Fate-Defying Demon Emperor-Chapter 227 - 214: Thousand Changes and Transformations
At this moment, everyone was focused on the great battle between the Heavenly Demon Cult and the Seven Stars Sect, which was a fortunate turn of events for Su Han.
He took out the Thunder Light Treasure Ship, steered it directly into Mozhou, and then headed straight for the Poisonous Miasma Swamp where the Heavenly Demon Cult resided.
Although Mozhou bordered Qingzhou, its customs and culture were entirely different. After all, the Seven Stars Sect claimed to be a prestigious orthodox sect, while the Heavenly Demon Cult followed a true demonic path.
In Mozhou, it was a world where the strong preyed upon the weak—the survival of the fittest. This was true for ordinary people and Martial Artists alike. The weak bowed and scraped before the strong, seeking protection or other favors, while the strong held the power of life and death, roaming freely as they pleased.
Of course, the Heavenly Demon Cult was the unrivaled hegemon of Mozhou. Any Martial Artist or faction that encountered its members had no choice but to bow their heads.
Steering the Thunder Light Treasure Ship, Su Han encountered several bands of bandits who wanted to kill and rob him. Unfortunately for them, they had chosen the wrong prey. Not only did their robbery fail, but they were also slain by Su Han one by one, yielding him a small profit.
However, Su Han could not be bothered to waste words on them. After the slaughter and plunder, he made a beeline for the Poisonous Miasma Swamp, as he was short on time.
Hmm?
Su Han's Heart Spirit stirred as he glanced down at his Bronze Ring. The old Daoist associated with the Stellar Magnetism Primordial Body had finally awakened.
Without hesitation, Su Han activated the formation on the Thunder Light Treasure Ship. He then sat cross-legged, and his consciousness once again entered the Prison Divine Palace.
The Prison Divine Palace was immutable, a timeless space that might have been real or perhaps just a construct of consciousness.
At this moment, a brilliant Divine Light bloomed within the Prison Divine Palace, flooding it with endless radiance. This Divine Light was primarily white but contained a touch of black, a fusion that symbolized the harmony of Yin and Yang.
"May I ask, young friend, where is this place?" A gentle voice spoke near Su Han's ear, washing over him like a spring breeze, brimming with goodwill.
An old Daoist dressed in a Yin Yang robe stood there, regarding Su Han with kind, benevolent eyes. He seemed utterly different from the previous godfiends, more like a truly compassionate sage.
But Su Han did not answer. Instead, he remained vigilant. Anything this out of the ordinary must be a trick. He did not believe for a moment that any of the godfiends imprisoned here could be truly benevolent. After all, these were high and mighty godfiends. In their eyes, mortals were no different from ants. A fleeting moment of pity might be possible for them, but not in a situation like this. He even noticed the gentle voice seemed to be melting his Dao Heart. Subconsciously, he was starting to see the old Daoist as a good person—someone to trust, to get close to, to whom he could reveal all his secrets. Such a person is terrifyingly dangerous.
Su Han dared not underestimate any godfiend. Without wasting another word, he attacked.
"Golden Emperor Tanyang Fist!"
He clenched his fists. Both of his hands, having already been tempered into the Great Luo Golden Bone, could unleash the formidable Golden Emperor Tanyang Fist. As he thrust both fists forward, the Golden Emperor Phantom solidified, emanating an inviolable majesty that threatened to suppress the very heavens. Two golden Fist Blazes shot out from his knuckles. They blazed like twin suns, powerful enough to destroy anything in their path.
Yet the old Daoist stood his ground, neither dodging nor evading. The kindly smile never left his face, as if he meant to move Su Han with a display of ultimate self-sacrifice.
But just as Su Han's fists were about to land, ripples spread from the old Daoist's body, and he transformed into the image of Lu Yunxian.
"Little Han!"
The voice was identical, coming from a face and figure so achingly familiar.
In that instant, Su Han's Heart Spirit wavered. He wrenched his Golden Emperor Tanyang Fist to a halt mid-strike, but the abrupt stop inflicted a severe backlash. He was thrown backward, his face turning pale as his Aura plummeted.
Su Han ignored his injuries. His pupils constricted as he stared intently at the Lu Yunxian before him. Reason tells me this is fake. Fairy Sister Yun Xian could never appear here. And yet… she's so lifelike, identical to my memories of her.
"Little Han, will you let me out, please?" this Lu Yunxian pleaded. Her voice was so plaintive and pitiful it would stir pity in anyone's heart. No man could refuse such a request, least of all Su Han, for whom she was his most important family.
"No! You're fake!" Su Han shook his head violently. His face was pale, his will already starting to waver.
"Little Han, how could I be fake? Have you forgotten? When your Dragon Soul was stolen, I was the one who gave you my blood," the false Lu Yunxian continued. Her words hammered at Su Han's mind, carrying a special quality that was impossible to refuse or resist, twisting his expression with agony.
Reason screamed that the Lu Yunxian before him was a fake, a mere illusion conjured by the old Daoist. But his heart urged him to save Fairy Sister Yun Xian, to protect her from any hint of harm.
"You're a fake! You are not Fairy Sister Yun Xian! I'll kill you for daring to take her form to deceive me!"
Su Han gritted his teeth and instantly activated his Ice-Fire Tempering technique, using the searing pain to maintain his sanity. Gripping his Black Blade tightly, he slashed at the Lu Yunxian before him.
Her expression remained unchanged. She simply stared back at Su Han with wide, innocent eyes, as if truly waiting for death. The sight shook his Heart Spirit, and he almost retracted the blade.
But at the critical moment, he remembered how Fairy Sister Yun Xian had protected him time and again. The real one would never be this passive and helpless.
"Heaven and Earth Slash!"
Hardening his heart, Su Han squeezed his eyes shut and poured every ounce of his Demonic Qi into the Black Blade, unleashing his strongest attack.
"Little Han, you're so cruel!"
Lu Yunxian's despairing cry reached him, shaking his Heart Spirit. He almost faltered again, but he clenched his jaw and held firm, bringing the blade down and splitting the old Daoist in two.
Without hesitation, Su Han unleashed the Devouring Heaven Demonic Art to consume and refine the old Daoist. He kept his eyes shut the entire time, unable to bear the sight. Even knowing it was a fake, he refused to let the memory of killing Fairy Sister Yun Xian take root in his mind.
The old Daoist had clearly not expected Su Han to break through his ploy so decisively and so had perished without using any other Divine Arts.
PANT… PANT…
Soon, the old Daoist was completely devoured. Su Han's face was pale as he gasped for breath. This battle had been more arduous than any physical fight.
He never wanted to fight Fairy Sister Yun Xian—not even a fake one. He simply could not bear it. She was his greatest vulnerability, but he did not care. Fairy Sister Yun Xian was his only family and his ultimate trigger.
And now, through the process of consumption and Refinement, Su Han obtained the old Daoist's memories and inheritance. Among them was a Divine Method known as Thousand Changes and Transformations.
This method allowed one to transform into anything. It had four realms: Human Transformation, Object Transformation, Form Transformation, and All-Creation Transformation.
Although the battle had been perilous, the rewards were immense. This Divine Method was perfectly suited for Su Han's plan to infiltrate the Heavenly Demon Cult's stronghold.
「Meanwhile, he had finally reached the Poisonous Miasma Swamp!」
