Chapter 2179: Chapter 2179: I Said I Don’t Want to See You

"Hey, wait... have you had breakfast?" Kade Yuvan hesitated for a long time, "The weather’s not too good today..."

"I’m not feeling well today. I’m resting in bed."

"Ah? Am I bothering you? I originally wanted to... invite you to dinner tonight."

"Some other time, I don’t have much appetite today. There will be opportunities later."

"Jasmine, after I went to the CEO’s office this morning, the CEO woke up. He didn’t have time for breakfast and went out again for work."

"Assistant Yuvan, don’t you know? He’s like a celestial being, and celestial beings don’t need to eat."

Kade Yuvan awkwardly cleared his throat. Jasmine Yale really had a way with words.

But the more it was like this, the more it confirmed his suspicion that the relationship between the CEO and Jasmine Yale was truly unusual, far beyond the typical superior-subordinate dynamic.

"Jasmine, the CEO is really a good person. He... he’s really good." Kade Yuvan said with some urgency.

"Diligent in work, serious, with strong abilities and high intelligence, he is indeed good."

"I..." Kade Yuvan suddenly didn’t know what to say. Jasmine Yale was quite evidently playing dumb.

"Assistant Yuvan, I’m planning to sleep a bit more. If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up the phone?"

Kade Yuvan couldn’t find any more words and had no choice but to let Jasmine Yale hang up the call.

The curtains were half-drawn, and through the bright window, Jasmine Yale looked at the misty sky outside.

It’s going to rain.

This kind of autumn day easily quiets the heart.

After finishing breakfast, her stomach felt a bit uncomfortable, so Jasmine Yale simply lay down, tightly clutching the blanket with both hands.

She turned off the light. In a daze, her eyelids kept twitching; she was very sleepy.

Such a daytime feels like night.

The little one in her belly became restless and started kicking her, and a fine layer of sweat appeared on Jasmine Yale’s forehead.

Lately, her mood had been terrible, like a calm lake being stirred, causing waves to rise.

The sky was gloomy. Jasmine Yale closed her eyes, feeling somewhat uncomfortable, with pain in her waist as well.

Sighing, her long eyelashes quivered slightly. Curled up in the blanket, she soothed the little one in her belly.

Time passed, and in the state between sleeping and waking, she heard the sound of her phone ringing.

Unable to lift her eyelids, she didn’t pick up.

The call came in again.

Only then did Jasmine Yale extend her hand to pick up the phone beside her pillow.

"Hello." She kept her eyes closed, her voice soft and weak.

"It’s me." Sylvan Cheney’s somber voice echoed.

"Oh," Jasmine Yale frowned, her lower abdomen still dull with pain.

She heard the sound of rain outside the window, pattering down.

It’s raining.

Feeling weak all over, she didn’t open her eyes.

"There’s a field of purple roses in bloom on the sunny side of South Lake in Cakago. I drove to pick a few." Sylvan Cheney’s crisp voice came through, "I’m downstairs." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

"I don’t want to see you."

"Are you feeling unwell? Your voice is very soft." Sylvan Cheney anxiously asked.

Jasmine Yale curled up by the pillow, her face pale: "I said I don’t want to see you."

"I heard."

"Hmm." Jasmine Yale furrowed her brows tightly.

"Should I come up to check on you?"

"Don’t come."

"I..."

"You must learn to respect me more."

Sylvan Cheney understood and, after a long pause, nodded, "I understand. I won’t come up."

"You should head back to the office."

"It’s raining. If you need anything, call me. I’m here." Sylvan Cheney stood downstairs, his expression calm.
