Fate-Defying Demon Emperor-Chapter 214: Thousand Changes and Transformations
At this time, everyone was focused on the great battle between the Heavenly Demon Cult and the Seven Stars Sect, which was a good thing for Su Han. He summoned the Thunder Light Treasure Ship and sailed directly into Mozhou, heading straight for the Poisonous Miasma Swamp, the Heavenly Demon Cult’s base.
Although Mozhou bordered Qingzhou, its culture and people were completely different. After all, the Seven Stars Sect was known as a righteous sect, while the Heavenly Demon Cult followed a truly demonic path.
In Mozhou, the law of the jungle—survival of the fittest—prevailed. This was true for ordinary people and Martial Artists alike. The weak groveled before the strong, begging for protection or favors, while the strong killed and plundered at will, roaming without restraint.
Of course, the greatest overlord in Mozhou was still the Heavenly Demon Cult. Any Martial Artist or faction that encountered members of the Heavenly Demon Cult had to bow their heads.
Piloting the Thunder Light Treasure Ship, Su Han encountered a few bands of robbers intent on murder and robbery. Unfortunately for them, they chose the wrong prey. Not only did their robbery fail, but Su Han cut them down one by one, resulting in a small gain for himself.
Su Han couldn’t be bothered to waste words on them. After killing the robbers and taking their loot, he continued straight for the Poisonous Miasma Swamp, as he didn’t have much time.
"Hmm?"
Su Han’s Heart Spirit stirred. He looked down at the Bronze Ring; the spirit-god corresponding to the Stellar Magnetism Primordial Body, the old Daoist, had finally awakened.
Without hesitation, Su Han activated the formation on the Thunder Light Treasure Ship. He then sat cross-legged, his consciousness entering the Prison Divine Palace once again.
The Prison Divine Palace was eternally unchanging. It was impossible to know if this space truly existed or was merely a construct of consciousness.
At that moment, brilliant Divine Light bloomed within the Prison Divine Palace, filling it with infinite radiance. The light was primarily white but contained a touch of black—a fusion of black and white, a balance of Yin and Yang.
"May I ask, young friend, what is this place?" a gentle voice rang in Su Han’s ears. It felt like a spring breeze, filled with goodwill.
An old Daoist in a Yin Yang robe was looking at Su Han. His eyes were kind and benevolent, his face gentle. He was completely different from the previous spirit-gods, appearing as a truly compassionate man.
But Su Han didn’t answer, remaining vigilant instead. He knew the saying: where there is abnormality, there must be a demon. He refused to believe that any of the spirit-gods imprisoned here were truly good. After all, these were lofty spirit-gods. In their eyes, mortals were no different from ants. They might show a flicker of pity on occasion, but certainly not in a situation like this.
Moreover, he found the gentle voice so persuasive it felt like it could melt his very Dao Heart. A part of him subconsciously began to believe this old Daoist was a good person—someone trustworthy and approachable, to whom he could reveal all his secrets.
Such a person is terrifying. Su Han dared not underestimate any spirit-god, so he wasted no more words and attacked.
"Golden Emperor Tanyang Fist!"
He clenched his fists. Both his hands had long since been tempered by Ice-Fire into Great Luo Golden Bones, and each could unleash the mighty Golden Emperor Tanyang Fist. As both fists shot out, the Golden Emperor Phantom behind him grew more solid, radiating an inviolable majesty that could suppress the heavens. The golden Fist Blaze from his attack shot forward like two suns, powerful enough to destroy everything in its path.
Yet the old Daoist simply stood his ground, neither dodging nor evading. He still wore that gentle smile, as if he intended to reform Su Han through his own sacrifice.
However, just as Su Han’s fists were about to strike, ripples spread swiftly around the Daoist, and he transformed into the image of Lu Yunxian.
"Little Han!"
The familiar face, the familiar figure, even the voice was exactly the same.
In that instant, Su Han’s Heart Spirit wavered. He abruptly retracted his fists, forcibly halting the Golden Emperor Tanyang Fist. The move caused a severe backlash, sending him flying backward. His face turned pale, and his aura plummeted.
Su Han had no time to worry about his injuries. His pupils contracted as he stared fixedly at the Lu Yunxian before him. Reason told him it was a fake—Fairy Sister Yun Xian couldn’t possibly be here—but this version was too lifelike, identical to the one in his memory.
"Little Han, please, will you let me out?" this Lu Yunxian spoke again. Her voice was a sorrowful plea, so pitiful that any man would find it impossible to refuse her, let alone Su Han—she was his most important family.
"No! You’re a fake!" Su Han shook his head vigorously, but his face was pale, his will already starting to falter. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"Little Han, how could I be fake? Don’t you remember when your Dragon Soul was stolen, and I gave you my blood?" This Lu Yunxian continued to speak, each word a hammer blow to Su Han’s heart. Her words carried a special, irresistible power that made an expression of pain cross his face.
Reason told him the Lu Yunxian before him was a fake, undoubtedly a trick by the old Daoist. But his heart screamed at him to save Fairy Sister Yun Xian, to protect her from any hint of harm.
"You’re a fake! You’re not Fairy Sister Yun Xian! You dare take her form to deceive me? I’ll kill you!" Su Han gritted his teeth and activated his Ice-Fire Tempering technique, using the intense pain to stay rational. He gripped the Black Blade and slashed viciously at the figure of Lu Yunxian.
The fake Lu Yunxian’s expression didn’t change. She simply watched Su Han with wide, innocent eyes, as if truly waiting for death. The sight made Su Han’s Heart Spirit tremble, and he almost lowered his blade. But at the critical moment, he remembered how Fairy Sister Yun Xian had protected him time and time again. The real woman he knew would never be as helpless as this fake before him.
"Heaven and Earth Slash!"
Hardening his heart, Su Han closed his eyes, channeled all his Demonic Qi into the Black Blade, and unleashed his strongest slash.
"Little Han, you’re so ruthless!"
Lu Yunxian’s despairing voice echoed, shaking Su Han’s Heart Spirit to its core. He almost faltered again, but he gritted his teeth and held firm, completing the slash. The blade cleaved the old Daoist in two.
"Devouring Heaven Demonic Art!"
Without hesitation, Su Han executed the art to consume and refine the old Daoist. He kept his eyes squeezed shut the entire time, not daring to witness the being’s tragic death. Even knowing it was an illusion, Su Han refused to create a memory of himself killing Fairy Sister Yun Xian.
The old Daoist had clearly not expected Su Han to overcome his ploy so decisively. As a result, he perished without a chance to use any of his other Divine Arts.
Soon, the old Daoist was completely devoured. Su Han was pale and gasping for air; this battle had been more draining than any physical fight.
He never wanted to face Fairy Sister Yun Xian in battle, even a fake one. He simply couldn’t accept it. This was his greatest vulnerability, but he didn’t care. Fairy Sister Yun Xian was his only family and the one person he would protect above all else.
Through the consumption and refinement, Su Han obtained the old Daoist’s memories and legacy, including a Divine Method called "Thousand Changes and Transformations." This method allowed one to transform into anything and simulate everything. It was divided into four layers: Transforming into Humans, Transforming into Objects, Transforming into Forms, and Transforming into All Things!
Though the battle was perilous, the reward was monumental. This Divine Method was perfectly suited for Su Han’s plan to infiltrate the Heavenly Demon Cult’s stronghold. Meanwhile, the Poisonous Miasma Swamp finally came into view.
