Flip the Coin [BL]-Chapter 195. Catch me (by Apashe)
"Like I might be~" I raised my head while clutching Henry’s hand.
"On the right path~" I looked at the coin and saw the Hangman with an additional line—a smile.
"The path that takes me~" I felt the air pressure change, and tears spilled from my eyes as I sensed a presence, a wrongness, arriving.
I felt ashes fly through the air before the air shook, and a loud THRUM was heard. I still held Henry’s hand and didn’t dare to open my eyes as my voice broke.
"Home~"
The wind grew stronger, and I put Henry away, snapping my eyes open.
There it was, the giant still kilometers away from me. On this smaller dead planet, he was as far away as he could be.
’Oh, baby, it’s alright~’ The earth trembled as he took a step toward me.
His neck tilted, and the tiny red pupils found me instantly.
My body screamed at me, and I tried to control the constant urge to just RUN, RUN, RUN!
Instead, my legs gave way, and I knelt down.
This was no monster alone; it was a god.
The power it emitted and the dissonance with its surroundings, the skinny, deformed body, the wide mouth, the missing ears—not a hair on him—was this really a god?
I don’t know, but I knew I had to kneel.
I knew I had to die.
I knew I had to be devoured.
"No. No. No. No. No." Don’t come closer. Please, no, nononononono. Please, no. No. I breathed erratically while my head throbbed so badly it made me dizzy.
The red pupils never left me as he took another step, his movements abrupt and uneven; the air stank of death.
Not because of his rotting body, but because of the deaths he was responsible for.
Monster, god, this thing should have never come to life.
Wrong.
IT WAS WRONG.
IT WAS UTTERLY WRONG!
It was in front of me, and I saw the hand coming down.
I saw the fingers stretching for me as if I were the answer to his prayers, as if devouring me would give him a new life, as if this was as it had to be.
Gigantic fingertips caught me, and I blacked out for a few seconds, losing control over my body, pissing and shitting myself as my ribcage was crushed.
My head sunk back as I tried to comprehend the unimaginable pain and the fear that pushed me over the brink of sanity.
It lifted me—that was how it was, right? That was how it goes, right?
Grabbing, lifting, and then—and then—NO! NO!
I put my hand out and watched it move in the wind.
’I am flying, Mum, I am flying,’ I thought, my head rolling to the side, giving me a glance at the ground.
So far... so far away, so far. I was unable to think, just watching, trying to breathe, trying to let the blood in my mouth not suffocate me as I just let it flow out.
This was a holiday, a fucking vacation; I had to hurry up and heal. I had to stay unmoving on my way up because I had to gather my strength for what was yet to come.
The giant moved at a snail’s pace; maybe he was even trying to preserve my life until he could chew me up.
I couldn’t feel my body anymore; my hands sagged down as the coldness from the flight made me freeze into numbness.
Then my head bobbed to the other side, and I saw the giant’s thighs, the place where his genitals would be, but just like his ears and part of his nose, they were missing. Blood came out of my mouth, but also from my nose now.
You can be weak, but you can’t stay weak. It won’t take long anymore. Treasure these few seconds before we start, gather strength, and most of all, HEAL!
HEAL, KENNY, HEAL!
KENNY, YOU MUST HEAL NOW! NOW!
My body flinched, and I heard something break inside me. Was it breaking? No, it was put together again; breathing became easier, and the blood that came out of me lessened.
Navel, solar plexus; we were near; it was coming.
DON’T BE SCARED, KENNY, DON’T BE SCARED!
My head moved back as I still let my body move with the motion, remaining completely limp. Again, my view turned to the ground; it seemed so far away, so far down. What would I give to be down there or just fall?
Just let me fall and for this to end.
Chest, collarbones. My head bobbed back, and I saw the protruding eyes, the fast-moving pupils that, however, now watched me unmovingly, never letting go of me, and the deformed, emaciated face up close.
Being stared at by this thing, I wanted to close my eyes with every fiber of my body, but I couldn’t—I absolutely couldn’t. The horror swirled toward me in waves.
Each time another wave came, my heart skipped a beat so strongly that it felt as if it would give out. At the same time, all my orifices opened again, but there was nothing inside me that could be thrown out.
Then, as the wave lessened, my body shuddered, and I flinched again as if the reality before me was confirmed, as if my mind would break.
I conjured up a gun in my hand, unable to take it anymore, unable to go through with it.
No, no, this just has to end; I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE, I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE!
I tried to shoot myself while holding the gun at a strange angle, my body frozen and completely numb, still locked in the gaze of the giant, not seeing what I was doing, just hoping that I was aiming at my head, just PRAYING that I would be able to kill myself.
I pulled the trigger, but with absolute terror consuming me, I passed the protruding eyes, apparently not having killed myself.
I pulled the trigger again. PLEASE, PLEASE, I JUST WANT TO DIE. I AM BEGGING YOU, PLEASE!
Seeing that I again didn’t lose consciousness, that my body was held higher than his eyes, that his mouth opened, and that I was moved above his mouth, I let the gun fall. My head sagged down as I looked at the picture that had haunted me for what felt like forever.
The pharynx, the tongue, the teeth, and above them the red pupils that threw me into a cage barred with horror.
And then it came as it had to come, right?
Grabbing, lifting, and...
FALLING.
