Flirted Wrong, Married Right-Chapter 594: Are You Happy?
Upon hearing this, Yara Reagan pursed her lips and apologized in frustration. ๐ฏ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ฌ๐ฎ๐๐๐ค๐๐๐ก.๐๐๐ถ
"Iโm sorry, Evelyn. I didnโt know how he found out where you were. I actually arrived yesterday morning, but James Grantโs people detained me straight away. He didnโt let me go until the afternoon."
Evelyn Claytonโs eyes flickered slightly, unsure what to feel in her heart. "Did you see him again in the afternoon? Did he say anything?"
"I did, but he didnโt say anything." Yara lightly pursed her lips. "He just looked quite intimidating, constantly wearing a sullen face. He didnโt respond to me and just let me go directly."
"After I got out, I came straight to find you, only to find out about your accident..."
Evelyn Clayton closed her eyes, smiling bitterly inside.
She was actually pregnant.
Thinking back, the last time she was with James Grant, it was indeed around this time.
Yet all precautions were taken then, how did this suddenly happenโ
Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted as the hospital room door gently opened, and Shane Sinclair helped his mother Pauline Warren walk in.
"Evelyn, youโre awake?" Pauline Warrenโs face lit up with delight as she even pushed away Shaneโs hand, rushing to Evelyn Claytonโs bedside.
Yara quietly made some space for Pauline.
Pauline, overwhelmed with joy, had tears in her eyes. She wiped them away and held Evelynโs hand. "Do you know? Youโre pregnant!"
"Auntie, Iโve already told Evelyn," Yara gently reminded.
Pauline nodded repeatedly, her smile only growing wider. "Good, good, thank you for taking care of Evelyn... You must be Yara, right? Youโre good friends with Evelyn?"
Yara just felt it was odd.
She let out a couple of awkward laughs. "Yes... Evelyn and I have been friends since childhood, why are you thanking me? It was you who saved Evelyn, I should be thanking you."
"I know, you and she are close; otherwise, Evelyn wouldnโt have thought of contacting you first when she woke up."
Pauline comfortingly patted Evelynโs hand. "Isnโt that right, Evelyn? Seeing your good friend, do you feel a little happier inside?"
Still tangled in chaos, Evelyn only nodded perfunctorily at these words.
Pauline didnโt mind at all. Instead, she grew more excited. "Evelyn, now that youโre pregnant, you must be even more careful not to move around. You should rest well here first, and when you feel better, Iโll take you home, alright?"
Evelyn finally came around, noticing Paulineโs eager expression. Her brow furrowed slightly, and she instinctively looked at Shane.
However, Shane did not react, seemingly supportive of his motherโs decision.
Seeing Evelynโs hesitation, Pauline quickly added, "Let your good friend Yara come along too! She can keep you company, right? When you get home, she and I can take care of you together..."
As she spoke, Paulineโs gaze became affectionate, gently caressing Evelynโs cheek with tender love, murmuring, "Our little Ann has grown up and is going to be a mother too..."
Seeing the somewhat obsessive look in Paulineโs eyes, Evelyn instinctively shrank away slightly.
Beside them, Yara also found herself with goosebumps.
Shaneโs expression finally shifted slightly as he stepped forward to support Pauline gently, speaking softly.
"Mom, didnโt you say you wanted to go back and arrange a room for little Ann? Iโll stay here with my sister, why donโt you head back first and see what else is needed in her room."
Successfully persuaded, Pauline left.
Evelynโs eyes were cold as she looked at Shane.
Meeting her gaze, Shane rarely showed a hint of guilt.
"Iโm sorry, last night, when my mother found out about your accident, she stayed with you all night. Sheโs very resistant to taking medication, and plus, she was tired, so perhaps... she had a little episode."
