Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself-Chapter 738 - 751: Where is That Person?
An Ran bounced back after five days of rest at home.
On Monday morning, Mu Xingfeng dropped her off at school. Before leaving, he kissed her forehead, "I’ll come to pick you up after school tonight."
An Ran smiled and nodded.
During her recovery at the villa, Mu Xingfeng had done his best to stay at home with her. Occasionally, he would go out to the Guard Team, but he would always come back to have dinner with her. Compared to the previous weeks when he was nowhere to be seen, An Ran felt nothing but bliss.
She thought once she returned to school, Mu Xingfeng would only be able to see her on weekends like before. To her surprise, he still planned to pick her up after school.
Walking into the classroom, Xiao Xiao, sitting in the middle of the first row, waved at An Ran.
"How’s it going, my lady? Have you recovered?"
"Yes, I’m back to being a beautiful maiden squad member. By the way, why are you sitting here? Where’s the other one?"
The seating arrangement was based on grades. Although she didn’t want to be desk mates with Guo Xinyi, Guo Xinyi did rank third in the class.
"She didn’t come last Friday. I heard she transferred. Wasn’t it your husband’s doing?" Xiao Xiao squinted her eyes, clearly indicating she didn’t believe An Ran was unaware.
Mu Xingfeng? An Ran shook her head, showing she didn’t know.
At the hospital, An Ran had only said to leave it as it is. She didn’t want Mu Xingfeng to make too many enemies for her. Since the mayor of Nan’an City interceded, she decided to let it be. After the Xu Family incident, Guo Xinyi had already toned down, and An Ran wasn’t afraid of her.
Mu Xingfeng still made a move, though. But since he acted, An Ran certainly wouldn’t plead for that woman. She wasn’t that saintly.
"I really have to give props to Instructor Mu. That woman, I’ve disliked her for a long time. It’s good she’s gone now." Xiao Xiao pointed to the seat beside hers. "We’re not desk mates, but being side-by-side isn’t bad."
An Ran stuck out her tongue and returned to her seat.
The boy next to her, Lu Yi, who was engrossed in his book, looked up.
He had noticed her the moment she walked in and felt his heart settle when he saw her enter the classroom normally.
The Guo Family and Wenshan Group were in trouble, and news outside was tightly sealed. But that didn’t mean the Lu Family wouldn’t know.
When An Ran hadn’t shown up last Monday, Lu Yi had used his connections to find out what had happened to her. Knowing what she went through broke his heart but also brought him peace.
If it had happened to him, he would have been devastated. But Instructor Mu had saved her from danger.
Only a man like Mu Xingfeng could be by her side and ensure her lifelong safety.
He felt fortunate to have stepped back when he found out she had such a man by her side. Otherwise, the Lu Family might have become another Xu Family or Guo Family.
Still, that didn’t stop his heart from silently following her.
Seeing An Ran sit down beside him, Lu Yi asked with concern, "Are you okay?"
An Ran shrugged with a smile, "As you can see."
Lu Yi chuckled softly. If she wasn’t recovered, how could she be at school? After all, concern breeds chaos.
"We’ve covered quite a bit of new material this week. I’ll help you catch up after class," Lu Yi offered.
An Ran glanced at his notebook, picked it up, and flipped through a couple of pages. His handwriting was beautiful, like flowing water, and his notes were detailed.
"Let me borrow this. If I don’t understand, I’ll ask you."
Asking Lu Yi to tutor her? Ha! She’d have to crave sour things to approach Mu Xingfeng, that big jar of vinegar!
