First Immortal of the Sword-Chapter 1983: Dying Like This Is Quite Good Too
Chapter 1983: Dying Like This Is Quite Good Too
Clang!
The enraged hum of a sword resounded throughout the nine heavens.
The Sword of Proximity hovered in the air, chaos sword qi rumbling and booming and crushing the nearby skies.
The blade of the sword dripped with blood.
The blood belonged to Su Yi. Earlier, while fleeing and battling, Su Yi gripped the Sword of Proximity. There was no avoiding blood dripping down his palm and onto the blade.
Now, the Sword of Proximity, the third of the Nine Mysteries of Chaos, was completely enraged!

Everyone present was shaken, no exceptions.
The Rahu Yao Ancestor looked on in horror. A sword had injured his avatar of will!!
“That’s the Sword of Proximity, one of the Nine Mysteries of Chaos,” the Angler said softly.
The sword’s rank was even higher than the Book of Karma’s; it was second only to the Blade of Heaven’s Loathing. And they said the sword’s power wasn’t the least bit inferior to the blade’s. Both were naturally formed Epoch Treasures born of the Immortal Realm’s chaos source, and both hid enormous profundities!
“Ah, so it’s that secret chaos treasure,” said Master God Tian Huang, his gaze heated and eager.
Whoosh!
The Sword of Proximity erupted with a chaos sword rain. It wrapped around Su Yi, then shot ahead.
“Stop that sword!” Wenren Qin tossed the Magic Fire Blazing Summer Rope, and it whooshed through the air.
The other Master Gods attacked too.
Boom!
Heaven and earth were thrown into upheaval. The sky exploded and split.
The Sword of Proximity’s chaos sword force had actually blocked the joint onslaught of five Master Gods’ avatars of will!
Its power caused a massive uproar once more.
Meanwhile, the Sword of Proximity seized the opportunity to slice open the sky and carry Su Yi into the distance.
“After it! That treasure might be strong, but it can’t stop us all!” bellowed the Severed Heavens Demon Master.
The others chased the sword with all their might. All of them were dead set on capturing Su Yi.
The way they saw it, Su Yi didn’t just have the secrets of reincarnation. He had that unfathomable, mysterious Dao Sword, and numerous other unparalleled treasures like the Sword of Proximity.
Even Master Gods like them were tempted.
“Have you finally accepted me as your master?” Su Yi asked. With the Sword of Proximity’s power enveloping him, he no longer needed to flee on his own power.
As he spoke, he stuffed a stalk of divine medicine into his mouth and chewed.
The Sword of Proximity hummed and released a wisp of intent. “Master, your sword heart is unbreakable and unparalleled. You’ve won my respect. From this day forth, I am willing to serve you!”
Its voice was, as expected, a metallic hum.
Su Yi smiled. He was obviously wretched and thoroughly brutalized; his wounds couldn’t have been any worse. His body looked like it was about to fall apart.
He didn’t care in the slightest. On the contrary, he even took out a jug of wine and drank with relish.
But a moment later, he coughed violently…
“I truly wouldn’t have thought you’d accept me as your master at a time like this,” said Su Yi as he wiped the blood from his lips.
The Book of Karma had told him that not even gods could use the Sword of Proximity without first earning its approval.
“Earning its approval” was one thing. “Being accepted as its master” was something else entirely. It was only when the sword acknowledged someone as its master that it could display its true power!
There was no doubt about it. The Sword of Proximity’s sudden burst of power meant that Su Yi had won it over, and it now willingly accepted him as its master!
“Master, even in the face of insurmountable peril, you fought on without fear. Your cultivation base might be paltry, but that fearless Dao Heart is far beyond other people!” the Sword of Proximity transmitted with undisguised admiration.
Su Yi could tell that he’d really won it over. It had never so much as said a single word to him before this!
Meanwhile, Su Yi saw that towering chaos wall in the distance, as well as the massive chaos whirlpool at its center.
The whirlpool was incomparably terrifying. As it revolved, a spacetime storm ripped the surrounding skies asunder, and the chaos source power erupting from the vortex enveloped the entire stretch of heaven and earth.
When Su Yi looked over, he just so happened to spot a dazzling streak of divine light shooting out of the whirlpool and tearing through the sky.
An Epoch Fragment!
Could that whirlpool be the chaos source of the Epoch Battlefield? Su Yi wondered.
“The Chaos Dao Cave! The origin of the Epoch Battlefield, as well as the Immortal Realm’s chaos source!”
“The Epoch Fragments of the Epoch Battlefield first appear in the Chaos Dao Cave, and it’s only in the cave’s vicinity that you have hope of finding supreme Epoch Fragments!”
A clamor of voices arose behind Su Yi. The gods chasing him were all visibly excited.
The Chaos Dao Cave.
After arriving in the Epoch Battlefield, they bitterly sought out this land of opportunity. None of them would have guessed that they’d find it while chasing Su Yi!
This was completely beyond their expectations, an unanticipated delight.
“Could this be an act of fate?” someone whispered.
The Chaos Dao Cave’s power completely sealed off the road ahead, like a natural, insurmountable barrier. That in turn meant that there was nowhere left for Su Yi to run!
Even more exciting was that after they captured Su Yi, they could stand outside of the Chaos Dao Cave and vie for the Epoch Fragments that spurted out of the whirlpool!
“Don’t tell me that the heretic wants to flee into the Chaos Dao Cave?” The Angler’s eyelids twitched.
“Impossible!” Master God Tian Huang said without even pausing to think. “The Chaos Dao Cave contains the source power of the entire Immortal Realm. It’s sufficient to eradicate even gods. If he goes in, he’ll die beyond a doubt!”
“‘Impossible?’ Don’t forget that he’s the Heretic Reincarnator! Nothing is impossible for him!” the Severed Heavens Demon Master said icily. “When the time comes, you’d all best take out your true trump cards. Or else….”
He’d only just said this when a shocking sword hum resounded throughout the sky. A wooden sword suddenly appeared in front of Su Yi and descended with furious power.
The Sword of Proximity was sent flying backward, its charge intercepted and its blade quivering violently.
This development caught everyone off guard.
Meanwhile, a group appeared in front of Su Yi, in just the right spot to block the road to the Chaos Dao Cave.
The leader was a seemingly youthful man in Daoist robes. This was none other than Master God Yun He of the Three Purities Daoist Court!
He was accompanied by several new gods, including Huo Jianfeng, as well as six other deities’ avatars of will.
Xi Ning and Divine Venerate Xi Yue were there too.
When Su Yi saw this, his gaze focused, and he instinctively looked at Xi Ning.
Practically simultaneously, she looked at him. When he saw his incomparably dire wounds, her heart clenched uncontrollably, and her expression filled with deep concern.
When she saw all of the gods chasing Su Yi, she felt a chill in her hands and feet, as if she’d been plunged into an icy abyss.
This was a complete death trap! In his badly wounded state, how could Su Yi possibly resolve it?
When the Angler, Master God Tian Huang, and the others saw Master God Yun He block the road ahead, their expressions darkened, and their brows furrowed.
But it was as if Master God Yun He didn’t even notice. He was fixated on the Sword of Proximity.
He smiled warmly. “That sword is rather decent. Allow me to have a look at it.”
He stretched out his hand and grabbed.
Boom!
A large hand bore down, but the Sword of Proximity’s surging chaos sword qi neutralized the strike. Its hums shook the heavens as it carried Su Yi and shot ahead, trying to break through the multi-layered encirclement to reach the Chaos Dao Cave.
“What a treasure!” Master God Yun He let out a long laugh, waved his wooden sword, and clashed with the Sword of Proximity.
“Attack together!” roared the Rahu Yao Ancestor as he charged explosively.
What need did he have to fear a fellow Master God?
The Angler, Master God Tian Huang, Wenren Qin, and the Severed Heavens Demon Master attacked without hesitation. All of them attacked the Sword of Proximity!
Rather, it was trying to protect Su Yi, and they were all trying to seize him!
The situation was instantly perilous to the extreme. Xi Ning felt suffocated just watching, and her jade-like hands clenched tight. Endless grief and deep, overwhelming helplessness surged within her heart.
She’d yet to achieve divinity. How could she possibly participate in this battle of deities?
She instinctively glanced at her great aunt, Divine Venerate Xi Yue, who sighed and shook her head. She’d long since anticipated this. Su Yi was now the prey of several Master Gods at once. No one in the Epoch Battlefield could save him now.
Xi Ning’s heart sank into the pit of her stomach.
Boom!
The sounds of combat shook the heavens, and the entire stretch of heaven and earth descended into chaos.
The Master Gods’ divine majesty was incomparably terrifying. They surrounded the Sword of Proximity, relentlessly suppressing it and forcing it back to the point that it almost couldn’t fight back.
“Master, in a moment, I’ll do everything in my power to open a path to survival. This will be your only chance, so please make sure you seize it. No matter what, you cannot die here!” transmitted the Sword of Proximity.
Its voice was full of endless hatred and determination. “And there’s no need to worry about me. Even if our enemies suppress me, I'll be fine!”
Su Yi took a deep breath and agreed. This was a critical juncture; there was no room left for him to consider anything else.
“Little Monkey, I’ll be relying on you to enter the Chaos Dao Cave,” transmitted Su Yi.
“Chee chee!” The monkey repeatedly nodded.
“Miss Xi Ning, whatever you do, don’t get involved. These scumbags can’t kill me!” Su Yi transmitted to the distant Xi Ning.
Xi Ning looked at him, visibly conflicted. She was just about to say something when…
Boom!
The Sword of Proximity erupted with terrifying sword force, like a long-dormant volcano of chaos sword qi.
A single attack broke through the Master Gods’ joint efforts to suppress it!
Startled cries arose on all sides. No one had anticipated that the sword would be this heaven-defying.
Meanwhile, the sword fired a beam of light that wrapped around Su Yi and tore through the skies, carrying him to the distant Chaos Dao Cave.
“Dammit!” The Master Gods’ expressions shifted, but just as they were about to give chase, the Sword of Proximity rumbled and boomed as if frenzied. It attacked the Master Gods with all its might, firmly locking them down.
Su Yi immediately charged through their encirclement. He didn’t hesitate to take out the Divine Replenishment Furnace and the little monkey.
But then, a figure appeared out of nowhere. It was the newly ascended god, Huo Jianfeng!
It was almost as if he had precognition. He swung his palm and attacked Su Yi from behind at just the right moment.
“Watch out!” Xi Ning cried out frantically.
Su Yi had yet to even turn around when Xi Ning appeared behind him.
A moment later, a muffled, massive impact rang out, scattering divine light.
Su Yi turned around just in time for Xi Ni Ning to land in his arms. There was now a startling, bloody hole through her delicate frame, and it gushed a waterfall of blood.
Her beautiful face was pale and contorted with agony as her life force rapidly flowed away.
In that moment—
Boom!
Su Yi felt as if he’d been struck by lightning. His eyes widened, and he instinctively hugged Xi Ning tight.
“Dying like this is quite good too….” Xi Ning murmured, her voice weak. She stretched out her hand to caress Su Yi’s face, only for it to fall limply to the ground.
Awareness fled her, and her once starry eyes dimmed.
