Xi pulled her back, locking her tightly in his arms. He lowered his voice and murmured:
"I’m not sick."
Caught off guard, An Jin stumbled into his embrace, her hands unconsciously wrapping around his neck as he leaned down. She looked up at him, stunned. "Then what is this...?"
The Merfolk before her was breathtakingly beautiful, with a cool and aloof air. His deep blue, slitted pupils were fixed on her, his long, curled eyelashes usually tinged with a hint of allure.
"Ah Jin, do you like me?"
He suddenly asked.
This wasn’t the first time he’d asked her that. He often pestered her, asking, "Do you like me?" or "Does Ah Jin like Xi?" like a carefree child seeking affection, and An Jin would always give him the answer he wanted.
But this time was different.
His earnest tone and solemn expression were nothing like they had been before.
An Jin quickly realized what kind of "like" he meant.
Perhaps because of Xi’s usual personality, An Jin had always seen him as a lively, adorable little brother. She had never considered *this* kind of "like," but now...
She gazed at the exquisite, alluring Little Merfolk before her, her fingertips lightly tracing the contours of his face. Only then did she realize that the Little Merfolk of her memories had grown up.
His features were sharp and coolly handsome. He was tall and lean, with broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and sleekly defined muscles. His serious expression carried a faint, oppressive weight...
’How could he possibly still be the "little brother" I once knew?’
His Adam’s apple bobbed. Xi lowered his head, his blue eyes deepening like the vast ocean. Her delicate, smooth hand was caressing his sensitive skin, kindling sparks with every touch.
The heat from a certain part of his body began to radiate outward.

Sensing that the delicate hand on his face was about to pull away, Xi quickly grabbed it and pressed it against his cheek. "Please, touch Xi a little more..."

Xi took her hand, placing his over it and guiding it across his face, letting her feel his skin.
From his exquisite eyes and brows to his sharply defined jaw, then to his sexy, prominent Adam’s apple, and then to his wonderfully firm pectoral and abdominal muscles... His other hand then guided hers to the small of his back.
The sleek, deep curve of his waist was so sexy it could drive a person wild.
The skin beneath her hand grew scalding hot. Startled, An Jin came to her senses and tried to pull her hand away.
However, he caught her wrist, holding it fast.
The Little Merfolk murmured "Ah Jin," "Ah Jin" in a sweet, tender voice, resting his chin in the crook of her neck. Every so often, he would steal a peck from her crimson lips, all while gazing at her affectionately with those clear, innocent blue eyes... ’All right, I surrender.’
Mirror Mirror said, [Master, I feel I should remind you of something. The eyes of the Merfolk possess a natural power of enchantment. It’s an ability to lure females that they acquired through millions of years of evolutionary struggle.]
An Jin replied, "...Why didn’t you tell me sooner?"
’It’s too late now.’
She was completely drowning in those tender, soulful blue eyes. Every breath she took was a desperate gasp, like a person going under, her heart accelerating with every shift of his gaze.
Xi was so aroused that his bestial features had fully emerged. His ear fins and fish tail were now visible, and her hand was resting just below his waist, where his slightly soft scales gently brushed against her fingertips.
’If I’m not mistaken, this soft, firm, and shapely area is...’
"Ah Jin, you can try touching a little further forward..." Xi swallowed, blushing even more fiercely.
He tried to guide her hand forward.

"I’m not made of sugar, how could I taste sweet?" ’I never thought I’d hear a line straight out of a Mary Sue novel come from Xi’s mouth.’
"I don’t care. You really are sweet, and I like it... I love it. I love kissing you..." the Little Merfolk murmured dazedly, lowering his head to kiss her even more fiercely.
He pinned her to the ground, his hands braced on either side of her. His petulant manner was utterly roguish, and An Jin was completely powerless against it.
Xi felt an unprecedented change surge through his body. A flicker of dazed confusion crossed his eyes as inherited breeding instincts rapidly unlocked in his mind, playing out like countless R-rated films.

Xi pressed his lips together and looked down at her.
His whole body grew hotter. His fish tail curled slightly, a pink flush spreading over his scales...
He was flushed from head to tail, like a freshly braised fish.
He was just about to explore further down, but An Jin placed a hand on his chest, stopping its descent. "I’m not ready," she said softly. "Can we wait a little longer, okay?"

Author’s Note: I don’t think I’ve explained the hierarchy among the Mermaids, and I can’t really fit it into the main story, so I’ll explain it here.
Any of them with a fish tail are considered Mermaids. They come in all colors, and most of the Beastmen in the sea are Mermaids.
However, only the blue-tailed Mermaids of Xi’s clan can be called Merfolk. They are the only ones who can weave cloth (Shark Sha) and are the most precious among all Mermaids.
Their fish tails are also a little different; they’re much more beautiful. (When my art skills improve, I’ll draw them for you all, hahaha.)
