Chapter 489: Chapter 391: Divine Mountain of the Gods

No one responded to the protagonist’s words, evidently those people didn’t think that gods’ assassination was a good idea, nor did they believe it could lead to meteoric success.

Some of those who were timid even began to retreat without a trace.

Clearly, they all believed the protagonist was doomed.

The protagonist didn’t mind.

He turned and looked at a nearby dragon, asking, "What about you, want to snatch a divine position?"

The surrounding dragons heard this and their eyes trembled simultaneously.

The protagonist undoubtedly spoke to the desires in their hearts.

The eleven god-level magicians of the Magic World were all human magicians.

Ever since the Dragon God’s law was taken by the True Dragon, the Dragon Race hadn’t seen a new Dragon God emerge for hundreds of thousands of years.

If they could advance to the Dragon God’s position, ruling Dragon Island in the future wouldn’t be a problem.

However.

Those dragons looked at the terrified expressions of the human magicians around them, and hesitated.

Dragons were not adept at plotting.

They had dominated the Magic World for hundreds of thousands of years, relying on their powerful bodies and strong Dragon Language Magic.

Faced with the protagonist’s invitation, those dragons were both tempted and hesitant.

The temptation came from greed, hesitation from lack of wisdom.

The protagonist saw the situation and immediately knew these dragons were hopeless cases.

He said no more and instead looked at the human magicians.

He asked, "How can we find those god-level magicians?"

Upon these words, all the magicians looked at each other.

Only then did they realize that the protagonist wasn’t joking.

He truly intended to assassinate the gods!

Realizing this, the magicians who had been retreating began to run even faster.

Fearing that the god-level magicians’ wrath might involve them.

Patriarch Hera’s expression changed repeatedly.

Having the longest interaction with the protagonist, his attitude and emotions towards him were also the most complex.

Initially, Patriarch Hera viewed the protagonist as an ally of his nemesis, ready to kill him.

Then, witnessing the protagonist’s strength, Patriarch Hera planned to use him to eliminate his enemies.

When he found the protagonist unruly and after indirectly gathering some secrets from him, the thought of selling him out to the god-level magicians emerged.

Immediately after, when the protagonist suddenly could use Dragon Language Magic, significantly raising his status and influence, Patriarch Hera shifted from betrayal to temporary exploitation.

Up until now, realizing the protagonist intended to assassinate the gods, Patriarch Hera abandoned all illusions about him.

All of Patriarch Hera’s entanglements with the protagonist were for family prosperity.

Since the protagonist was determined to seek death, let him go then.

They wouldn’t follow him to the grave!

With this in mind, Patriarch Hera retreated two steps, to show he was distancing himself from the protagonist.

He solemnly said, "The god-level magicians are in the Divine Hall; if you want to find them, you can only go to Mount of the Gods!"

The protagonist’s eyes lit up: "Where is Mount of the Gods?"

"Heavenly Horse Prairie!" Hera replied almost reflexively.

The protagonist paused: "Heavenly Horse Prairie again?"

Upon saying this, he instinctively looked towards Zhao Yi.

Zhao Yi also heard the conversation over there.

He asked Hertz beside him, "What’s special about Heavenly Horse Prairie? Is that where the unicorns are, and also where the god-level magicians of the Magic World are?"

Hertz quickly said, "Teacher, you got the sequence wrong."

"What do you mean?" Zhao Yi asked.

Hertz explained, "First, the god-level magicians chose Heavenly Horse Prairie, and then Mount of the Gods descended. Because of the divine presence, it attracted unicorns, known for their purity and holiness."

Zhao Yi pondered: "So, are those god-level magicians confirmed to be on Heavenly Horse Prairie?"

Hertz shook his head: "There’s no way to confirm! The presence of god-level magicians isn’t something ordinary people can probe; they can be said to be everywhere, no one knows their true whereabouts."

Zhao Yi nodded slightly: "Then we’ll take it one step at a time! First head to Heavenly Horse Prairie; if those god-level magicians are still there, we’ll take them down. If not, we’ll catch the unicorns!"

The Nether Tree had already begun invading the Spirit Realm.

It wouldn’t be long before the sages of the Spirit Realm noticed something amiss.

Once they realized the scale of the threat the Spirit Realm and the Three Thousand Small Worlds would face, they would come seeking themselves.

So Zhao Yi didn’t need to do anything, just wait.

Hertz couldn’t help but twitch his mouth upon hearing Zhao Yi’s words.

In his heart, he felt that while this teacher was excellent in many ways, his words were sometimes utterly unreliable.

Those are god-level magicians!

Deities who ruled the Magic World for hundreds of thousands of years!

And yet in Zhao Yi’s words, vanquishing them seemed as easy as killing a chicken.

Utterly outrageous!

Zhao Yi saw the change in Hertz’s expression but didn’t say anything.

He wasn’t a deity, couldn’t make everyone believe in him.

And even deities couldn’t change and eliminate the prejudices in others’ hearts.

As long as the old fellow didn’t mess things up, he could think whatever he liked.

In his mind, Zhao Yi even developed a wicked amusement.

He hoped that when the old fellow saw the god-level magicians he had devoutly worshipped for a lifetime being easily disposed of by Zhao Yi, his steadfast beliefs wouldn’t collapse nor should the person fall apart!

Of course, this was Zhao Yi’s ideal scenario.

Whether he could assassinate the gods this time depended mostly on the ability of the Nine Dragon Seal.

If it couldn’t handle those god-level magicians, Zhao Yi would need to immediately take his leave!

After concluding their discussion, the outcome on the protagonist’s side was also clear.

Upon learning that the protagonist had decided to change direction and head to Heavenly Horse Prairie to assassinate the gods, the magicians and dragons around him became noticeably agitated.

The group split into two.

One part insisted on following the original route, continuing to roam the Magic World.

They believed that if the Eye of Boundary attracted enough attention from the god-level magicians, the god-level magicians would naturally descend, without the need to travel as far as Heavenly Horse Prairie.

Of course, that was just what they said.

Deep down, they didn’t want the protagonist to come into contact with the god-level magicians so quickly.

The protagonist hadn’t yet revealed the method for cultivating Dragon Language Magic, and he still had value. It would be a pity if he died just like that.

The other part agreed with the protagonist heading to Heavenly Horse Prairie.

They were timid and almost scared out of their wits upon learning of the protagonist’s intent to assassinate the gods.

They feared that after the protagonist was slain by the god-level magicians, they would also be implicated and ultimately meet a tragic end.

This journey to Heavenly Horse Prairie was taken partly to dissociate themselves from the protagonist, and partly to seek merit with the god-level magicians.

There hadn’t been a gods’ assassin in the Magic World for tens of thousands of years.

Now suddenly, there was someone bold enough to attempt it, and the god-level magicians might find it novel.

If pleased, they might even bestow some rewards.

Almost all of the good things in the Magic World had been plundered by those god-level magicians.

Ordinary magicians lived rather tight lives.

Anything casually leaked from the god-level magicians’ hands would be enough for these magicians to enjoy for a long time!
