False Villain : Anunnaki System vs Demon Contract-Chapter 65 - 062. Lana’s Choice.
Chapter 65: 062. Lana’s Choice.
"What kind of ritual are you talking about, dad?!" shouted Reizel who immediately approached Herman after laying Lana down on an old mattress.
Herman didn’t even flinch and looked into his son’s eyes as if there was no burden at all.
"Reizel, do you know the current condition?" Herman asked so easily.
The question made Reizel even more emotional. "We’re in a dangerous situation and you’re sacrificing Lana? Your own daughter?!"
Herman sighed. "I only made a contract that makes us recognized by the kalomba king and be given some powerful ability in exchange."
Reizel ran out of patience as there was not a single reason that justified Lana’s suffering.
The wavy-haired man grabbed his father by the collar and pushed him against the wall. "You sacrificed Lana for that?"
Herman looked at Reizel so seriously. "This is what Lana wanted, she asked for it herself, it can help us, the people who didn’t get the power system whatever it’s called. This is a chance for ordinary people like us to not be enslaved. Do you think you can survive and fight against those system users as an ordinary human?"
Reizel could not answer. H could only turn his face away as he remembered Lana’s words about how much she feared and hated the system users.
Can’t fight back? Of course he could, there is a possibility but Reizel couldn’t tell his sister that he was a system user.
Reizel let go of his father and stepped back.
Herman fixed his collar. "Anyway, Lana won’t die. She just lacks energy. Feed her, and everything will be fine."
"But what to eat? We don’t even have anything and we live in a place like this!" said Reizel, who was very frustrated with his situation.
Herman walked out. "Wait until the evening. Tonight, everything will change."
While Reizel was still dizzy with his problems, Lana suddenly woke up.
The little girl opened her eyes and looked at her brother while giving a faint smile with her pale lips.
Reizel couldn’t help but feel sad and hugged Lana tightly.
"Are you okay, Lana?" asked Reizel who tried to hold back his tears.
Lana chuckled instead. "Hehe... I’m good."
Reizel looked at her sister’s face who looked so happy. "Do you know what you’re doing? The ritual I’m talking about?"
Lana lowered her face slightly. "Dad said it’s a way for us to fight the system users."
"But Lana -"
Lana looked at Reizel’s panicked face. Lana’s gaze was so serious as if there was no doubt behind those eyes. "I’m a hero! I’m a hero who can give power to ordinary people, hehe..."
Reizel fell silent while looking at her sister who was now smiling happily.
"Hehe... We can defeat the evil system users," Lana said with such optimism.
A single tear fell from Reizel’s eyes and the man immediately hugged his little sister while sobbing slightly.
Honestly, Reizel didn’t know what else to do. He had no power or ability to refute his father’s statement and he also couldn’t tell Lana that he was a system user.
He was stuck with a dilemma and a situation without hope and choice. He could only hug Lana while shedding tears and feeling sorry for himself.
After a few hours passed, the bright sky turned into a dark sky and that’s when Herman started his plan.
Herman approached Reizel who was sitting next to the bed that Lana was sleeping on.
"Reizel, take Lana in your arms. We’re going to a better place than this," Herman said.
Reizel who was still shrouded in worry and doubt could only stare at his father for a few moments before finally obeying his father’s words.
Reizel immediately carried Lana on his back. Although Lana woke up briefly, the little girl fell back asleep the moment she realized she was being carried by her brother.
Feeling safe with the situation, Lana hugged her brother tightly and went back to sleep.
Herman led Reizel to a place that Reizel himself did not know.
But there was one thing Reizel knew, there were some abilities that his father didn’t seem to tell him...
It was night time when civilization was slowly collapsing. There was no lighting and no source of illumination anymore. But strangely, Reizel could see clearly in the darkness.
No, it wasn’t the power of the system. Whatever it was, it was at least related to the results of the ritual his father had talked about earlier.
The journey was a bit far and they had probably walked for about 2 hours more. Reizel was getting tired but Herman kept walking.
After a while, Reizel saw a light source that seemed to come from a campfire in the middle of a small village.
"Reizel, wait here," said Herman who immediately walked to the village.
Reizel stayed where he was, but when his father left them, the wavy-haired man felt something that gave him goosebumps.
He swallowed his own saliva and for a moment, Reizel could see it...
A large shadowy figure that followed his father from behind.
Herman walked out of the dark bushes and found a group of villagers who were suddenly staring at him with great alarm.
The villagers suddenly picked up their machetes without taking their eyes off Herman.
Herman smiled. "Good evening, good people... I have something to offer you."
One of the villagers pointed his machete at Herman. "Are you one of those strange power user?"
Herman smiled. "No, of course not. I’m not part of those people, I’m just an ordinary person. But I can help you fight them."
"Too bad, we don’t need your help. We’re sorry, but we can’t accept strangers in our group," one replied.
"But I can really help you."
"Really? What can you do?"
"I can help you to kill the users of the system."
"please, don’t joke around. They’re impossible to fight. We just want to hide here."
"But I really have the ability to do so."
"Stop talking nonsense and go."
"Of course I only ask you to submit to me."
Some residents were visibly angered by Herman’s statement and immediately approached the old man while brandishing machetes at him.
"You arrogant bastard! Talking too much! Shut up!" shouted one of the men who ran towards Herman and tried to slash him.
But before the man could slash Herman, the ground shook slightly as if a group of elephants were approaching.
Everyone looked worried except Herman who looked so calm.
From the shadows, several kalomba suddenly appeared and crashed into everyone.
Everyone immediately panicked. Houses hit by kalomba were damaged and even collapsing, people hit by kalomba were thrown far away as if they had just been hit by a train.
People try to fight back, but everyone hit by a kalomba is thrown far away and dies after their bodies hit a tree or a house. If anyone didn’t die in one hit, at least they would be badly injured and would be hit again by another kalomba.
Herman raised his hand up and all the kalomba suddenly stopped moving. The kalomba then walked away from the light source as if disappearing into the darkness.
All the survivors looked at Herman. But what frightened them was the large black shadowy figure standing behind him.
They didn’t know what it was and were too afraid to ask.
They just resigned themselves and bowed their heads and accepted their fate.
Herman grinned.
