Chapter 970: Chapter 540: Soul Hanging in the Bathroom

Durken rolled his eyes at it and said with annoyance, "You know your sense of humor is wicked, so why don’t you change it? Now you even dare to mock us."

When Durken had just been resurrected, he maintained superficial courtesy towards it, calling it with honorifics all the time.

But as Negriss’s pranks became more and more frequent, it became increasingly difficult for Durken to remain polite with it, and now he would easily snap at it, argue, or roll his eyes at it, all out of frustration.

Anthony was the same.

Without a second thought, Negriss refused, "No way, this is my only fun, I can’t change it. If I can’t tease you guys, what’s the point for me?"

Kvada, now unable to hit or out-talk others, each of them having tongues as sharp as lightning, the only enjoyment left was his wicked sense of fun in messing with people, and he’d die before he changed that.

Durken rolled his eyes at it without good spirits, challenge it to move its body away from Ange and then see if it could tease people, to see if everyone wouldn’t tie it up and stuff it in a box.

Without a doubt, Ange was messing with people, or rather, was testing things out. This was his first time encountering an opponent whose casting speed could barely keep up with his own, and he wanted to test the opponent’s limits, but unexpectedly, the opponent had resorted to using a prop so quickly.

Twenty-four Shadow Arrows did indeed exceed Ange’s limit, as he could currently cast at a rate of about twenty per second. However, the incoming Shadow Arrows were still countered one by one because he had four Spirit Touches at his disposal.

Seeing the twenty-four Shadow Arrows being defused one by one by Ange, Hayden stood there stupefied, muttering, "How could this be? How could this be? How could you be faster than me? How could this be?"

Not counting the four Spirit Touches, he also saw Ange cast twenty Holy Light Missiles. This was already overwhelming him. Normally, his highest casting frequency was only twelve, and the previous onslaught was him tapping into his potential. Who really was the turret here?

Hayden used to be somewhat smug about this nickname, but now he found it somewhat grating.

With both hands, he wiped out another series of Shadow Arrows, "If you’re that fast, I don’t believe you can last, how long can you keep this up? How long!"

A relentless barrage of Shadow Arrows thundered towards his target, and after a minute, Hayden was exhausted, stopped abruptly, and crashed to the ground.

Ange, failing to stop in time, shot out two Holy Light Missiles, and upon realizing there was no longer a target, he hurriedly stretched out his hand and defused the missiles in midair.

Around him, there were still about twenty Holy Light Missiles circling. This was him slowing down, but still, it was inevitable that a few extra would be created.

The collapsed Hayden scattered into a formless state, leaving behind only a Soul Heart that fell to the ground, weakly exuding the Breath of Death.

Ange walked over and poked it, looking somewhat bewildered towards Negriss and the others.

After retracting the Guardian Barrier, everyone gathered around.

Negriss spoke with disbelief, "He... fainted? Are you kidding me? He’s an Undead."

Durken, Anthony, and the just-returned Feiti exchanged looks, "Can Undead... faint?" ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

Everyone felt it was somewhat inconceivable, even absurd. Undead didn’t have the self-protection mechanism that humans do, how could they faint? And this was an Undead, it didn’t even have a body, was it pretending?

Anthony said, "I don’t think it’s pretending, it feels more like it’s out of rage, so angry that it couldn’t accept reality and simply exhausted all its spiritual power and passed out?"

"This..." Everyone exchanged glances, as if they were performing surgery on the Eye Demon—opening their eyes to realize that Undead creatures could indeed fall unconscious.

After marvelling at the spectacle for a while, Ange then pulled out a dozen Soul Crystals and stuffed them onto the Soul Heart.

The Soul Heart instinctively began to dissolve the Soul Crystals, sweeping clean the Soul Energy within. After absorbing a dozen or so, the Soul Heart remained unchanged.

Anthony and Negriss looked at each other, then suddenly said, "Oh no, looks like it’s really dead, with only the Soul Heart remaining. What to do, what to do."

Negriss chimed in, "Give it to me, I’ll hang it in my private toilet. The air doesn’t circulate well in there, and it gets too stinky. The Soul Heart has a sanitizing effect, perfect for the toilet."

Before he could finish his sentence, they saw the Soul Heart rapidly melt into a cloud of smoke, barely managing to condense into the shape of Hayden.

Negriss immediately sighed in disappointment, "Oh, so it’s not dead after all. That’s such a shame." This infuriated Hayden, who glared at him fiercely.

Anthony conjured up the Holy Light and grabbed onto the smoke.

Hayden, having depleted a large amount of Soul Energy, was powerless to resist and was captured. After a round of intense interrogation, Hayden answered all of Anthony’s questions.

After asking all the questions he was interested in, Anthony gave Hayden two options, "Either make a spiritual donation or be obliterated." After a glance at Negriss, he added, "Or have your remnant spirit hung in the toilet."

Hayden felt like crying from frustration at these tasteless fellows, angrily saying, "I am a subject of the Lord of Annihilation, I do not have a soul to offer. If you want to kill me, then kill me."

"You are a subject of the Lord of Annihilation?" This piqued Anthony’s interest immediately, "What is the name of the Lord of Annihilation?"

Ever since learning that the Annihilation Boundary had trapped the Undead King, Anthony and the silver coin had gone to great lengths to gather all the intel on Annihilation Warlocks, but all the information they could find was scarce, some even unverifiable, leaving them unsure whether it was real or fabricated by someone’s imagination.

In any case, this Annihilation Warlock was very mysterious. Everyone knew there was such a person and that his power was immense, his status even above the twelve United Sorcerers, yet no one knew his name.

In the past, many didn’t even take this nameless Annihilation Warlock seriously until he trapped the Undead King. Only then did everyone realize that he was a being with power rivaling the Undead King.

However, knowing this was of no significance, as one was in the heavens and the other underground, with entirely different life forms, making it extremely difficult to infiltrate with spies.

The spies they had managed to plant could not access highly confidential information, resulting in not only Anthony and the silver coin, but even Gust from the Council of the Undead, knowing nothing about the Annihilation Warlock’s background.

Anthony had once tried probing the Eye of Truth and the Godmaking Sorcerer for information but to no avail. He could hardly believe he had now captured a subject of the Annihilation Warlock—surely, a subject would know the name of their ’Monarch.’

Hayden decided to keep his mouth shut.

"If you won’t talk, we’ll really hang you in the toi— Eh?!" Anthony hadn’t finished speaking when he sensed something amiss; a powerful will projection landed on Hayden.

Anthony only felt a force surge from behind him. Ange pushed him aside with one hand and stepped forward, his body surging with scales—Dragon God Transformation.

At the same time, everyone felt time around them slow down, everything became slow-motion as if solidifying, except Ange’s fist, which, moving just slightly faster than the slow motion, thundered towards Hayden.
