Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 611 - 610: Nia Mitchell, Stand still
Upon returning to the villa on the hill, Nia Mitchell yawned as she trotted into the living room.
Frederick Goldsmith was surprised to see them return, as he thought they had already eaten out.
"Madam, you’re back?"
He approached with a smile, a plate of strawberries in hand, and placed them on the coffee table.
Nia Mitchell cheerfully grabbed one and popped it into her mouth.
"Wash your hands!"
Maxwell Peary frowned in disapproval, seeing Nia run in with her shoes still on and eat without washing her hands.
"My hands aren’t dirty!"
Nia pouted but still walked towards the washroom to wash her hands.
After taking a couple of steps, she remembered she hadn’t changed her shoes and glanced down at her sneakers.
Uh oh, and the trail of footprints I’m leaving behind! she thought. "I..." Scratching her head in embarrassment, Nia removed her shoes and ran barefoot toward the washroom.
"Nia Mitchell!"
Maxwell Peary roared, trailing behind her. In the time it took him to utter those three words, she had already dashed into the washroom.
"Nia Mitchell, put your shoes on!"
Without having changed his own shoes, Maxwell ran towards the washroom, one foot in a loafer and the other in a slipper.
But the washroom door had already been locked from the inside.
Maxwell Peary furrowed his brow in frustration, his gaze landing on the sneakers in the living room. The butler was still standing there, looking a little at a loss.
Ugh. Young Master Peary, what are you doing? And look at your feet! What happened to your image?
"I’ll put them on later! It’s not cold now. Can’t you just leave me alone?"
Nia’s voice rang out from behind the door, accompanied by the sound of running water.
After washing her hands, Nia pressed her ear against the door, trying to hear any movement outside.
But... she heard nothing.
"Uncle?" she called out tentatively.
Has he left already? Nia mentally berated herself. So stupid! Would Maxwell Peary just leave like that? Not with his personality!
"Uncle?" Again, Nia pressed her ear against the door but still heard nothing.
Could he really have left?
She scarcely dared to believe it, but she cracked open the door just a sliver.
Empty? Huh, Uncle really left? Great! Nia opened the door, steadied her racing heart, and stepped out of the washroom.
Just as she stepped out, a sudden force yanked her arm.
WHOA!
Nia turned and found Maxwell Peary, his face dark, tightly gripping her hand.
"Uncle?"
Nia looked embarrassed, the smile freezing on her face.
HUMPH!
A certain someone huffed, reaching out to pull her to his side.
"Are you going to wear shoes or not?"
Maxwell Peary, his face still dark, bent down and lifted her into his arms.
"I’ll put them on!"
Nia answered firmly and nodded.
However, Maxwell Peary didn’t let her off so easily. He walked over to the sofa and placed her on it.
"Honey, we’re trying to have a baby. Can’t you be a bit more careful?"
His face was still dark, but his voice was laced with tenderness and affection.
Startled, Nia blinked her large, innocent eyes. Seeing Maxwell Peary looking so serious, she bit her lip.
"I know I was wrong."
She nodded and lowered her gaze to her bare feet.
"Then, Uncle, go get my slippers for me."
She couldn’t walk around barefoot anymore, so she had no choice but to command the man before her.
