Favorite of the Beast-world: I Got Rich Through Farming-Chapter 98 - 94: Never Betray
Perhaps it was because they were Snake Beastmen, but they seemed to have an innate talent for crafting fine garments from their Snake Sheddings to win their mates’ affection.
Even though this was Mi Yin’s first time making clothes, his hands moved with exceptional skill. He even used a few strands of her long hair in place of thin leather strips, threading them through and stitching the edges of the hide before having her try it on.
If it didn’t fit, he would adjust it, and she would try it on again.
Since these were undergarments, they had to be as comfortable as possible.
The only problem was that Mi Yin snuck in a few gropes while he worked. She was quite annoyed, but she couldn’t bring herself to be too harsh when she looked at his handsome, bashfully pleading face.
"...Is it a little too big?"
An Jin looked down and saw a concave spot on the small top. She didn’t have the flesh to fill it out.
"It will fit after we mate. You’ll develop more." Unsure which word had set him off, Mi Yin suddenly grew aroused and pulled her into his arms from behind.
The man lowered his head and stole a kiss from her lips. His long fingers gently kneaded her waist before he moved his lips to her ear, his voice deliberately seductive. "Once I’m more familiar with your body, I’ll alter it to fit you even better."
An Jin was speechless. ’His intentions were as clear as day.’
Seeing that she was ignoring his advances and showed no interest in his topic, Mi Yin felt a little dejected. He leaned closer to her face and nuzzled against her cheek like a pouting child. "The old Snake Shedding is too worn. After I go through my next shedding, I’ll make you another set of these."
"Okay."
Now this piqued An Jin’s interest.
She was genuinely curious what underwear made from Snake Shedding would be like.
She had seen the clothes Mi Yin wore in his human form, which were also made from Snake Shedding. They were form-fitting, thin, soft, and breathable. The red-and-black color combination was also lustrous and beautiful.
A woman’s private areas are delicate and need protection. An Jin had been racking her brain for a substitute, afraid the sanitary pads made of beast hide would cause an infection. But unexpectedly, Xi had used Shark Sha to sew a whole stack of them for her.
Merfolk were skilled at weaving, and the precious Shark Sha was worth a fortune.
An Jin couldn’t understand how Xi, a deep-sea fish who seemed to do nothing but blow bubbles in his bucket all day, had suddenly produced so much Shark Sha.
But she had to admit, the Shark Sha was both breathable and soft, making it incredibly comfortable to use. Most importantly, it was perfectly clean and posed no risk of infection.
An Jin smoothed the folds of her beast-hide skirt, overjoyed. She couldn’t help but mumble, "If only this could be mass-produced..."
Xi shuddered and cried out in distress, "Sob... Shark Sha is extremely precious! It can’t be mass-produced! There’s no more after this!!"
He was terrified Ah Jin would think Shark Sha was common and underestimate the depth of his feelings. These seven or eight bolts of fabric were the fruit of his life’s work, created since he was a child.
If An Jin hadn’t needed them for her heat, he would have been reluctant to let anyone else even glance at these treasures.
Hmph! Xi shot a furtive glare at the lazy Snake Beast and gnashed his teeth. ’Who said I’m useless!’
’The females of our clan love using our Shark Sha the most when they’re in heat!’
’Ah Jin must be absolutely crazy about me right now!’
Perhaps because it was her first time, An Jin didn’t bleed too much, but her stomach would cramp intermittently. Fortunately, with the underwear and sanitary pads prepared, she just had to endure the pain for a couple of days and it would pass.
"Clan Leader! People from the Barbarian Bear Tribe are outside! Should we take them in?!" a Beastman reported, rushing into the room.
An Jin was weaving a basket. She set down the rattan strips and looked up at the Beastman. "The Barbarian Bear Tribe?"
’Aren’t they the tribe that committed arson?’
"Yes!"
The Beastman scratched his head, completely at a loss. It was precisely this tribe’s history that made everyone hate them to the bone.
That was why he had rushed over in such a panic to ask for the Clan Leader’s decision.
An Jin frowned. She pushed herself up, using the wall for support, and glanced vaguely out the window before turning to the Beastman. "Take me to them."
The Barbarian Bear Tribe had committed a heinous act of arson, earning them the scorn of all Beastmen. They had barely survived the rainy season on meager rations but failed to endure the cold season.
As their tribe teetered on the brink of collapse, not a single neighboring tribe was willing to offer them aid.
When An Jin went down to see them, she found that the once-great Barbarian Bear Tribe was now reduced to just twenty or thirty Beastmen. Seven or eight gaunt, dark-skinned females trembled behind the males, their tear-filled eyes pleading for pity.
They were in the worst possible condition, even more starved and wretched than the Beastmen she had taken in previously.
Sometime before, the Barbarian Bear Tribe had been attacked by a flock of eagles. Their Clan Leader was killed, and the remaining Beastmen fought amongst themselves for the position, plunging the tribe into chaos.
To make matters worse, the food they had received from the last tribal exchange was only a third of the usual amount. Frequent beast tides had also destroyed their homes, and many Beastmen had starved or frozen to death.
There was no hope left for this old tribe, which had existed for nearly a hundred years.
The nearby Giant Tiger Tribe was watching them like a hawk and seized the opportunity, while they were at their weakest, to invade the Barbarian Bear Tribe’s territory.
The Bear Beastmen of the Barbarian Bear Tribe were reduced to slaves.
Most of the males were slaughtered, while the females were kept as communal partners for the Giant Tiger Tribe’s Beastmen to use for their release, as well as for breeding.
These twenty or thirty Bear Beastmen were the strongest of the survivors.
Amid the slaughter and pursuit, they had fought desperately to protect their females and escape. Now, their bodies were covered in wounds, and they were weak and haggard.
"Please, we’re begging you! The other tribes around here will only accept our females, not us males. But without our protection, who knows how they’ll treat them?!"
"As long as you take us in and give our females something to eat, we’re willing to give our lives to you!"
As they spoke, the burly men began to weep, smearing tears and snot across their faces. Several even fell to their knees, begging humbly.
An Jin’s expression was ice-cold as she looked at them, revealing no trace of pity or sympathy.
Even though she knew the arson had been their Clan Leader’s decision—an order these common Beastmen could only obey—An Jin still felt an unshakable aversion toward them.
She and Mi Yin had nearly died in that fire; that was an unchangeable fact.

"..."
An Jin took a deep breath, pulled her fur coat tighter around herself, and stepped forward. Her voice was clear and cool. "In that case, why don’t you tell me what use you are?"
The kneeling Beastmen were overjoyed. They knew their past crimes were heinous and had already given up hope.
They scrambled over each other to answer. "We’re incredibly strong! We can dig caves! Mine ore! Hunt, haul stone—we can do anything!"
"The distant mountains are full of mineral resources, all of them rare and precious! We Bear Beasts have a natural talent for mining!"
Mineral resources. That struck a chord with An Jin.
The tribe’s population was nearing its limit, and she had been looking for Beastmen with talents for mining and farming.
An Jin spoke. "I can let you join the tribe, but I’ll lay down the ground rules first."
"My impression of you is not a good one. If you harbor any ill will and betray the tribe, you will be exiled and hunted down."
The female’s expression was frigid. Though she looked small and slender, she possessed a naturally convincing aura.
The Bear Beastmen felt their breath catch in their throats as cold sweat beaded on their brows. "Please rest assured, we will never betray you! If we do, you can do as you please with our females!"
