Favorite of the Beast-world: I Got Rich Through Farming-Chapter 35: Discovering the Snake Beast’s Traces
They quickly turned to look, clearing a path for the young female behind them.
An Jin stared in amazement at the five or six large white worms writhing on the ground. They were about half a meter long and looked remarkably like silkworms.
They had just been... prehistorically supersized.
"Is there anything we can do?" Seeing it was An Jin, several male Beastmen eagerly asked.
It was a strange thing. While the females of the Beast World were generally plain-looking, the males were all handsome and rugged. They had sun-kissed skin, a healthy and vibrant air, and perfect muscle definition that highlighted their strong, alluring physiques.
Several of the male Beastmen surreptitiously tugged at their hide kilts, revealing more of their impressive physiques in an attempt to catch the female’s eye.
"..." The corner of An Jin’s mouth twitched. ’As expected of the Primordial Beast World,’ she thought. ’The males here are so bold and open.’
She averted her gaze and gestured for the Beastmen to come closer. "I do actually need some help. If you all have time, could you help me move these Water Giant Worms to my... to the open space in front of Ling Hong’s house?"
"Absolutely not!" the males immediately protested.
The worms posed no threat to them, but they could still be dangerous to a delicate female.
They were staunchly against it.
An Jin quickly explained, "I know what I’m doing. I know these worms are dangerous, but they might actually have other uses. If handled properly, they could be a great contribution to the tribe."
After a moment’s thought, she added, "That’s why I’d like you to help me move some stones and wooden planks to build an enclosure for them in that open area. That way, they won’t be able to run around or hurt anyone."
When she finished, An Jin tilted her head at them and asked uncertainly, "Can you do that?"
The young female’s smile was bright and confident, as if she were glowing. It dazzled them, and several of the males clutched at their wildly pounding hearts.
’Yes! Yes! Of course, we can! How could we possibly say no?’
These worms moved very slowly. If they were penned up, they really wouldn’t be dangerous.
The males worked quickly. Each one hoisted two of the large worms, and in no time, they had moved all the fat creatures to the open space in front of the house.
Then, they worked together again, hauling massive stone blocks that were half a head taller than they were. They piled the heavy stones one on top of another, creating a wall three to four meters high that enclosed the worms on all sides.
While An Jin was still marveling at their efficiency, they even thoughtfully built a small stone staircase into one of the walls, making it easy for someone of her smaller stature to check on the worms’ condition.
An Jin was utterly impressed. ’When these Beastmen get to work,’ she thought, ’they’re even more incredible than modern automated machinery!’
...
Amidst An Jin’s busy life of planning to plant seeds and raise her giant worms, time passed in a full and fleeting blur.
Night fell, cloaking the entire forest in shadow. A cold, gloomy mountain wind whipped up. Deep in the jungle, several Wolf Beasts lay in wait, poised to strike the "enemy" before them.
The leader was a sleek, powerful Silver Wolf—none other than Ling Hong, who had been gone for many days.
While hunting a few days prior, he had stumbled upon tracks left by the Snake Beast. He had immediately led his pack to search the area and had been here for some time.
Normally, Snake Beasts were cunning creatures, skilled at hiding. This one had tried to snatch a female from the tribe, only to be ambushed and severely wounded by Ling Hong. He had vanished for nearly a month, so it was a surprise to see him reappear near the tribe’s territory.
’Could it be he still wants to take An Jin?’
At the thought, his lupine pupils constricted. The Silver Wolf viciously ground his fangs. In the darkness, his emerald eyes glinted with a cold light, fixed on the black and red shadow of the snake not far ahead.
