Chapter 778: Chapter 777: Are you hiding something from me?

The Police Station Chief paused for a moment, thinking it was quite normal. It was expected that these people wouldn’t show their real faces.

"Then let’s go ask your father again."

The Police Station Chief felt a growing unease. With absolutely no information, how on earth are we supposed to find them?

"Okay."

Nia Mitchell nodded and then followed the Police Station Chief to the ward.

Nia’s father was drinking water when the Police Station Chief walked in, smiling at him.

"The injury has stabilized," the Hospital Director said immediately. "Thankfully, the injury isn’t severe."

"Mm," Nia’s father nodded, looking up at Nia. Seeing her red eyes, he knew at once that she had been crying.

"Um, I am very sorry that something like this happened under my jurisdiction. I am the Police Station Chief. Could you describe what happened then?"

The Police Station Chief hesitated, unsure how to phrase the question, but after a moment’s thought, he asked directly.

Nia’s father thought for a moment and finally nodded.

"I think Nia Mitchell has already told you most of it. All I remember is that one of them had a butterfly tattoo on the back of his hand, and another man had a rather large black mole on his eyebrow."

Nia’s father thought for a moment. That seemed to be all he had seen.

"Judging by their accents, they should be locals."

The Police Station Chief nodded. Although this information wasn’t very significant, it could still be helpful.

"Alright, thank you for the information."

As he said this, the Police Station Chief’s phone rang. He immediately stepped aside to answer it.

"Okay, okay, okay, fine. I’ll head back immediately. Also, have all police personnel on standby."

After hanging up, he looked at them with a smile.

"Good news! Based on the fingerprints we collected from the dagger, we’ve identified one of the assailants."

The Police Station Chief smiled, exceptionally pleased. Excellent, he thought. Now I’ll have something to report when Young Master Peary asks.

Hearing his words, Nia Mitchell felt a glimmer of hope as well.

This is great! she thought. As long as they catch the assailants, everything will be fine.

"This person is really audacious. He has a prior record for theft with the Police Department, and to think he still hasn’t learned to repent."

The Police Station Chief was also very indignant. After staying a little longer, he hurried back.

Nia Mitchell sat on a nearby sofa, head bowed, lost in thought.

Time passed. By nine o’clock in the morning, all the hospital transfer procedures were complete.

"Everything is packed and ready. The plane has arrived on the hospital rooftop," the Hospital Director hurried over. Seeing they were almost finished packing, he spoke immediately.

Molly Harguez nodded, watching as the hospital nurses moved both individuals onto stretchers and began wheeling them out.

"Let’s go," she glanced at Nia Mitchell, who was standing to the side, and said irritably.

"Mm," Nia Mitchell nodded, quickly checked to ensure nothing was left behind, and then walked out.

Aboard the plane, Aldy Mitchell kept looking at Nia Mitchell.

"Sis, are you hiding something from us?" Her sister had been visibly agitated all day, making Aldy feel very uneasy.

Nia Mitchell faltered, and Aldy Mitchell instantly caught the look in her eyes.

Sure enough, Aldy thought. Her eyes held fear, surprise, and unease. Nia really was shouldering something all by herself.

"What could I possibly be hiding from you? Everything will be fine once we reach Capital Town. Besides, Charles Northwood said he’d meet us there."
