Chapter 234: 234. Fun and Games

When I opened my eyes again, it was morning.

I seemed to have dozed off while talking to Henry under the blanket in suffocating closeness. We hadn’t even discussed the other kind of warning I had received.

A shower ran inside the bathroom, so I just waited for him to come out again, listening to the quiet noises. I looked at my smartwatch, which lay beside Henry’s on my nightstand.

Luckily, I had taken it off automatically before crashing onto the bed, and Henry had too, or we would have probably been heard.

I grabbed it and checked the schedule for today, finding a few room numbers I could recall. One was on the ground floor where we would have sports, the breathing guy again, and group therapy; the rest I didn’t recognize.

I wanted a smoke just by seeing the schedule, though it had been relatively relaxed in here these last two days.

I had my own plans for today, which included talking with Henry about the ’water warning’ and telling him about my ability to teleport.

Thinking about it now, I understood that I was not climbing through the window of the past, because then I wouldn’t be able to teleport to places I hadn’t been before, which I could clearly do.

As if two windows opened, not to a memory but each representing a point in space, I could apparently arrange these two windows in front of each other, and with one jump, cross the space that was in between them.

But if it was like this, and if I could teleport to places I hadn’t been before, didn’t that mean I could teleport wherever, maybe even to a parallel world?

If I could take people with me while teleporting, then that meant I could save anyone without needing to cross through a portal. So even if a portal had closed, it wouldn’t stop me.

Today, I wanted to test if I could teleport with another person. The one-meter radius I had been bound to before...well, I had the feeling that after leveling up, the distance was now much, much wider, so that would be cool to test as well.

I just needed a place without cameras. If the ankle monitor or smartwatch showed strange results, then they would probably think it was a bug instead of me jumping through space... A few tests should be possible, and if I get discovered while doing them, so be it.

The ability to teleport was truly the best one a convicted prisoner could wish for. Maybe because of that, or because this facility was so different from a real prison, I didn’t really feel caged in here.

Henry finally emerged from the bathroom, with a towel around his hips and steam clinging to his skin.

I was speechless for a moment, not knowing how to announce my presence.

"Awake?" He chuckled, without even turning to me, as he chose some white clothes from the closet built into the same wall as the metal door.

"Mhm." I hummed.

"Let’s find a place to continue our talk later."

"Roger." He let the towel fall, and I didn’t turn away, letting my eyes wander over his strong back and sculpted ass. I have to admit, even from a straight man’s perspective, this was an undeniably sensual picture, though I would probably not feel the same if he turned around.

"Ethan called yesterday evening and asked how we were doing."

"Mhm, what did you say?" I asked absentmindedly, watching him put on his underwear. He could have just gone into the bathroom to change, but he did not.

"I said we are doing well." He suddenly turned to me, his head tilted, his hair cascading to his muscular shoulders, the scarred skin from the bite marks glistening in the sunlight shining through the meshed window.

Damn, like this... He really looked like a god tainted by the teeth of an insatiable human.

"Yeah. We are doing well." I nodded, not looking away from his body, only clothed in white boxers.

"I want to test a few things later." I finally met his eyes, which glistened with mirth.

"Okay." Breaking into a grin, he turned around again and finished putting on clothes.

I changed as well, without showering, sensing a penetrating gaze on me. When we were finished, we went to eat breakfast, where we met the others.

Then there was a very interesting lesson first thing in the morning, something like martial arts in a light form. Everyone chose a partner, and we exchanged "blows" in slow motion to learn the techniques.

Henry, standing opposite me and holding me in a loose chokehold, seemed to be having the time of his life, his hands constantly on my body, nudging or tickling me. He was not taking the lesson seriously at all; well, the overall tenor of this lesson felt more like playing around anyway.

"Are you having fun?" I asked him while his fingers poked my waist.

"Mhm, tremendously," he laughed.

I took his hand, turned it, and threw him on the mat with his stomach down, straddling him while holding his arm on his back cautiously so as not to hurt him.

"Still fun?" I chuckled.

Henry broke into a fit of laughter, his whole body shaking.

"Hell, yes!"

The supervisor, a dainty woman who was clearly not underestimated, going after the things she taught us, came over.

"That was an excellent move! Did you learn martial arts before?"

I didn’t let go of Henry while looking up at her and nodding.

"A bit."

Henry still shook with laughter beneath me.

"Excellent! But be careful not to hurt each other. Besides showing you how to defend yourself in the worst case, we want you to relieve a bit of stress and have fun." She smiled at me.

"Mhm." I nodded and waited until she walked away.

"What is the best way to teach people?" Henry suddenly asked from beneath me.

"With fun and games..." I stated, having thought the same.

"Yeah." His hand reached for my wrist, and he turned his body; with one smooth move, the situation was reversed, only that I lay now on my back while Henry straddled me.

He leaned downward, his hair framing his face, with the tips grazing my cheeks as his blue stare held me in place as he spoke.

"...until it suddenly turns serious."
