While thinking about various things, Jareth meditated and used his powerful mana control to easily digest all the mana he got from the high-grade mana potion.
He didn’t let even a little bit of mana go to waste and replenished his mana to full.
Then he relaxed his mind and cast the ’rational mind’ spell on himself once again, as the previous one was already losing its effects due to constant mental assaults coming his way.

Jareth didn’t waste too much time resting, as he was short on time; he only took a brief moment of rest because he needed to replenish his mana and relax his tensed mind for a bit.
He had been walking through that massive forest and had climbed several smaller hills before climbing the massive mountaintop.
Only then did he manage to reach here with great difficulty; all that burden had caused his mind to remain in a tensed state for a long time.
Now that he has relaxed enough, he can move forward again.
Jareth got up from the boulder and stepped forward with steady steps again.

Jareth could have cast more buffs on himself but he was saving mana so he only cast those that were important.

As stated before, the glowing mana orb spell can influence the light elementals a little bit, so it’s possible to purify and deal with miasma using this spell.
Jareth was doing exactly that; he made the orb big enough that its glow could purify and suppress miasma and darkness in a 100-meter radius of him.

Jareth’s footsteps fell on the corrupted barren sand and started to echo in the area loudly as if Jareth had entered a closed space, not an open field.
The more he moved towards the hills, spreading far and wide into the distance, the more eerie the area became.
The clouds became darker in the sky, sunlight got blocked completely, and only the glow from his glowing mana orb could illuminate the path forward as everything around him slowly became darker and darker.
The entire area became pitch black as if a moonless night had descended on this whole area.
Jareth stayed on the narrow stone path leading forward and used the glowing orb to navigate forward.
His mana detection spread out in all directions, and his mana shield worked at full capacity.

Extremely loud, beastly sounds rang out in Jareth’s ears as he kept moving forward.
The ground started trembling, and Jareth noticed many loud roaring noises coming from various directions.
’And so it begins... the real challenge of the wailing hills...’
Up until now, whichever monster that Jareth fought with had been due to a random encounter.
He was keeping his mana detection range closed, and meeting monsters was just due to sheer coincidence and chance.
But now, Jareth has his mana detection working at full capacity not because he wants to avoid the monsters, but because he knows that he can’t avoid them anymore.
The terrifying loud roars kept appearing one after another as if hundreds of monsters had gathered in this same place, and their number was increasing with each passing second.
Jareth could now see strange blue flames glowing in every direction, and many of them were rushing towards him at full force.
The narrow path led Jareth down the mountain.
Unlike climbing the mountain, it didn’t take him long to go down, as everything around was just barren land with no obstacles like the demonic trees or anything else.
He reached a small hill nearby, and this time the narrow path went around the hill instead of over it, which meant he didn’t need to climb it.
And why he didn’t need to climb it also became known soon after.

The entire hill fell apart; dust, sand, and boulders corrupted with miasma flew away in every direction as a gigantic skeleton made its way out of the hill by breaking it apart.
Its both eyes were glowing with blue flames, and it was lacking one leg. That massive skeleton carried a powerful aura, which was equal to a grade-2 knight. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
All the bones in its body were covered in thick miasma, which was actually enhancing the power of that huge monstrosity.
’Quite a grand entrance... that should be what the cutscene in the game showed...’
In the game, when you encounter a boss or a new exciting plot twist, you always get a cutscene.
It was similar here too; the moment you reach this hill in the game, you trigger a cutscene where this skeleton crawls out of the ground as your character stares at it in astonishment and shock.
Jareth already knew this was going to happen, so he wasn’t shocked; instead, he was ready for the fight.
He had already cast necessary buffs on himself when he was making his way down the mountain.
In the previous places, he could still avoid a battle using tricks and tactics, but here, a battle is unavoidable.
Jareth brought out the condensed fire crystals that was now corrupted with miasma from his space ring.
This was one of the crystals he had used to cross the entire forest of hatred, and it was now in a very unstable state, as it was heavily corrupted with miasma.

Jareth messed up with the mana in the fire crystal and threw it at the giant monstrosity.

A massive explosion occurred as the fire crystal blew apart the moment it came in contact with the giant skeleton.
The powerful explosion was boosted with Jareth’s mana and thus spread at a massive scale using the fire elementals and miasma inside as fuel.
The entire giant skeleton burst apart and shattered into pieces while a powerful shockwave spread in every direction, blowing away quite a few of the skeleton giants that were rushing towards Jareth.
’Hehe, I am just getting started! It’s party time!’
Jareth brought out the rest of the fire crystals corrupted with miasma and threw them like he was throwing grenades at his enemies.
*BOOOM!!!* *BOOOM!!*
A powerful explosion illuminated the dark environment, and Jareth finally got a proper glance at everything around him.
As he had known from the beginning, all the hills that were stretching far and wide till the horizon were actually just these giant skeletons that were buried under sand and rubble.
They had been sleeping for a long time, and only when Jareth made it to this place did they wake up to confront him.
This entire area was a hidden trap meant to surprise and kill whoever tries to step in this place.
