With a piercing eagle’s shriek, a Golden Eagle, as dazzling as a streak of light, shot into the wide, dark cavern. Its talons, naturally suited for preying on Snake Beasts, ripped the black-and-red python’s flesh open.

He was utterly furious at the interruption.
The thick, powerful, black-and-red snake tail swung back and forth violently in the cave like a fiery whip, and the already unstable cave walls began to crumble, sending large boulders crashing down and gouging deep craters in the floor.
Ling Hong’s attention remained fixed on the unconscious An Jin. The sight of her drenched in blood made his eyes sting.
A massive boulder plummeted straight toward her.
"ROAR!" Without a second thought, he dove for her.
The waiting snake tail, carrying enough force to shatter mountains, whipped out at him, sending him, the Silver Wolf, and the falling boulder flying out of the cave.
The tip of its tail struck the ground heavily like a rattlesnake’s, letting out a piercing hiss. The black-and-red snake’s head rose proudly, arching a dangerous four or five meters into the air, blood still clinging to its forked, crimson tongue.
The power of an Eighth Rank Beastman was truly terrifying. Even Song Yi and Ling Hong, his natural predators, were quickly overpowered when they teamed up.
"We can’t beat this Snake Beast. We have to rescue her first."

His ruthless, blood-red pupils shrank to pinpricks, his irises almost disappearing in his fury, reflecting the image of her broken form lying in a pool of blood.
It felt as if his heart was being sliced to pieces, one cut after another. The pain was so intense it twisted his features into a savage mask.
"Get her out of here!"
Gu Yin slammed the identical snake-man against the wall, his hand tightening around his throat. His biceps bulged, and chunks of rock rained down.
’Seeing the female he’d worked so hard to hunt being carried off by that Silver Wolf infuriated Chi, but then again, the person he’d been waiting for had finally arrived.’
’Oh well. She’s not important anymore.’
"Haha, so you’re the Snake Beast Father abandoned? How pathetic. You can’t even protect your own female!" Chi cackled, a mad glint in his eyes.
BAM! With a deafening crash, Gu Yin slammed him into the rock wall. His sharp nails pierced Chi’s throat, shredding the blood vessels within.
"No one hurts her but me!" Rage erupted from Gu Yin like lava from a volcano. His face and his snake head seemed to flicker and morph between forms. He longed to rip the identical face before him right off its fragile neck.
"Why pretend you love her so much? We share the same blood. I know everything you know."
Chi licked the blood from his lips, savoring it as if it were a fine delicacy. "Her blood and flesh are so delicious. Eating her would be the most wonderful experience in the world."
"I love her, too. So much that I want to devour her in a single bite and merge with her. That is the true instinct of us Snake Beasts!"
"It’s not your place, you damned thing!"
Gu Yin roared in fury, thrusting his claws straight through Chi’s chest.
