Floating Island - Triple S Talent-Chapter 488: An irritated Lein
How could these people just ignore him like that? The aura around him suddenly exploded, radiating a powerful pressure that shook the air.
"In the name of sect law, I will punish a sinner like you!" he shouted.
In a flash, he raised his sword high and dashed toward Efan, who was at the rear.

Lein immediately noticed the movement. His body tensed instinctively, ready to move to block Gareth's attack. But before he could act, Laras had already responded.
Her white dress fluttered with each graceful but firm step. With a single smooth motion, she turned and looked straight at Gareth, who was approaching at terrifying speed.
Suddenly, the air around Gareth trembled. His body abruptly stopped mid-air, as if time had frozen for him. A bubble of white light appeared around him, adorned with flowing runes that spun like a whirl of stars.
Gareth's eyes bulged. Panic. He tried to move, but it was useless. Cold sweat began to drip from his temples as he realized he was completely powerless.
The bubble floated closer to Laras, then slowly rose, revealing Gareth's face now outside the protective layer. He stared at Laras in fear, his breath quick and ragged.
"Wh-who are you?" he asked, his voice trembling.
Laras didn't answer. Her gaze remained calm, cold, and authoritative.
Efan stepped closer, standing beside Laras. He let out a small sigh and looked at Gareth with an expression that was half pity, half amusement.
"Thank you, Sister Laras," he said casually, before turning his gaze to Gareth.
"Young friend, what exactly are you doing? Aren't you the one who violated your sect's rules?" he asked, his tone like a teacher scolding a stubborn student.
Gareth froze, his eyes darting left and right, searching for an opening to defend himself. "What law did I break? You're the ones who broke the rules!" he shouted, trying to sound convincing even though fear clearly laced his voice.
Efan let out a quiet snort and shook his head. "Attempting to kill others without a valid reason... isn't that also against sect rules?" he said, his voice laced with mockery.
Gareth clenched his fists inside the bubble. "If it's done in the name of justice, then it's not a violation!" he yelled, still stubborn despite his clearly unfavorable position.
Smack!
Efan slapped his own forehead, then turned to Laras with a face full of despair.
"I give up," he said, as if dealing with someone like Gareth had completely drained his patience.
Laras responded in a flat tone, "I already told you, there's no use talking to a beast." Her gaze was cold, showing no interest in arguing further.
At that moment, Gareth's companions finally arrived beside him. A short-haired woman stepped forward, her face fearless. With a firm voice, she threatened, "Release our friend, or we'll report this to Elder Jian!"
Laras didn't react. She merely turned and looked at Lein, as if waiting for his decision.
Huff...
Lein let out a soft sigh. He had already guessed that all this was a consequence of his decision to hide his power. If from the start he had allowed others to know that he was at the King stage, people like Gareth wouldn't have dared to mess with him.
"Alright," Lein said at last, turning his gaze to the woman. "Do you know where the main hall is?" His tone carried a hint of irritation, though it still sounded calm.
The woman snorted. "I won't tell you anything until you release our friend!" she shouted boldly.
Lein growled inwardly. He was getting more and more annoyed with this situation.
He was still trying not to act cruelly just because of a misunderstanding and baseless accusations. But if things kept going like this...
"Seems like we need to get acquainted," Lein muttered quietly, then raised his index finger.
An invisible bubble appeared in the air, moving unnoticed by anyone. Without resistance, it enveloped Gareth and his two companions. In an instant, their previously tense bodies went limp, drained of energy as if something had sucked away their spirit.
Laras finally released her light barrier. Gareth's body crashed heavily to the ground.
His whole body trembled violently, as if he had just undergone invisible torment. His eyes were blank, mouth slightly open, breathing ragged. His two companions weren't much different—they slumped to the ground, their faces showing deep fear, like people who had just experienced a horrifying nightmare.
Efan glanced at Lein with curiosity. "Brother Lein, what did you just do to them?" he asked, eyes narrowing slightly as he tried to comprehend the strange technique Lein had just used.
Lein gave a faint, indifferent smile. "Nothing much. They're just having a bit of a bad dream," he replied casually. His gaze then shifted elsewhere, his expression turning serious.
"Let's go. I know where the main hall is," he muttered.
While tormenting them within his dream world, Lein had read Gareth's soul and obtained the information he needed.
Efan and Laras exchanged glances and then smiled. They were glad to finally know the location they had been looking for—no longer needing to waste time dealing with people like this.
Without another word, Lein raised his hand, wrapping Efan and Laras in his elemental energy. "Don't resist," he said briefly.
In an instant, that energy flowed, opening a teleportation path through space.
Performing teleportation with elemental energy required deep understanding of the destination and the ability to pierce through spatial boundaries.
Laras and Efan could actually open portals using their own energy, but since their divine sight wasn't as expansive as Lein's, their teleportation was more limited and could only be done to places they had previously marked.
Now that everything was ready, Lein ensured the path was stable. Within seconds, their three bodies vanished from that place.
The onlookers were left frozen, not one of them able to do anything. Most of them were merely practitioners at the Master stage or lower—far from strong enough to understand, let alone match, the power they had just witnessed.
