Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 377 - 376: Tell Me, What Do You Like About Her
Yancy Hastings suddenly realized the reason, and his brows furrowed instantly.
Just what is so good about this Nia Mitchell? She’s even attracted someone like Maxwell Peary to this extent.
Maxwell Peary swirled the red wine in his glass, a faint smirk on his lips. "See what happens if I need you for something and can’t find you," he warned, his voice laced with threat.
Hearing this, Yancy Hastings stopped in his tracks and turned to look at Maxwell Peary, who was seated on the sofa.
The study, decorated in dark tones, was devoid of color. Stark white incandescent light illuminated its every shadowy corner.
He was casually dressed in a bathrobe, exuding a raw, untamed aura. His half-lidded black eyes glinted with an inscrutable light.
Yancy Hastings’s frown deepened as he spent a long moment trying to gauge the sincerity of Maxwell Peary’s words.
"There’s no signal in the mountains," he finally said, choosing to believe him and offering an explanation, still standing his ground.
"That’s your problem." Maxwell Peary smirked, casually setting down his wine glass.
"If you have no other business, you may leave."
With that, Maxwell Peary rose and walked out, ignoring Yancy Hastings, who remained standing there.
Yancy Hastings cursed silently in his heart. Damn it! This guy, prioritizing women over friends—is he really the Maxwell Peary I know? If the outside world knew that Young Master Peary, whom everyone revered and dared not offend, was actually like this, their jaws would probably hit the floor.
"Tell me, what do you like about her?"
He had previously employed some means to investigate the matter and was surprised to find that Maxwell Peary and Nia Mitchell hadn’t known each other before their marriage.
A little investigation was all it took to uncover everything about Nia Mitchell’s past.
He just couldn’t understand. Why would Maxwell treasure such a fickle, abandoned woman as if she were a precious gem?
"What’s good about her is none of your business."
Maxwell Peary’s face darkened further. You people could never know how wonderful Rabina is. Moreover, he wasn’t willing to let others know. He wanted to be the only one to see her good qualities, to keep her by his side, even to the point of wanting to isolate her from the outside world. But she certainly wouldn’t want that, so he could only spread his own wings wider to protect her.
After leaving, Maxwell Peary didn’t return directly to the Master Bedroom. He knew that rabbit—Rabina—too well; she would definitely be sound asleep at this hour.
He descended the stairs step by step. The living room was silent, the dim yellow light casting a particularly tranquil glow.
Gazing at the pitch-black darkness outside, Maxwell Peary went into the kitchen, poured and downed a glass of milk in one go to somewhat appease his hunger, and then walked out.
Yancy Hastings was coming downstairs just as Maxwell Peary emerged from the kitchen, and they nearly collided.
"If possible, I hope that you could also be present when I go to the old family estate to make the marriage proposal tomorrow," Yancy said. "The eldest son is akin to a father. Maxwell, your position in Evelyn Peary’s heart is quite unique. If you also agree to this marriage, Evelyn Peary might not be so resistant."
After saying this, Yancy Hastings hurriedly departed, driving his Military Vehicle away from the hillside villa at high speed.
Maxwell Peary’s expression remained unchanged, his thoughts unreadable. He didn’t pause for a moment and headed for the second floor.
Yancy Hastings raised his hand and glanced at his watch again. He had already been delayed for a considerable time, and the field training was about to begin. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Frowning, he slammed his foot on the accelerator. With a ROAR, the Military Vehicle shot down the wide road.
Little did he know, this very acceleration would steer him straight into major trouble.
