Chapter 125: Chapter 125: The Open-Minded Grandmother

"Not a bother, not a bother." Fang Qinglan waved with a smile.

"Auntie, I want some too. Please prepare a cup for Ling Xing as well." Mi Jing stopped her actions and looked up at Fang Qinglan.

"Alright, you wait here. I’ll go right now." With that said, Fang Qinglan quickly headed to the kitchen.

Mi Jing’s movements were skillful. After taking the fishing rod out of the box, she walked toward Grandma. While explaining, she hooked the corn dough bait on the fishhook.

Whoosh——

The hook tied to the transparent fishing line was cast out, drawing a beautiful arc in the air. Then, with a "thump," it submerged into the pond, causing ripples on the emerald water surface.

"Grandma, it’s basically like this. What do you think? Is it simple?" Mi Jing handed the fishing rod to Grandma, smiling as she asked.

"Hmm."

Listening to Mi Jing, Grandma felt it was quite simple. But if she had to do it herself, it might not be that easy. However, she wasn’t one to stubbornly keep up appearances. If she had doubts, she would ask directly. "Jingjing, what’s next? What do I do now?"

"Hold the fishing rod with both hands or lay it flat, keeping as still as possible. When the bobber on the water moves or you feel a slight tug on the rod, immediately reel in the line."

After saying this, Mi Jing intentionally slowed her movements, patiently and thoroughly demonstrating to Grandma how to reel in. Meanwhile, Shen Lingxing sat by, completely motionless, his focused gaze fixed on Mi Jing. His gentle black eyes seemed intent on capturing her every expression and cherishing them.

Grandma listened earnestly as Mi Jing spoke. After watching her demonstration once, excitement and anticipation glittered in Grandma’s eyes. "Let me try," she said eagerly.

Taking the fishing rod from Mi Jing again, Grandma’s face was lit with a jubilant expression. Her eyes, sharp and sunken when not smiling, now sparkled with golden joy.

Summarizing from certain aspects, Mi Jing was considered meticulous. Grandma’s happy emotions were evident on her face; anyone without severe vision issues could notice.

Seeing Grandma’s relaxed and happy expression, a sense of accomplishment and joy surged within Mi Jing’s heart. Instinctively, she smiled. Then, lifting her gaze, she coincidentally met Shen Lingxing’s deep eyes staring directly at her.

In just an instant, Mi Jing was knocked out!

A man like him, outstandingly handsome, could easily attract attention with just his presence. Besides, he was watching her with such quiet, unrestrained tenderness.

Though she wasn’t a bimbo, she still had a bit of a romantic, girlish heart. Faced with his enchanting gaze, how could she stay calm and composed?

Abruptly, her heart lost control. Accompanying the quick pounding in her chest, an unusual warmth rose in Mi Jing’s cheeks, a mix of shyness and sweetness. In a trance, she felt surrounded by a magnet field called happiness, making her feel slightly weightless.

Facing such a gentle man, she thought, probably no woman could resist...

Does his tenderness belong solely to her?

Hadn’t he once looked at the doctor with a well-endowed figure in the same way he looked at Senior Xinchen?

Suddenly, an inexplicable sourness welled up in Mi Jing’s heart. She didn’t know why this name, heard only once, abruptly popped into her mind!

Immediately, thoughts mixed with sourness and surprise successfully replaced the sweetness in her heart. Mi Jing glared at Shen Lingxing irritably, as if to ask, "Why are you staring at me?"

Shen Lingxing noted the momentary changes in her expression, but couldn’t quite decipher what she was thinking. On seeing her glare with a hint of coquettishness, he believed she was shy and didn’t ponder further.

"Honey, I don’t know how to fish either. Can you come teach me?" Shen Lingxing glanced at the black box holding the fishing rod at his feet, then smiled at Mi Jing.

"Wait your turn, I haven’t learned yet!"

Before Mi Jing could speak, a disapproving gaze from Grandma shot at Shen Lingxing. His smile froze momentarily upon hearing his grandma’s complaint, and he wisely remained silent.

Watching Shen Lingxing’s awkward expression, Mi Jing couldn’t help laughing mischievously. She then grabbed a chair, sat beside Grandma, and they concentrated on fishing together, leaving Shen Lingxing on the sidelines.

Whew——

Shen Lingxing sighed helplessly. Watching the elder and younger ignoring him, he gloomily munched on strawberries.

After a while, there was movement on the water. A series of bubbles surfaced. freewebnσvel.cѳm

Grandma was patient, showing surprise but not saying anything, while Mi Jing remained silent to avoid scaring away the fish approaching the hook.

Without a word, Mi Jing and Grandma exchanged glances, their eyes filled with smiles. Under the sunlight, their sparkling eyes gleamed. The next second, both keen observers saw the end of the fishing rod dip slightly. Immediately, they felt immense joy!

"Grandma, reel it in quickly," Mi Jing excitedly whispered.

Grandma didn’t respond verbally, her excitement mixed with nervousness, yet her actions were calm and steady, quickly reeling in the line.

Snap——

With a splash, a fish leapt out of the water, shining in the sunlight. Grandma’s and Mi Jing’s eyes gleamed as they admired the fish’s plump figure, overjoyed.

"Jingjing, we caught a big fish!" Grandma stood up, smiling broadly, as she prepared to unhook the fish.

"It looks like Grandma has quite the skills and luck!" Mi Jing responded with a smile, bringing the water bucket she had prepared to Grandma’s side, then helping her unhook the fish and drop it into the bucket.

As a neglected observer, Shen Lingxing silently watched the hooked fish, feeling it hardly matched the description of "big." But seeing Grandma’s and Mi Jing’s joy, his mood lifted too.

These two were very important women in his life. Their happiness deeply affected him.

"Grandma, do you like eating fish?" Mi Jing casually asked, poking the lively fish with her finger.

"I do like it."

With a fish caught, Grandma’s confidence and sense of achievement soared. Proudly, she started playing with the bait herself.
