Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk-Chapter 922: Almost Embarrassed
When they returned to the main hall, Jasper Sinclair received a call from Louis Hayes.
As expected, the investigation had yielded results.
He covered the receiver and said to the person next to him, "I’ll take this call, you entertain yourself for a bit."
Nora Northwood gestured an "OK" to him.
Then, Jasper Sinclair found a quiet place, leaving one person behind, who wandered around the venue aimlessly.
A familiar brand manager approached Nora Northwood, holding two champagne flutes.
"Master Northwood, I haven’t seen VK make any big moves lately, are you holding something back?"
"Joking aside, it’s near the year’s end, I don’t want to put too much pressure on everyone."
Nora replied while accepting the champagne from him, yet she didn’t drink it, "Been unwell, the doctor doesn’t recommend drinking."
"Is it that he doesn’t recommend it, or you just look down on someone like me."
The tone suddenly changed, and Nora didn’t expect him to put her on the spot.
"We’ve been friends for a year or two, saying that makes us seem distant."
With many eyes around, Nora didn’t want to cause an unnecessary dispute.
Just then, Vincent Morgan appeared.
He snatched the champagne flute from Nora’s hand, saying, "My junior sister is indeed unwell, I’ll drink this on her behalf."
As soon as the words fell, the amber-colored liquid was already flowing down Vincent Morgan’s throat.
The troublesome person was sent away, Nora thanked Vincent and said, "Mr. Sinclair is waiting for me outside, let’s meet next time."
Vincent Morgan knew well that Nora was avoiding him.
He wasn’t someone who couldn’t take a hint, chuckled lightly, and let her leave.
Nora turned around, took just one step, and suddenly her calf went limp, causing her to fall straight down.
In that fleeting moment, she already imagined herself becoming the laughingstock of the event.
However, things didn’t quite unfold as she had imagined.
"Nora, did I scare you?"
Fortunately, Vincent Morgan’s actions were swift enough, preventing Nora from actually hitting the ground.
She was still shaken, unconsciously placing her hand on her lower abdomen.
"Thank you, Morgan."
Still shaken, Nora let Vincent hold her wrist for support.
"I’ll take you to the lounge to sit for a bit, do you need me to call a doctor?"
"My legs just went weak for a moment, it’s fine."
"Nora."
A cold voice came from afar, carrying evident anger.
Surprised, Nora looked up, inwardly crying out: Oh no! Can this be explained?
"Jasper, I almost fell just now, Morgan helped support me."
By this time, Vincent Morgan had already let go of her hand.
Nora returned to Jasper Sinclair’s side, her elbow moved slightly.
The small gestures between the two fell into Vincent Morgan’s sight and felt somewhat unpleasant.
He spoke, "Since Mr. Sinclair is back, I’ll leave my junior sister to you, let’s meet next time."
Jasper Sinclair remained expressionless throughout, making no response.
After leaving the event, Nora asked him, "Are you jealous?"
"Someone who doesn’t matter, why would I be jealous?"
"But you’ve already written those two words on your face."
As she spoke, Nora reached out and poked the man’s cheek, finding just a tiny bit of softness.
"Next time, stay away from anyone named Morgan."
"If it weren’t for Morgan, I would’ve fallen just now and made a huge fool of myself." She then changed the topic: "Why don’t you show some concern for me?"
"From now on, all your shoes should be flats."
