Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 43 Come, hug
Chapter 43: Chapter 43 Come, hug
"Quiet!"
The entire villa was deathly silent. Butler Jin and Belinda Swan stood there, holding their breath, their eyes wide with shock.
Someone slap me. Did I actually hear that? This is too bizarre. I’m definitely going to have nightmares tonight, the kind that last until dawn.
"Uncle Peary, stop teasing."
Nia Mitchell’s face fell. Was this the Maxwell Peary she knew?
"I’m just playing along with you; you should give me some kind of reward, right?"
Maxwell Peary was like a child asking for candy, looking as if he’d throw a tantrum if she didn’t give him a reward.
"Sure, but you’re not back yet. How can you get the reward if you’re not here?"
Nia Mitchell raised an eyebrow, a smug look on her face, completely ignoring the two other people standing in the villa.
Bunny, is it really okay for you to flaunt your affection like this?
Maxwell Peary curled his lips into a smirk. Oh, Bunny is complaining that I’m not home again.
"Come open the door."
A man with a wife at home shouldn’t have to use his own key to open the door; only bachelors do that.
TSK, TSK, what a heartwarming thought. Could it be that every day when I come home, my wife will happily run to open the door for me and then give me a sweet kiss?
Poor CEO Maxwell had completely forgotten that he had already arranged for his wife to work at his company. From now on, they would be commuting to and from work together. The scene of his wife waiting for him at home when they returned together... HEH, HEH, that was just wishful thinking.
Nia Mitchell ran to the front door after putting on her shoes. When she opened the door, Maxwell Peary was standing there, just as she’d expected.
"Come here, give me a hug."
Maxwell Peary reached out his arms. Seeing her safe and sound, the anxiety in his heart finally subsided.
Nia Mitchell turned her head and ran, kicking off her shoes again to curl up on the sofa.
"You have a guest," she said bluntly, her lips pouting high, clearly showing her displeasure.
Maxwell Peary slowly walked in. The smile he had for Nia Mitchell vanished, his expression turning as cold as ice once more.
He elegantly sat down on a chair to change his shoes, his thoughts already a million miles away.
He had just asked Alan Morgan to book a table at a Western restaurant. He wondered if Bunny would like it.
Belinda Swan smoothed her clothes, an impeccable smile forming on her face as she slowly walked towards Maxwell Peary.
"Maxwell, Uncle Peary asked me to come and see you. It’s been a long time since you visited the old residence."
Familiar words came easily to her lips, as Belinda Swan presented what she believed to be her most elegant self to the man she considered perfect.
Maxwell Peary looked up at Belinda Swan and continued to change his shoes.
"If we are talking about the same person, then I seem to recall that I severed my paternal relationship with him long ago."
Maxwell Peary replied bluntly. After changing his shoes, he stood up, an air of defiance about him.
"Miss Swan, you are not welcome here."
Belinda Swan lowered her head, looking as if she might cry at any moment.
"I know you hold many grudges against Uncle Peary, but every parent’s heart aches for their child. You can’t deny the care and effort he put into raising you, can you?"
Growing agitated, she took a few steps forward, blocking Maxwell Peary’s path.
"And you can’t push me away just because of your issues with Uncle Peary."
Seeing he was still intent on leaving, Belinda Swan reached out and grabbed Maxwell Peary’s arm.
"Let go!" Maxwell Peary roared, violently shaking off her hand.
"There has never been anything between us!"
Belinda Swan withdrew her hand in dejection, standing there awkwardly with a sorrowful expression.
"Maxwell Peary, you’re still the same as before; your words always pierce my heart so painfully. You’ll never see my feelings for you."
Never...
Maxwell Peary sneered. "Playing the victim will only make you feel even more pathetic!"
"Butler, show the guest out!"
