Favorite of the Beast-world: I Got Rich Through Farming-Chapter 283 - 186: Wanting a Scarf + Moon Wolf City
"The same color as you," he replied without hesitation.
"Okay."
Gu Yin watched her intently, as if her knitting was the most fascinating thing in the world.
No matter what she was doing, he could watch her with focused, happy attention.
He watched her slender fingers dance between the needles, a dazzling blur of motion. In just a short while, a patch of fluffy fabric emerged. ’It’s truly magical.’
"This seems a bit different from the fabrics sold in the city, doesn’t it?"
An Jin nodded, a small smile gracing her lips. "That’s because the thread they produce is different. I get this thick yarn by feeding the silkworms a special kind of fodder. The yarn they spin is extra thick and has a soft down, which makes it perfect for knitting wonderfully warm scarves and sweaters."
"This year’s batch only had a few silkworms for me to experiment with. The results seem pretty good so far, so next year I plan on raising a larger batch to produce more yarn. When I have enough, I can start selling it in the city."
"If you don’t have enough, I can help you catch more."
"Mhm!"
Realizing her arms might be getting a little sore, Gu Yin leaned down and stole a kiss. Before she could react, he slid from her lap, shifted into his beast form, and curled up beside her.
He seemed a bit uncomfortable, so he shifted again, resting his snake head on her soft thigh. Finding a comfortable spot, he quickly fell asleep.
The yarn produced by the silkworms was all white, but she had bought primary color dyes from her space, allowing her to mix a wide variety of beautiful colors.
An Jin knitted herself an orange-yellow scarf and made a rose madder one for Gu Yin.
’Fine, she still thought red suited him best. It made him look like a devastatingly handsome devil, unbelievably beautiful.’
"Look, there’s even a little snake here. Doesn’t it look like a miniature version of your beast form?" An Jin stood on her tiptoes, wrapping the scarf around his neck and tying it carefully.
Gu Yin touched the little snake on the scarf, his fingers sinking into the soft, cloud-like texture. He felt his heart melt, and a faint smile graced his lips.
"I love it."
’He’d love anything she made for him with her own hands.’
Then, out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of a midnight-blue scarf on the table. Its ends were meticulously embroidered with a snow wolf design.
The smile on Gu Yin’s face faded, and his lips tightened.
"I’m glad you like it." An Jin pulled out about ten balls of yarn in several different, non-repeating colors. "I have a lot more here, and since I’m just idling at home, I was planning on knitting a scarf for everyone. Let’s see... Blue for Xi, I think, and then..."
"I thought I was going to be the only one," Gu Yin said, turning his head to look at her, his voice low and dejected.
An Jin quickly realized he was jealous. She thought for a moment, then smiled. "I was always planning to knit one for everyone—five in total. But I made yours first. I wanted you to be the very first person to wear a scarf I knitted."
Gu Yin’s mood finally improved. Though his face remained impassive, the tail coiled on the floor gave a distinct, happy swish.
"It’s a shame I don’t have enough yarn this year. Next year, I can knit you a sweater. How does that sound?"
"Okay. But you have to knit mine first again," he commanded in a playfully demanding tone, hugging her from behind.
Before she could answer, the sudden sound of great wings beating, snow falling, and someone tumbling to the ground came from outside. An Jin rushed to open the door, and Song Yi stumbled right into her.
"What’s wrong? Why are there so many of you here?" An Jin asked, instinctively steadying him.
"No, it’s not about us. Something has happened at Beast Gathering City."
Song Yi’s brow was tightly knit. He turned his head, his gaze falling grimly on several blood-soaked Eagle Beasts. "These are the Eagle Beasts I had stationed at Beast Gathering City. The city was attacked by Moon Wolf City, so they were trying to fly here to deliver a distress signal, but..."
"They were ambushed by those Wolf Beasts on the way. We lost several Eagle Beasts," he said, sorrow lacing his voice.
"Moon Wolf City? Why would they attack Beast Gathering City?" 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Song Yi’s expression was grim, his gaze fixed on her face. He had the subconscious urge to smooth her worried frown, but his fingers only twitched. "Moon Wolf City and Beast Gathering City aren’t far from each other. They’ve been rivals for a long time, and there’s a lot of bad blood between them."
"Also, when the great swarm of Demon Beasts flooded the continent, they didn’t just attack Beast Gathering City; the nearby Moon Wolf City was hit as well."
"The Demon Beast tide has long since receded, but their city is now facing a food shortage. It will be hard for them to survive the coming harsh winter, so they’ve set their sights on Beast Gathering City’s granaries..."
