Flirted Wrong, Married Right-Chapter 792: Mixed Emotions
Since Mrs. Shaw knows there’s a good chance something happened to her husband, why didn’t she go to the police or search for him, but instead chose first to hide with their child?
Could it be that their relationship has deteriorated to such an extent?
But if their relationship was really that bad, then how could it be that when Mrs. Shaw mentioned Principal Shaw, she naturally referred to him as "our old Shaw"? Why would she feel terrified about Principal Shaw’s disappearance?
There’s only one explanation.
That is, there were no significant issues in Mrs. Shaw and Principal Shaw’s marital relationship, but Principal Shaw indeed did something wrong before, and most likely had dealings with some dangerous person.
And Mrs. Shaw was aware of all this.
That’s why she was afraid of her husband’s disappearance, yet felt powerless.
Given the situation, James Grant felt there was no need to continue questioning.
If he asked more, Mrs. Shaw might not know the answers, and he might inadvertently reveal that he wasn’t familiar with Principal Shaw.
So James Grant stood up and said blandly, "Since Principal Shaw isn’t around, I won’t bother you any further. I’ll take my leave now."
As he spoke, James Grant turned to leave.
"Wait a moment!"
Mrs. Shaw hurriedly called out to James Grant.
James Grant turned to look at her, only to see Mrs. Shaw hesitating, taking a long while before she said with difficulty, "Mr. Grant, although I haven’t met you before, nor has old Shaw mentioned you, the fact that you found your way here suggests you have a good relationship with our old Shaw... I want to ask, do you know where our old Shaw has gone?"
As Mrs. Shaw finished speaking, her eyes turned red, "And also, when will he, when will he come back?"
Looking at the seemingly sorrowful expression in Mrs. Shaw’s eyes, James Grant couldn’t help but feel a twinge of pity.
Especially when he thought of the little girl about Sharon’s age, James Grant felt a complex set of emotions.
He softened his tone slightly, "Mrs. Shaw, if I knew Principal Shaw’s whereabouts, I wouldn’t have come to you. I’m sorry, I’m also full of doubts today, so I can’t answer your questions."
After a brief pause, James Grant continued, "But rest assured, if I can find Principal Shaw, I’ll definitely find a way to ensure his safety."
After all, if something happened to Principal Shaw, it might very well backfire on Sharon.
Leaving the villa, James Grant sat in the car, closing his eyes slightly, deep in thought. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Before long, Quentin Hale’s call came through.
"Director Grant, I’ve found the surveillance footage of Principal Shaw leaving his house. He got into an unlicensed car, and that car right now..."
As Quentin Hale spoke, he seemed hesitant, taking awhile before his voice became slightly hoarse, "That car broke down on the Aethelburg highway and was involved in a major accident."
James Grant felt a slight tightening in his heart.
Soon, the phone beeped, and James Grant opened his phone.
Quentin Hale had sent the latest news, reporting on the major accident on the Aethelburg highway an hour ago.
James Grant quickly skimmed over it, his emotions slightly sinking.
If he guessed correctly, Principal Shaw might already be dead.
After hanging up, James Grant pondered for a long time and then called Evelyn Clayton.
However, it rang for a long time without being answered.
James Grant’s expression changed subtly, and his voice suddenly became filled with hostility, "To the hospital!"
The driver dared not delay, immediately driving towards the hospital.
Twenty minutes later, James Grant’s car arrived back at the hospital.
He was just about to call Evelyn Clayton again when he saw a thin figure walking out of the hospital entrance.
