Flash Marriage With Mr. Sheffield: Go Away, Cheap Man!-Chapter 120: Such a Beautiful Woman—Even If She’s Married, He Wants Her
Clara Sterling stepped out of the car, holding flowers in one hand and a gift in the other.
The driver, Linton, turned the car around and drove away.
"Hey beautiful, are you here for Anabelle’s birthday party too?" A man who had just gotten out of a Maserati greeted Clara Sterling with a smile.
Though Clara Sterling dressed quite plainly today, her strikingly beautiful face was impossible to look away from.
Hearing the man’s words, Clara Sterling knew he was also Anabelle Spencer’s friend, so she politely replied, "Yes, I am."
Sure enough, the man laughed and said, "I’m also here for her birthday party. Are you from Ardendale too? How come I haven’t seen you before?"
The man had bright red hair and a flamboyant style of dress, clearly a playboy from a wealthy family.
Before Clara Sterling could answer, a woman beside them suddenly sneered and said, "Do you even need to ask? Didn’t you see what kind of car she got out of? No idea where Anabelle met this pauper, not one of us at all."
The woman wore a blue fishtail gown, a form-fitting couture that accentuated her curves, front and back.
The gown’s surface also glittered with sequins, dazzling and picturesque.
Her hair was styled meticulously to match the outfit, adorned with diamond clips, and the necklace featured a dazzling star of the ocean sapphire.
Decked out in finery, it was clear she must be one of Anabelle’s superficial friends.
She dressed so beautifully for Anabelle’s birthday party, only thinking about outshining everyone else, without caring about stealing the limelight.
Clara Sterling wasn’t angry, just smiled good-naturedly, "You’re right, we’re not in the same circle."
Even if they’re superficial friends, they’re still Anabelle’s guests. It’s her birthday today, Clara Sterling didn’t want to cause any trouble.
After speaking, Clara Sterling began walking toward the villa area.
Unfortunately, the man kept pestering her.
The man kept up with her, "Hey beautiful, what’s your name? Why not add me on WhatsApp, we are both Anabelle’s friends, let’s get acquainted and hang out together."
"No thanks." Clara Sterling declined coldly.
"You’re so aloof, I like it."
The woman who had just ridiculed Clara Sterling rolled her eyes as she caught up.
"Evan Grant, are you a simp or what? Can’t you see she doesn’t want to talk to you? And you’re still pushing forward?"
So this red-haired guy is Evan Grant.
Evan Grant ignored it entirely and continued following Clara Sterling, "Hey beautiful, it was love at first sight for me, can you give me a chance?"
Clara Sterling smiled, "Sorry, I’m married."
"What?!" Evan Grant was shocked, "You look like you’re barely in your twenties, how are you already married?"
There’s no need to explain to him.
Clara Sterling said nothing, continuing to walk forward.
The woman sneered sarcastically, "You probably don’t know, right? Poor girls tend to marry young, especially those from rural areas, sometimes even getting pregnant and having kids before the legal marriage age, and then they get married officially later."
Clara Sterling ignored her, continuing on her way.
Anabelle had said the entrance to her villa was decorated with flowers and balloons and easy to spot.
Clara Sterling looked around for a villa with flowers and balloons.
"You..." Evan Grant looked at Clara Sterling, clearly hurt, "Are you really married? You’re not just saying that to reject me, are you?"
"Really married." Clara Sterling replied succinctly.
Evan Grant’s shoulders slumped instantly, he sighed, "Sigh, I thought I’d found love, but turns out she’s a married woman..."
Clara Sterling kept a blank expression, saying nothing.
Yet the woman spoke again.
"Come on now, you fall in love every month, everyone knows you have a dozen girlfriends a year."
Being exposed in front of the girl he likes, Evan Grant couldn’t save face, stubbornly argued, "Don’t talk nonsense, I’ve only seriously dated three girlfriends, the rest are just friends."
"Haha." The woman sneered, "Friends you can sleep with?"
Clara Sterling felt speechless.
She didn’t know these two people, why did they keep talking to her?
Clara Sterling quickened her pace, widening the distance from them.
Evan Grant didn’t catch up again, he walked at a steady pace behind.
The woman beside him looked at Clara Sterling’s back, snorting coldly, "Who does she think she is?"
Clara Sterling finally saw Anabelle’s house.
She walked in, passing through the courtyard and into the main house.
The hall was very lively.
The band played soothing, melodious music.
The guests at the birthday party gathered in small groups, chatting together.
As soon as Clara Sterling entered, Anabelle came up to greet her.
"Clara, you’re here."
"Anabelle, happy birthday." Clara Sterling handed over the gift and flowers.
"Thank you." Anabelle accepted them, "Wow, these flowers are beautiful, thanks, Clara."
"No problem."
Lisa Holloway arrived before Clara Sterling, and when she saw that Clara Sterling had arrived, Lisa Holloway walked over, "Clara and I picked out these flowers yesterday."
Anabelle smiled widely, "Great taste."
The three of them chatted for a bit, and then Evan Grant and the woman also came inside.
"Anabelle." The woman greeted with a smile.
Seeing the woman’s attire, Anabelle nearly rolled her eyes.
Who is actually supposed to be the star today, dressed like that? Her hair must have taken three to four hours to do, right?
That dress, it’s a spring limited edition by some luxury brand, worth over five million.
This woman really put in effort to steal the spotlight at her birthday.
Anabelle forced a fake smile, "Mandy Lynn, you’re here."
"Thankfully, I’m not late. I wore this dress specially to bring you face today, gorgeous, right?" Mandy Lynn said with a bright smile.
"Gorgeous." Anabelle replied with a fake smile.
Bring her face?
Ugh, who needs her to do that?
Evan Grant suddenly spoke up, "Anabelle, is this lady your friend? Aren’t you going to introduce us?"
His gaze fixed on Clara Sterling, clearly asking Anabelle to introduce her.
"She already said she’s married, yet you’re still not giving up?" Mandy Lynn spoke with sour jealousy.
Anabelle ignored Mandy Lynn and began the introduction, "This is my colleague, Clara Sterling."
Evan Grant smiled and extended his hand, "Hello, Miss Sterling."
"Hello." Clara Sterling remained aloof.
She had already made it clear she was married, yet Evan Grant remained persistent.
Clara Sterling despised people with no sense of boundaries.
Only out of respect for Anabelle did she say "hello," but she didn’t extend her hand to shake Evan Grant’s.
She really didn’t want to have physical contact with him.
Even though Clara Sterling didn’t shake his hand, Evan Grant wasn’t angry, and turned to Anabelle, "Miss Sterling said she’s married, is that true?"
Anabelle hadn’t known Clara Sterling was married, she was even considering introducing her to Julian Hawthorne.
She and Evan Grant were from the same social circle and naturally knew his character, couldn’t hold a candle to Julian Hawthorne.
Did he dare to even think about Clara?
Anabelle spoke firmly, "Even if she’s not married, you wouldn’t have a chance with her. I advise you to give up that thought."
Evan Grant shrugged, pulling a carefree smile, "That’s really a shame."
"Clara, don’t mind him, he’s just a playboy." Anabelle hooked her arm around Clara Sterling’s elbow, "Come on, let’s go sit over there."
"Okay."
Anabelle led Clara Sterling to the sofa to sit down.
Lisa Holloway joined them.
Evan Grant didn’t chase after them, he grabbed a glass of red wine, crossed his legs, and sat not far away, his gaze lingering on Clara Sterling.
So beautiful.
Such a lovely woman, even if she’s married, he still wanted her.
"Who are those two women? I haven’t seen them before," Evan Grant’s friend came over to ask.
Evan Grant sipped his wine leisurely and replied, "Anabelle’s colleagues."
"That one in the green dress is stunning, she’s my type."
"She’s married."
"What? That’s a pity."
Meanwhile, Clara Sterling was entirely unaware of the man’s burning gaze, as she chatted with Anabelle.
Suddenly, Anabelle looked toward the door and called out, "Dad."
Clara Sterling instinctively followed Anabelle’s gaze and saw a man walking toward them.
