The day training has finally come to an end, and Mystic has been finally able to help all six of his players who had reached their talent cap evolve to the next tier and add their bonus attribute points also to where he felt they needed or was lacking on the most and which would be beneficiary to the team.
After reviewing all their new attributes, he felt a deep sense of satisfaction, then decided to check the updated talent tables.

With that, each newly evolved player was added to the Uncommon bracket, as the system had clearly reorganized the roster, neatly listing everyone under their proper talent tier.
After confirming the changes, Mystic turned to review the progress logs for those who trained during the day.

After reviewing everything, Mystic couldn’t help feeling more relieved; even though they earned only half the experience they would have gained if he’d overseen training himself, and he was feeling this way because he had just solved a major issue for six players, and he didn’t regret the trade-off one bit.
So, to him, it was a win no matter how he looked at it, and he was finally ready to rest; the fixture table for the street competition would arrive the next day.
Though the players were scheduled to come in for training the next day, however; he had plans to surprise them with a day off, and having the team hangout in the afternoon, followed by them all watching an underground match at night, before their first official fixture the day after .
–
The next day came quickly, and while the Dark Elites players were getting ready for their first match, the coach of Bariga YB had just walked in the club president’s office to collect the fixtures and identify their next opponent, so he could better prepare his team.
But as he scanned the list, he froze, staring in surprise at one particular name that had made it into the Street Championships participating teams lineup.
He could hardly believe his eyes, his team had clearly played against the Dark Elites, and based on the level they had shown him that day, he really believed they shouldn’t have reached a stage where they could even pass the preliminary matches.
He found it hard to accept that they would even be participating at all.
“Boss, there is a particular team here ....” the coach began, but he hadn’t finished before the president—whose chair was facing the glass wall that overlooked the training pitch raised his right hand to stop him.
“I know what you’re about to talk about,” the man said, leaving the coach wondering how the president already knew his question.
Before he could say another word, the president’s chair rotated, and he was now facing him directly.
“I’m sure you’re surprised that the Dark Elites from the Shomolu region managed to get into the Street Competition,” the president said, waiting for his words to sink in first, shocking the coach further; as he hadn’t expected the president to read his thoughts so precisely.
“Don’t think I’m unaware of the little shenanigans at my club—and with Mystic showing up to demand a friendly between both teams in exchange for his silence about me ‘stealing’ the only star player his late father has left behind for his team,” the president added.
The coach’s eyes widened, he had tried to keep the friendly under wraps; as the president’s role in helping the club acquire Adekunle already skirted rules that could hurt them.
He hadn’t wanted the president getting involved again, especially when he felt it was a petty issue, but it now seemed that while he’d been scrambling to cover everything up, the president had known all along—and simply played a silent game.
“And fortunately for you, while you were busy not watching your enemy and getting comfortable, I did a little digging of my own and found a few things.”
“First of all, they qualified for the competition without taking the preliminaries, they were granted a direct quota, just like us—which, for a returning club, is quite surprising,” the president explained, pausing to let the coach process the implication.
“I can’t believe this!” the coach blurted out.
“Well, you’d better. At first, I was skeptical about how it happened, but it did, so I dug a little deeper and found a few things I didn’t expect.”
“The Dark Elites participate in underground football matches,” the president finally revealed, dropping the bomb, as the coach gasped, with an even greater shock spreading across his face.
