Favorite of the Beast-world: I Got Rich Through Farming-Chapter 133 - 113: Shocking! Want to Get Stronger? You Need to Find More Husbands?
Song Yi saw her pull out two small wooden boxes from inside her clothes. She turned her back to him and fiddled with them for a moment. When she looked at him again, her face had completely changed.
Her skin was now dull and sallow, and her face was covered in small, dark spots. Her features were no longer as delicate and beautiful as before.
"...What are you doing?" His gaze lingered on her face for a moment, his curiosity piqued.
"I’m too good-looking. I was afraid your brother wouldn’t let me go." An Jin stuffed the wooden boxes back into her clothes.
If anyone else had said that, it would have sounded like narcissistic boasting, but having witnessed An Jin’s charm firsthand, Song Yi knew she was just stating a fact.
’If it were me, I wouldn’t be able to let her go either.’
’I didn’t expect the kid’s standards to suddenly improve so much after a year.’
Just as the two were making small talk, the door opened once more. The Beast Servant who had led An Jin in earlier ran in, flustered, and dropped to his knees with a THUD.
He looked at An Jin and shouted.
"I’ve been looking all over for you! You had me worried sick! Didn’t I warn you again and again not to wander in and out of the Clan Leader’s quarters? How could you—"
He saw Song Yi standing to the side with a cold expression, and the panic on his face intensified. His gaze toward An Jin was now filled with resentment.
"Weren’t you the one who brought me here?" An Jin looked at the handsome and refined Beast Servant before her, utterly bewildered.
’I don’t know what’s going on, but it’s clear this Beast Servant is trying to frame me. But why would he do that?’
’We’ve never met before, so there’s no reason for him to frame and slander me.’
It was just such a clumsy attempt, like a melodramatic plot from a grade-schooler’s story. An Jin couldn’t even be bothered to argue with the Beast Servant.
"Since you know no one is allowed in or out of my quarters without permission, who allowed you to enter?"
She hadn’t expected Song Yi to actually speak up for her.
An Jin gave him a strange look. The tall, imposing man shielded her with his body as he unhurriedly strode toward the kneeling Beast Servant.
The Beast Servant kept his head down, his panic visibly growing. He also seemed not to have expected this turn of events and was momentarily rendered speechless.
Song Yi couldn’t be bothered to look at him and walked right past the Beast Servant as if he weren’t there.
"Follow me. I’ll take you back." When he didn’t hear the female’s footsteps, he turned his head to look at her.
"Oh, right! Coming!" An Jin shot the Beast Servant a curious glance, certain they had no prior connection. She then shook her head and quickly followed Song Yi out of the room.
The man had long legs and walked quickly; An Jin had to jog just to keep up.
Fortunately, he slowed down a bit after a moment, and they walked side by side.
The Beast Servants on the first floor respectfully opened the doors of the Stone Castle for the two of them.
But a shrill eagle’s cry suddenly pierced the sky.
"SCREECH—"
’Brother, that’s the female I chose! Don’t you dare take her away!’
A Golden Feathered Giant Eagle plummeted hastily from the sky, nearly face-planting on the ground. Chi Li, who was riding on its back, was caught completely off guard and stumbled.
’Has this eagle lost its mind?’ Chi Li thought, just as his eyes swept over a familiar female figure in the distance. His gaze froze.
"An Jin?" He dismounted from the eagle’s back and stepped forward. Seeing her freckle-covered face, the corners of his mouth twitched.
’Did she really get bitten by a poisonous insect?’
If it weren’t for her familiar scent, he almost wouldn’t have recognized her.
’So I’m the one that eagle snatched. What bad luck.’
’It’s a good thing the Beast World doesn’t have a word for "melodramatic," because it would be perfect for this situation.’
"Please give me and the female some private space." Chi Li ignored Song Ke and looked earnestly at the silent Song Yi beside him.
Song Yi, of course, knew the dark spots on the female’s face were her own doing. But now that the Witch Doctor had arrived, refusing him would seem deliberate.
As he was hesitating, he caught sight of the female’s eyes curving into crescents as she flashed him a smile.
"..." Song Yi’s heart suddenly skipped a beat. He quickly got the hint and then said coolly to Chi Li, "You may."
He grabbed the heartbroken and anxious Song Ke and quickly withdrew.
A few servants led Chi Li and An Jin to the first floor of the Stone Castle, closed the door, and made sure everyone else had left.
Seeing that she was silent, Chi Li took it upon himself to open his box and take out some herbs commonly used for treating insect venom. "They said your face has toxins on it. I’m here to take a look."
An Jin lowered her gaze to his long, slender fingers. "I’m not poisoned. I drew this on my face myself."
"I know." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Chi Li’s gaze lingered on her face for a moment. His beautiful, gold-flecked fox-like eyes curved slightly, holding a hint of teasing amusement. "So, do you want to be ’cured,’ or not?"
"Of course I can’t be ’cured.’" An Jin touched her face in annoyance.
