Chapter 52: 049. "The Best Deal For You, Johan."
"Alright, Ignoir, Reizel, help them. Putri and I will wait here," Aril said swiftly.
"Eh? Wait a minute. You mean you won’t help us yourself?" asked a surprised Johan.
"Eh? Didn’t we promise to help them?" Putri interjected with a disappointed expression. freēnovelkiss.com
Aril took a deep breath and exhaled. "I told you, I’m not ready for such a serious fight. The best thing I can give you is to lend the two of them. And if you manage to get your niece, and make it back here, I’ll at least help you to escort you away from this city."
"Eh?! But it’s still dangerous. What can they do?!" Asked Putri who looked worried.
"Of course it’s a risky course of action, you might lose some of your subordinates before you can return here and they might still pursue. But I’ll make sure, I’ll help you as much as I can when you get back here," said Aril with confidence.
Johan was silent and contemplated the options Aril had given him while Zaskia and Ardi looked panicked.
"Wait a minute, what do you mean by (lose some subordinates)?" Asked Zaskia who was sweating coldly.
"Uh... Well... Will someone die?" Ardi stammered in his nervousness.
Galih sighed. "Forget it, I’m not coming."
Johan walked over to Galih and immediately knelt down. "Please! If you can’t do it for me, can you do it for that scared little innocent girl over there?"
Galih initially didn’t want to get involved after knowing Aril wouldn’t help directly, but seeing Johan’s pleading and touching reasoning, Galih’s heart was touched and his stance finally wavered.
Galih sighed heavily once more. "Alright, I’ll come along. But there’s one thing you have to remember. I don’t care who has to be sacrificed later, but one thing is for sure, it won’t be me."
"Deal!" said Johan firmly.
Farel immediately walk towards Galih while chuckling. "In the end you wanted to. I thought you were scared."
"Shut up, I’m still a human who still has a heart," Galih retorted.
Johan stood up and looked at Aril. "I’ll take that offer."
Reizel sighed heavily. "Why do I have to come?"
Aril glanced at the wavy-haired man. "Do I need to explain? I think you understand why you should come yourself."
Reizel understood Aril’s meaning very well. Although Aril himself did not know the details of Reizel’s past, but at least the young man understood that Reizel had a certain connection with the people who kidnapped Jessica.
And Reizel could not evade, Aril did not allow him to evade.
After the instructions were given, Aril wanted to go back inside the house to rest, but the young man was instead greeted by an annoyed-looking Putri with both cheeks puffed up and both arms crossed under her chest.
A gaze that looked fiery with both eyebrows lowered.
"What’s wrong?" asked Aril.
Putri did not answer and only stared at Aril sharply.
Aril didn’t respond and suddenly she kicked Aril’s leg very hard and made the young man lie on the ground.
"What are you doing?!" shouted Aril who was holding his leg in pain.
Putri didn’t answer, she just turned around and entered the house while stomping her feet.

Inside his modest room, Aril lay on the mattress while staring at the ceiling.
Not long after, Reizel knocked on the door that had not been closed since the beginning.
"Aril, we will be leaving soon. Are you sure this is the right decision?" asked Reizel who only stood at the door and did not step into Aril’s room.
"Do you want to protest? If you’re not sure you can survive, make sure you always stay near Ignoir. Remember, we’re only helping them, not sacrificing for them," Aril replied swiftly.
"That’s not what I meant, you don’t mind waiting here with Putri?"
"This is the best decision. She might hate this decision, but she’ll live. And that’s all that matters."
"That’s why you don’t mind sending me and Ignoir even though there’s a chance we won’t return safely, right? If we succeed, Johan will owe you, and if we fail, you have nothing to lose."
Aril did not answer, he just silently stared at the ceiling.
Reizel paused for a moment then sighed heavily, "What a selfish and cunning decision."
The wavy-haired man turned around and walked away.
’Sacrificing everything for a loved one,’ thought Reizel who briefly imagined the face of a smiling little girl.
"I’d probably do the same," Reizel muttered in a tone so low it was as if he was whispering.
Johan’s vehicle left the house and Aril sighed heavily before standing up and walking to Putri’s room which was locked tightly.
Aril knocked on the door. "Putri, are you still angry?"
"HMNNP!!!" the response from inside the room was followed by the sound of a pillow hitting the door, as if to say for Aril to go away.
The young man could only sigh and resign himself to the situation. "I told you, right? They will be helped. And that’s the best thing I can give them."
*THUMP!
Another pillow was thrown at the door and Aril decided to give up. He walked into the living room and lay down on the sofa while staring at the ceiling.

A jeep drove through the dead-looking city. On top of the jeep, Reizel and Ignoir were sitting casually. Both of them didn’t seem to mind and thanks to their physical strength, they could sit on top of the moving car without worrying about falling.
Inside the car, Johan was driving with a very focused gaze and beside him was Farel who was sitting casually and leaning his hand to the wide open window.
"Are you guys okay up there?" asked Farel who poked his head through the window and looked up.
"It’s okay, it’s not a problem if the speed is only like this," replied Reizel who seemed unperturbed by the wind.
"Woah! Lots of cars!" shouted Ignoir who was only focused on the things around them.
In the back seat of the car, sat the remaining 3 people. 2 males and 1 female.
"You don’t have to worry about that wolf girl, even though she looks small and petite, she’s a very powerful monster," said Galih who was sitting behind Johan.
"Eh... Anu... Is this really okay? I’m a little worried about this plan," said Ardi who was sitting in the middle.
"Don’t worry, if this plan goes well, no one needs to die," said Putri who was sitting behind Farel.
