Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 433 - 432 Buying Cheap Clothes Is About Speed
Nia Mitchell was observing the fish when the sound of the door opening behind her made her startle. She spun around instantly.
At the doorway stood a woman who froze on the spot upon seeing Nia Mitchell in the Office Room. Then, the woman glanced at the office desk.
Maxwell Peary wasn’t in. So, why was Nia here?
The woman frowned, her initial confusion giving way to a sullen expression.
The woman who had barged in without knocking was none other than Sophia Moore, the Head Secretary of MC Group, who had just had a conflict with Nia in the Dining Hall.
"Nia Mitchell, why are you here?" Sophia Moore asked, her expression a mixture of puzzlement and disbelief at the scene before her.
Did Nia Mitchell really have such audacity? To think she’d actually take advantage of everyone’s absence and sneak into the CEO’s Office Room alone!
"What’s wrong with me being here? And why are *you* here?" Nia retorted, frowning. She hadn’t expected anyone to barge into Uncle Peary’s Office Room, especially when he wasn’t at work.
She would have to be more careful next time she spent her lunchtime here.
How would she explain if someone else rushed in while she was having lunch with the CEO?
"I came to drop off some documents," Sophia Moore stated, holding up the folder in her hand and looking defiantly at Nia. Her expression seemed to silently convey, I’ve stated my reason for being here; now it’s your turn.
Nia’s initial panic gradually subsided as she stood facing Sophia Moore.
"I also came to deliver a document and was just about to leave," Nia replied calmly.
The CEO’s desk was always piled high with documents; there was no shortage of them. With so many files around, no one could tell if she was lying.
Sophia Moore clearly didn’t believe her, but she had no evidence to prove otherwise.
"This office isn’t a place you can just casually enter, especially when the CEO isn’t here." With that, Sophia Moore walked in and placed the folder she was holding onto Maxwell Peary’s desk.
"Aren’t you leaving yet?" Sophia Moore pressed, her tone impatient.
Nia shrugged. Fine, if she wants me to leave, I’ll leave.
Seeing Nia in clean clothes, Sophia Moore felt a surge of annoyance. Nia had embarrassed her so badly in the Dining Hall at lunchtime; she definitely wouldn’t let her off easy.
"Back at work so soon? Cheap clothes certainly are convenient; you can probably just pick up a new set from any roadside stall," Sophia Moore sneered. Sophia, on the other hand, had to drive all the way home to change. The thought of *her* going into a high-end boutique in those soiled clothes to buy a new outfit? Ha! She could never bring herself to do that.
Wouldn’t that be utterly humiliating?!
"Secretary Moore certainly changed her clothes quickly too," Nia retorted sarcastically. I, on the other hand, changed ages ago and even had a nap, she thought, but she wouldn’t say it out loud.
"Nia Mitchell, sort and categorize all the reports sent over by the Financial Department this month. Deliver them to the CEO’s office for his signature before the end of the workday." After issuing the order, Sophia Moore smiled smugly and sat down in her own chair.
As it wasn’t official work hours yet, the entire office was quiet, with only the two of them present.
Hearing Sophia Moore’s command, Nia gritted her teeth in frustration. The Financial Department handled the most complex and data-intensive work. Organizing and categorizing their reports properly would take at least two people half a day.
It was obvious Sophia Moore had given her this sudden assignment purely to make things difficult for her.
"For a workload like this, shouldn’t you have informed me first thing in the morning, Secretary Moore?" Nia questioned angrily.
