Farming with Entries: From Lord to Emperor-Chapter 618 - 301: The Disappearance of Miss Wizard
...
...
Salido's denial instantly stirred a trace of anger in Lusen's heart.
The Dawn Society attaches great importance to their research achievements.
Yet, Salido dismissed them without a glance, belittling their words as worthless.
This was extreme contempt for the Dawn Society.
Lusen stood up straight, intending to speak, but Leon interrupted first,
"Bishop Salido, I've commanded and participated in dozens of battles, and experience tells me it's best not to underestimate the enemy."
Leon looked serious, his tone carrying a touch of authority,
"I think you should take this seriously, as it affects our Emperor's impression of you."
Leon's words made Salido frown slightly, and a hint of displeasure appeared on his already wrinkled face.
If this were in the Land of the Gods, such questioning of Divine Power would surely be judged.
But unfortunately, this is the Broken Rock Empire.
So Salido remained silent for a moment, then a faint smile appeared on his face,
"Since Lord Leon says so, I will take it seriously."
Salido looked at Lusen, "Then please hand over the Dawn Society's research data to me."
Salido still had a smile on his face.
But in Lusen's eyes, it was all arrogance and disdain.
Lusen did not show his anger, instead, a faint smile appeared at the corner of his mouth as he turned to Leon,
"Perhaps Bishop Salido is right, and the Holy Council indeed has weapons to deal with the undead."
Lusen slowly stood up,
"We can let Bishop Salido try it first."
"Lusen, you..."
Leon wanted to say something but was interrupted by Lusen.
"I have other matters to attend to, so I'll leave for now."
With that, Lusen nodded in salute, turned around, and left the tent without waiting for Leon to speak.
Salido watched Lusen's back, chuckling and shaking his head, "The Dawn Society is like this, rude and arrogant, lacking any manners."
"Speaking ill of others behind their back is not a noble act either, Bishop Salido."
Leon glanced at Salido, his tone slightly cold,
"Since Bishop Salido finds the undead easy to deal with, please quickly investigate who took the Knight's corpse."
...
...
Lusen slowly walked back to his tent, the smile on his face already vanished, replaced with some gravity.
Despite trying hard to convince himself, Lusen still detested sitting with the Church.
The right decision would have been to cooperate with Salido, but seeing that hypocritical face, Lusen couldn't help but feel disgusted.
"If they can really easily eliminate the undead issue, then we need to plan ahead."
Lusen thought to himself, reaching out to lift the tent curtain.
Just then, a hurried footstep came from outside.
"Lord Lusen! Lord Lusen!"
A young soldier ran over, out of breath!
"What's wrong, Corey?"
Lusen immediately put down the curtain, turned around, eyes fixed on Corey.
Corey tried to adjust his breathing, attempting to make his words clearer,
"My lord, urgent news from Blood Crow Castle!"
"Miss Zhuo Ya is missing!"
"What happened?"
Lusen frowned, staring wide-eyed,
"What happened? Speak slowly!"
Corey took a deep breath and reported in detail,
"Our personnel stationed at Blood Crow Castle found that Miss Zhuo Ya has not been seen for a whole day!"
"Our people knocked on her room door with no response, and in a panic broke down the door, only to find she wasn't in the room!"
"Could she have gone to her father, Baron Harun?"
Lusen frowned as he asked.
"Baron Harun left the day before yesterday escorting food!"
The soldier's words made Lusen's heart tighten instantly, nervously clenching his fists.
"Deploy all our people to search, search every inch around Blood Crow Castle!"
"Yes, my lord!"
The soldier nodded solemnly, quickly leaving to execute Lusen's orders.
Lusen stood alone in front of the tent, falling into deep thought.
Zhuo Ya's disappearance coincided precisely with his meeting with the Holy Council.
"Could it be that Zhuo Ya was taken by Salido's people?"
Thinking it over, Lusen found this the most likely scenario.
Without much hesitation, Lusen quickly headed for Leon's tent.
Seeing Lusen hurrying over, the guards immediately stepped up to inquire.
"Lord Lusen, Lord Commander is resting, please wait."
"I have an emergency that requires seeing the Lord Commander immediately."
Lusen's expression was serious, "Please report it."
"Sorry, Lord Lusen..."
"Please let Lord Lusen in."
Leon's voice came from inside the tent.
The soldier, receiving the order, immediately stepped aside.
"Thank you."
Lusen lifted the tent curtain and strode inside.
Leon sat up from the bed, seeing Lusen's anxious appearance,
"What happened?"
Leon's tone was filled with concern and alertness.
Lusen was straightforward, cutting straight to the point,
"Zhuo Ya is missing!"
"Zhuo Ya?"
Leon frowned, quickly recalling that Zhuo Ya was the Miss Wizard helping to research and combat the undead.
Leon suddenly stood up, asking, "Do you think this has something to do with Salido?"
As a Commander, Leon naturally had wisdom surpassing most people.
Without needing a reminder, Leon realized the key issue.
Lusen did not hide anything, silently nodding.
"I'll immediately send someone to investigate!"
Leon quickly stepped out of the tent, whispering orders to a guard, who swiftly ran off.
"Stay here and wait, Lusen."
Leon turned around, walking to Lusen's side, "Rest assured, if it involves the Holy Council, I will not let Miss Zhuo Ya come to harm!"
