slap from an adult giant panda could send him straight back to the drawing board.

The two younger members of Teacher Luo’s team were braver.

Protected by Chen Ying, the male team member nervously drew blood from the Giant Albino Panda and then hastily fed it a bowl of milk.

The Giant Albino Panda had never tried this stuff before and hesitantly took a taste but seemed disdainful.

“Sesame said this was tasty, and mama said it’s sweet, but I don’t like it. This is better.”

It scooped up an apple with its paw and crunched away, not sparing even the core.

Who knew there were pandas that didn’t like milk?

That was an eye-opener.

Chen Ying was going to mix in some honey, but thought better of it, deciding not to reveal all the good stuff at once.

After eating bamboo and fruits, the Giant Albino Panda ambled down the stairs, waddling around the storage room before slapping the door open and yawning as it walked.

Inside, it took a fancy to a wooden platform that happened to be empty.

The large creature sprawled directly on it, stretching out and falling into a deep slumber.

Chen Ying hadn’t even had a chance to exchange a few words with Teacher Luo when his phone rang.

It was a call from the breeding research base; they wanted to send someone into the mountains to collect samples from the Giant Albino Panda and asked Chen Ying if he could guide them to find the giant panda.

Chen Ying switched his phone to video call mode, entered the storeroom, and aimed the camera at the Giant Albino Panda sprawling on the wooden platform, fast asleep.

“This guy came to me early in the morning for food and drink. Teacher Luo from the rescue center has already drawn its blood and collected samples; you can share the data.”

Even a panda can’t have too much blood drawn.

The other party agreed promptly, saying they would contact Teacher Luo and work together on the project.

This was no concern of Chen Ying’s anymore, after all, he was just a simple veterinarian, even though he had developed the side business of matchmaking and fiber protection. The other two-legged beasts didn’t need to know about that, right?

While the Giant Albino Panda was asleep, he took several close-ups, including its limbs, paws, and teeth.

Seeing Chen Ying directly handling its mouth, Teacher Luo’s hand on the doorframe trembled.

Dr. Chen must be born in the year of the Tiger.

“Teacher Luo, let’s keep this panda here for now. Whatever materials you need, let me know, and I’ll try to bring them down to you.”

The emergency station only had basic medical equipment, mostly for treating wounds and saving lives, and actual research still required a trip down to the lab.

“That’s fine; I won’t hold you up. I’ll have Little Chen contact you.”

The slightly braver one was also surnamed Chen, a bit older than Chen Ying, but he pronounced “Brother Ying” crisply and clearly, without a trace of vagueness.

Chen Ying relaxed his whole body after the spirited quartet left and even thought about squeezing in with Great Bai.

He barely managed to keep awake as he stepped out of the storeroom, then proceeded to stroke the two snoozing in their nests. Chen Ying set up the recliner and took the opportunity to rest with his eyes half-closed.

Having slept for over two hours, I felt refreshed and stretched lazily, ready to make something simple to eat.

Just as I was getting ready to start cooking, I saw Monkey Mother come over with Little Monkey.

I hadn’t seen them for several days, and Little Monkey had grown a bit.

Arriving on the deck, Monkey Mother foraged through the pile of bamboo branches for fruit, holding them carefully and nibbling with small bites.

Little Monkey, however, frolicked everywhere, even climbing onto Chen Ying’s head wanting to pick lice out of his hair.

I sliced half a tomato and let Little Monkey hold it and lick it to one side while I quickly mixed the stew seasonings with water, throwing in all the salted meat and vegetables to cook together. Only then did I reach out to lift Little Monkey and join Monkey Mother.

“Why did you come by yourself with the kid today? Where’s Brother Monkey?”

Monkey Mother continued eating fruit and pointed in the direction from which they had come, making two chirping sounds.

“You mean some bad guys injured the elder monkey and Brother Monkey went to take revenge?”

Monkey Mother nodded obediently and then pointed at Little Monkey and then at herself.

“Chirp chirp, it’s small, easily hurt, so come, find you.”

True, if such a cute little creature got hurt, it would break my heart.

(With a baby like me, would you still bother looking at other monkeys? o(╥﹏╥)o)

Chen Ying took out the bamboo shoots prepared for the giant panda, broke off the tenderest tips, cut them into small pieces, and handed them to Little Monkey.

Little Monkey took a bite and hummed happily, nestling in Chen Ying’s embrace and gazing up at him expectantly, wanting more.

In the grand scheme of things, cute creatures are most important.

Chen Ying indulgently cut more fruit and held and hugged Little Monkey. After all, with those big watery eyes looking at him, even Vajra would turn soft.

Monkey Mother glanced at them both before swiftly leaving.

Little Monkey wasn’t worried about its mother at all, eating until its mouth was dripping with juice, and its little paws quietly clutched onto Chen Ying’s trousers.

Not seeing Monkey Mother for a good half of the day, Chen Ying’s accessory for the day was Little Monkey, who followed him everywhere, unable to be let go of.

Jinya woke up and saw this, showing her teeth in annoyance.

Little Monkey was scared of her and quickly burrowed into Chen Ying’s jacket, then after a while, popped its little head out timidly to look at Jinya.

Jinya felt aggrieved, Jinya restrained herself from crying!

Little Jin felt sorry for her, hugging Jinya’s fluffed-up head and avidly licking.

Chen Ying wanted to comfort her, but he couldn’t ignore Little Monkey either. As he neared Jinya, Little Monkey would tremble in his embrace, truly a sweet burden.

Thankfully, before the sky darkened completely, Monkey Mother returned, bringing Brother Monkey and several injured big monkeys.

Business at the doorstep, a reason to rejoice!

After returning Little Monkey to its mother, Chen Ying guided the injured monkeys into the emergency room.

Trimming fur, cleaning wounds, disinfecting, and applying medicine.

A young monkey, scared of the pain, instinctively tried to scratch Chen Ying but was slapped away by Brother Monkey standing guard. It immediately settled down.

After the medicine was applied, I called the monkeys to eat a meal, and only then did they leave together.

Before leaving, Brother Monkey tugged at Chen Ying and said that in Huaqiu Valley, they saw some two-legged beasts come and stay one night, then leave early the next morning.

When questioned what those two-legged beasts were there for, the monkeys didn’t know. Anyway, the two-legged beasts came and went without being seen carrying anything.

Just to be safe, Chen Ying sent a message to Yin Li, reminding him to keep an eye on that area.

After the monkeys had left, Chen Ying went to check on Jinya’s cat nest.

He looked up to meet two gleaming yellow-green eyes, and his heart rate instantly soared to 150.
