Floating Islands: SSS Gacha Lord-Chapter 406 - We Have Many Pets to Feed
Atlas could clearly see it when hundreds of massive fireballs spread out toward the position where Nysera and her troops were gathered.
It all happened so fast, as the giant fireballs slammed down on them with brutal force.
Explosion after explosion erupted with deafening power. At their position, all they could do was scatter and raise their defenses as best they could.
Thunderous blasts and towering flames shot into the sky, striking again and again, and Nysera’s forces were truly torn apart by the impact. They could only endure and try to avoid as much damage as possible.
At the same time, in this situation, they could not move closer to the enemy to launch any kind of counterattack. They were far too busy just trying to survive.
Luna, standing beside Atlas, showed it clearly on her face. She could not hide the fear and panic anymore. On the other hand, Bolin was openly laughing as he watched the strikes grow more violent and relentless.
"Atlas?" Luna said softly after that.
But there was no response from Atlas.
What happened next was that the miniature sun began to move, drifting closer to where Nysera’s troops were positioned.
The fireballs kept spreading and crashing into the area around them. Trees fell one after another, and loud explosions followed in rapid succession.
Bolin laughed with clear satisfaction. "Do you see this? Look at how you cannot handle it at all, Atlas. The troops do not even need to step onto the battlefield. This cute little sun is more than enough to take care of everything."
However, as those explosions continued, there was one thing that went unnoticed, or perhaps forgotten by some.
The real eclipse that had covered the world around them began to slowly fade away. The real sun started to emerge, little by little, until it was almost fully visible.
It became clear when the shadows around them separated and sharpened again, and the light in that place grew brighter with every passing moment.
Seen from the massive screen, Nysera’s troops had already spread out at high speed. They flooded across the battlefield, slipping past the incoming fireballs aimed at them. Some of them shot into the air, immediately trying to clash with the opposing side.
Their forces were slowly being worn down by attacks from the sky, attacks that did not even require the enemy troops to fight directly.
This could be Bolin’s first victory, or at least that was what he believed. Of course, that was what filled his mind.
Until suddenly, the man’s eyes widened in shock.
Anyone would have been stunned.
There was something floating in the air. Someone. A figure completely wrapped in shadows, with dark tendrils writhing wildly from his back like living tentacles. It was a man, hovering silently above the battlefield.
"Edrik," Luna murmured under her breath.
It was Edrik, and he looked nothing like the man they had known before.
Edrik thrust his hand to the right, and in an instant, a tear split open in reality above the sky. It was as if a dimension had been ripped apart, revealing a clear black vortex spinning within it.
Then something completely unexpected happened. The miniature sun began to slowly pull toward that rift.
Bolin stared in disbelief at the sight.
It was clear that Edrik was struggling to keep the rift open. He clenched his teeth hard, his body hovering motionless as he poured everything into holding it in place.
At that moment, hundreds of fireballs shot straight toward Edrik. But Nysera’s flying troops were already there, blocking every single attack. They raised protective barriers, and some even used their own bodies as shields.
Atlas muttered quietly at that moment, and only Luna could hear him.
"One of the other abilities of Eclipse Dominion is that Nysera can focus her dark power onto a single person. That is why Edrik can do something this extreme. He is trying to pull that sun into his dimensional space."
Luna swallowed hard when she heard that. "But Edrik looks like he is suffering badly up there."
"He is being empowered multiple times right now. His strength is multiplied over and over. And if that miniature sun can be swallowed, then the battle will shift back to our side."
"Attack him! Attack that foolish man!" Bolin shouted loudly after that, his voice filled with frustration and desperation.
What happened next was chaos. Hundreds of massive fireballs were hurled wildly in every direction with brutal force. Explosion after explosion tore through the air.
The miniature sun looked like it was struggling to resist as the rift tried to pull it in.
Edrik hovered there, his clothes clearly torn apart, his body visibly slashed and wounded. He was undeniably being burned by the intense heat of the miniature sun he was trying to erase.
Nysera’s troops who were struck by the attacks fell rapidly as well, all because they were trying to protect Edrik at any cost.
It felt like it went on for a very long time, yet it ended just as suddenly.
The miniature sun vanished from the sky, leaving only Edrik floating there alone, his body severely injured. Even so, his hair still looked perfectly neat and polished.
Bolin stared in shock at what he had just witnessed.
Right after that, Nysera’s forces surged forward onto the battlefield, launching a rapid assault. The opposing troops moved just as quickly to respond.
Edrik was still surrounded by an overwhelming spread of shadow energy.
Everything happened in an instant when the ground suddenly grew dark. It was as if shadows rose from the land itself and rushed violently toward the enemy.
"What is happening this time?" Luna murmured softly.
Those massive shadow tendrils spread across the ground, sweeping through the area at terrifying speed. What followed was horrifying.
The shadow tendrils caught the enemy troops, trapped them, and within moments, they vanished, swallowed completely by the darkness.
The enemy troops vanished one by one across the ground, disappearing at an alarmingly fast rate.
"Where did Edrik take those people?" Luna asked quietly once again.
Atlas only gave a faint, calm smile. "We have many pets to feed."
