Fated To Four Alphas Even Though I Am Mute-Chapter 58: Dark Magic And A Curse
Damian’s POV
I looked up at Mrs. Higgins.
"Is she... she dead?" I stammered. But she didn’t reply.
"Mrs. Higgins, what do you mean by... Ahh!" Desmond yelled.
"What’s happening?" he said as he clutched his chest in pain.
Dylan and Damon followed. They clutched their chests in pain too.
Then I started too. "Oh , Mrs. Higgins," I groaned crunching my chest.
The pain was crazy. I suddenly felt a sharp sting in my chest. I felt the mate bond fading. Like really, really fading.
Heaven was so close to me. But she felt so far away.
"I’m going to make a potion to help with the pain," Mrs. Higgins said in a hurry.
"W...why is this happning ?" I asked. I was stammering. I couldn’t even form a complete sentence. It was all pain and nothing else.
She didn’t reply. She hurriedly went out. Then she came back with a maid that held three cups of something. She handed them to us and we drank it, the pain immediately went away.
"Please explain what that was," Damon asked as he tried to catch his breath.
"It’s not really simple to explain, Alpha Damon," Mrs. Higgins said.
She began to check Heaven’s body. Her hand was roaming all over her body like she was looking for something
"What are you looking for?" I asked. My heart was still pounding.
"A mark. That will confirm my suspicion," Mrs. Higgins said. She sounded serious and it only make me panic more.
"Help me turn her to the side," she said.
We all moved forwards and carefully turned Heaven to the side. Mrs. Higgins pushed her dress to the side and her face turned pale, going completely white.
"What is it?" Dylan asked
"I’ve seen the mark," she said quietly.
"So?" Desmond asked. "What does that mean?"
"So it means she has been cursed.Heaven has been cursed and it is affecting the mate bond. Which is why you’re feeling pains."
"What? Cursed?" Damon said suprised.
"Who would dare to curse our own mate?" I growled.
My wolf was howling inside my head. He was angry and scared. He was asking over and over, "How is she going to survive this?"
I felt like my world was crumbling. Heaven was lying there. Cursed. Possibly dying. And I couldn’t do anything about it.
"So what are we going to do to save her and bring her back?" Dylan said. His voice was desperate.
"Make her the same potion you gave to us," I said. I was already going crazy. I kept thinking that she wouldn’t survive. That I would lose her forever.
"It’s doesn’t work that way, Alpha Damian," Mrs. Higgins said.
She shook her head. Her expression was grave.
"This isn’t the normal curse we buy in the black market."
"What do you mean?" Damon asked hurriedly. He stepped closer to Mrs. Higgins.
"She was poisoned with Moonbane venom. With just a prick of the cursed needle or sharp material to the skin, it causes the victim to fall into a very deep sleep. A sleep that makes the victim seem dead. That is the reason she didn’t have a pulse and a heartbeat," Mrs. Higgins explained.
My blood ran cold. Moonbane venom. I had heard of it before. It was deadly. Rare. And almost impossible to cure.
"So you’re saying it’s a curse?" I asked. I was trying to understand what was going on. Trying to process all of this information.
"It’s a curse that was bound by black magic and..."
"Did you say black magic?" Dylan interrupted. He sounded surprised. Shocked.
Witches were banned from our land. They were banned in almost every pack in the kingdom. But there was still a village for witches. Only under the supervision of the wolf council.
But there were still some lingering in some packs. They lived in disguise. Some lived amongst wolves. Pretending to be normal. But I didn’t think that there would be any around our pack. My father had eliminated every single one of them. He had made sure of it. Or so we thought.
"Yes, black magic," Mrs. Higgins continued. "And only a black witch with the know-how to perform a Heart Flame Ritual can break the curse."
A Heart Flame Ritual. I had never heard of such a thing. But if that’s what it took to save Heaven, then we would find a way.
"Let’s take her to Agnes," I immediately said.
Agnes was a white witch of our pack. The Full Moon Pack. It was important that our pack had a white witch for situations like this. She helped us with healing. With protection spells. With all kinds of magical problems.
"A white witch cannot perform black magic. You know that," Mrs. Higgins reminded me.
Her voice was firm. Final.
"Fuck!" I shouted in frustration.
I ran my hands through my hair. I wanted to punch something. To break something. To scream.
It was an abomination for a witch to perform black magic. How could I have forgotten? It would only corrupt their mind. It would make them evil. Turn them dark.
Werewolves were originally created by witches. So they understood us better. They could help with a lot of things. But a black witch? A corrupted witch? Where were we supposed to find one?
"I honestly don’t know where we could find one," Desmond said. He sounded defeated.
"And we need to hurry up if we want to save her. Or she will be trapped. And her body will remain dead forever," Mrs. Higgins warned.
Her words hit me like a punch to the gut. Forever. Heaven could be like this forever. Dead but not dead. Trapped in some nightmare sleep.
No. I wouldn’t let that happen.
"There is a way to get a black witch," I said.
My brothers turned to look at me. Their eyes were wide. Hopeful.
"Where?" Desmond asked. He stepped closer to me.
"Deadpine Forest. In the Valley of Asher," I said.
The name alone made everyone in the room tense. Deadpine Forest was dangerous. It was a place where even the bravest wolves feared to go. It was dark. Full of creatures that hunted in the shadows.
"I once saved a black witch there. She owed me a favor. She will help us," I explained.
"It is deep in the forest. There is a black witch named Mother Nyx."
"Mother Nyx?" Dylan repeated. "I’ve heard stories about her. They say she’s powerful. Dangerous."
"She is," I confirmed. "But she owes me a life debt. She will help us."
"When did you save her?" Damon asked.
"Three years ago. I was on a mission for Father. I found her being attacked by rogue wolves. I saved her life. She told me that if I ever needed anything, I could come to her."
"And you think she’ll actually help?" Desmond asked. He sounded skeptical.
"She has to," I said. "A life debt is sacred. Even among black witches. She won’t refuse."
Mrs. Higgins nodded slowly. "Mother Nyx is powerful enough to perform the Heart Flame Ritual. If anyone can save her, it’s her."
"Then we go to Deadpine Forest," Damon said. "We leave now."
"No," I said. "I’ll go alone."
"Like hell you will," Dylan said. "We’re all going."
"It’s too dangerous for all of us to leave the pack," I said.
I needed them to stay and protect the pack cause who knows who else is going to cursed
"And it’s too dangerous for you to go alone, We’re going with you. End of discussion." Damon said
I looked at my brothers. They all had the same determined expression. They wouldn’t back down.
"Fine," I said. "But we need to hurry up , we don’t have time"
I looked down at Heaven. She was so still and lifeless. I going to make sure that she cames back alive no matter what it cost.
