Fated to the Alpha's Sons: An Omegas Rise to Fame-Chapter 71: Pressing Issues.
Chapter 71: Pressing Issues.
"Very bad things." Theo muttered, shaking his head. "Damn!" He cursed out loud, holding his head in his hands.
"That bad?" Tristan asked, urgency in voice, but Theo didn’t respond causing him to become even more agitated.
"Say something, man!" He couldn’t help but scold. Theo’s silence felt like a drill in his skull.
"I’m processing, Tristan." Theo gritted.
"Well, that’s the job of the damn computer, Theodore. Tell me what the fuck you’re looking at." Tristan quipped right back, not missing a breath.
Theo sighed deeply, sitting up in his seat. "This gang runs deep, Trist. It’s not a small one." He said as he started to print out the files he’d copied, while he snooped into their other records he couldn’t collect.
"We’ve established that, Theo. Please, don’t make me come to you right now." Tristan said, already on his feet, pacing about his office.
"That would be better actually." Theo quipped, his eyes and finger working rapidly.
"Seeing all of us at your place would scare her. That’s not what we want right now." Tristan reasoned. "Just give the the damn updates, Theodore."
"I’m coming, Tristan. I’m trying to get all the facts straight. I’m tracking their funding, calls, texts, everything connected to their cloud. Just give me a minute." Theo said, totally in his element of numbers, alphabets and signs.
Tristan sighed, going to sit in his seat, deciding to go back to his paper work, while Theo did his thing. Hovering around him wasn’t going to help.
"Done." Theo said after a few minutes, sighing.
"Okay?" Tristan said, putting down his papers.
"I’ve mailed you all the documents of importance I could find, open it so you can follow all the things I’m going to be explaining." Theo ordered, opening the files in a completely different screen, before leaving their server, meticulously clearing all traces of his presence on their server.
"Jesus Christ!" Tristan couldn’t help but exclaim as he looked over the documents Theo had sent. "This is terrible."
Displayed before him where letters, lists of members, banks statements, aliases, evidences of off shore accounts, evidences of shell companies, agreements, mergers- in short, it was the ground work of a huge, huge network.
It couldn’t be called a gang, because the files he was looking at were way too advanced to be owned by some gang. And neither could he say it belonged to some Mafia either, they never really cared about making any of their shit legal.
The documents he was looking were very advanced and intricate, every of their tracks woven into a perfect fabric that exuded complexity and sophistication.
"Terrible and confusing." Theo quipped, exhaustion in his voice. "Since they have all of these, why are they causing small messes around us? What is it they could want with us, why are they trying to get our attention? They could almost take us down quite easily with all of these assets, so why play the long game?" He laid down his confusion, running his hand across his face.
"It could be that or they’re trying to distract us from something else." Tristan reasoned, scrutinizing each of the documents.
"And what could that possibly be?" Theo asked. "We already have Drew’s betrayal to worry about, and we’ve not been able to mend the dent he caused yet, now this. I don’t think we’ve angered anyone this hard."
"It might not be someone or people we might have angered, but people that might actually want ground us for real." Tristan reasoned again, his brain cells processing the load of information he was downloading.
"What do you mean, Trist? Do you mean jealousy?" Theo asked, reading through the documents as well, hoping to understand where his brother was coming from.
"Looks like it, but I’ve got this gut feeling that it’s not jealousy." Tristan said, sighing deeply.
"Why is that?"
"Look at the letters and their dates. They might look like regular threats but something about their insignia and that particular last line that asks for a proof of loyalty doesn’t sit right with me. Why would an anonymous network ask conglomerates to prove their loyalties to them? It doesn’t make sense." Tristan reasoned, his eyes still scheming through the letters he had now printed.
"And I’ve just found out that some of the companies that copies of these letters were sent to have been closed down, Trist. For various reasons; bankruptcy, hostile takeovers that turned to blood baths, death of owners, government restraints among many more. This is serious." He said with furrowed eyebrows.
"Run a recognition scan for that insignia, in every single place on this earth, and cross check the dates of when these letters were sent out and when the collapses happened." Tristan ordered, pacing about his office, his posture calm but the aura around him thick enough to suffocate more than ten people.
"Already on it. Give me a few seconds." Theo said, typing away.
Tristan picked another one of the bank statements, looking through it, searching for something that could stand out.
All he needed was on slightly lose end, just one.
He dropped the document statement and picked another, his eyes scheming through it like a hawk.
"Got it. You were right, Trist. It might actually not actually be jealousy, and these people aren’t people we know." Theo said, still typing.
"Give me details, Theodore." Tristan commanded in a deep voice, his mind was processing twice s fast, he didn’t need preambles. He needed facts, as they come.
"The first letter they ever sent out, was to Grey Corp." Theo said.
"Grey Corp? Isn’t that the company that Dad admires shamelessly and still questions till today how it had suddenly crashed?" Tristan asked for clarification, his eyebrows furrowed deeply as he tried to understand everything.
"Yep, that one. And it was sent a month before the conglomerate met it’s utter demise. Many other companies followed after that. Star enterprises, Lundok, Sealer, almost every company we know that had crashed in the past. They had been sent these letters, and I think they didn’t prove their ’loyalty’, so they were erased." Theo said, swallowing the lump in his throat.
Heavy silence falling between them.
