Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 368 - 367: CEO...is making a confession?
In the hillside villa, the scent of flowers mingled with the air, rushing into one’s nose.
The old villa, styled with European flair, wore a veil of mystery.
A luxury, limited-edition black Rolls-Royce sped forward, coming to a stop with a long SKREEECH at the villa’s grand gate.
Barely half a second passed before a man in a black suit swiftly exited the car, rounded it to the passenger side, and opened the door.
"I can walk by myself!"
Nia Mitchell watched the stern-faced CEO, Maxwell Peary, as he reached over to unbuckle her seatbelt, seemingly poised to hoist her over his shoulder again.
"You have no say in this matter."
Maxwell looked solemn. His brow furrowed slightly at her defiant words, but he didn’t hesitate to lift her by the waist.
"Hey, let me go."
Nia’s legs flailed in protest, but she was no match for his strength.
"Maxwell Peary, let me go! You’re the one who wanted a divorce; we’re divorced now. This is kidnapping! You’re kidnapping me!"
Maxwell’s frown deepened. Carrying her, he opened the door and strode upstairs.
"Um, Young Master."
The butler, Frederick Goldsmith, stood by dumbfounded. What on earth was happening?
Good heavens, CEO, could you be less aggressive? One should be gentler with girls.
"Maxwell Peary, you’re kidnapping me! I’m going to report you! We are already divorced!" Nia howled, tears threatening to fall.
Maxwell startled and immediately placed her on the couch.
Seeing him relent, Nia immediately made her demand. "You’d better let me leave right now."
Maxwell’s face remained stern as he watched her aggrieved state on the couch, an extraordinary stuffiness tightening his chest. Damn it! His wife—he couldn’t lay a hand on her or even scold her. Even though she infuriated him, he was still the one who had to coax her.
Maxwell retorted coldly, "Go ahead and try reporting me. I’d love to see who dares take the case." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Nia choked back a reply. Fair enough. His influence was so vast that he could swagger through the Police Bureau without consequence; reporting him was out of the question.
"You’re an outrageous bully!"
Maxwell sighed softly, squatting down in front of her.
"That divorce agreement was sent over from the family estate. I just tossed it over there."
Nia pouted. In truth, she wasn’t particularly concerned about the divorce agreement at the moment. Her main focus was on Anne Davidson and Provence.
"Anne used to be in Provence, but that was a long time ago. She’s gone travelling around the world, and I don’t know where she is now." He patiently explained everything. Sure enough, when he mentioned Anne Davidson, a change came over Nia’s expression.
Nia bit her lip. His words seemed to confirm his past with Anne...
"Anne and I have nothing going on. She’s not my girlfriend. From beginning to end, you were the only one by my side, the only one in my heart."
Their eyes met. He was squatting and she was sitting; their gazes were level, no need to look up or down.
The words flowed beautifully from his deep-toned voice.
His words left her mind completely blank.
What did the CEO just say? That she was the only one at his side and in his heart? Was Uncle Peary confessing his love for her?
Frederick Goldsmith awkwardly hovered to the side. Initially, he had been worried that the young couple would wreak havoc, but to his surprise, the Young Master had confessed his feelings. Although he wanted to stay and see how it played out, he felt like too much of a third wheel and feared inciting their wrath.
So, he wisely slipped out of the living room, leaving them to it.
