Fake Marriage To The Richest Tycoon-Chapter 125: The plane crashed
Chapter 125: Chapter 125: The plane crashed
Xu Meng wanted to say something, but Qin Zhuzhu stood up.
"Xu Meng, can I speak to you in private?" Her tone was still cold and aloof.
"Okay. Qianhua, go sit at our table," Xu Meng said, turning to Bai Qianhua.
Qin Zhuzhu noticed Bai Qianhua’s purse on the table next to theirs. It was quite a coincidence that Xu Meng’s table was near theirs!
"But I want to accompany you, Brother Xu," Bai Qianhua said, putting on a pitiful and coquettish look. She pouted her lips slightly.
Sanya wanted to laugh at her exaggerated expression. Don’t men find it annoying?
"It won’t take long. Just wait for the waiters to come and take our orders. Help me order too," he said gently, rejecting her request, and walked away with Qin Zhuzhu.
Bai Qianhua clenched her fists. He hadn’t even asked if she agreed! He didn’t even look at her! She was seething inside.
She glanced to the side and saw Sanya giving her an "I told you so" look. She stomped over to her table and threw herself onto the seat.
The hotpot restaurant was quite large. It was the same one where Qin Zhuzhu had eaten with Shentu Jing. They found a quiet spot with fewer people.
Xu Meng was eager to know what she wanted to say that required privacy.
"Xu Meng, you don’t need to send me the remaining three billion anymore. The relationship between us ended months ago. If this three billion is the only thing keeping us connected, then let me be the one to break it," Qin Zhuzhu said.
Xu Meng was surprised by her words. She doesn’t want her money back? What game is she playing this time? He couldn’t understand her.
Sensing his unspoken question, Qin Zhuzhu spoke again.
"Originally, that five billion yuan could be considered a gift when I married you. I wanted to help you out of that lawsuit, so I used my wealth. Shentu Jing made you return it because of your unfaithfulness and rotten behavior. Since you care so much about your sisters despite the wrong they’ve done, you don’t need to return it. Just take it as a gift from me," she said, her voice devoid of emotion.
The words "unfaithfulness" and "rotten behavior" stung Xu Meng’s heart. It seemed like she really wanted to cut ties with him.
"What about my sisters?" he managed to choke out.
"I’ll ask Shentu Jing to let them go. I hope they learn their lesson and stop bullying people. Take care of yourself and your sisters," Qin Zhuzhu said before walking away.
Watching his ex-wife fade into the distance, Xu Meng felt a strange sensation in his heart. He felt like he had lost something important.
Qin Zhuzhu returned to the table. Sanya was waiting for her.
"So, are we eating here?" Sanya asked, glancing sideways at Bai Qianhua.
"Let’s go. I’ll ask the staff to pack up the food," Qin Zhuzhu said.
When Xu Meng returned to the table, Qin Zhuzhu and Sanya were gone. Bai Qianhua was waiting for him anxiously.
The moment she saw him, she threw herself into his arms.
"Brother Xu!" she cried with an aggrieved look.
"What’s wrong?" Xu Meng asked gently.
Even though he knew Bai Qianhua had done bad things behind his back, he assumed she must have had a reason. So, he hadn’t confronted her about it. But because of her actions, he had become more wary of her.
He had only given her the silent treatment for a few days. Bai Qianhua had personally come to his office, so he had no choice but to accompany her on a date. Truthfully, he wasn’t interested at all. All he could think about was money and the future of Xu Corporation.
"That Sanya scolded me and called me a terrible woman!" she cried in his arms.
"Don’t take it to heart. Sanya has a loose mouth," he comforted her halfheartedly.
Xu Meng looked at the food Bai Qianhua had ordered on his behalf. Somehow, he found it unappetizing and unappealing.
Bai Qianhua noticed that Xu Meng seemed more reserved toward her. What happened? It must be that bitch Qin Zhuzhu who said something to poison his ears. What did they talk about in private?
*******
Qin Zhuzhu invited Sanya to her apartment.
"Not bad. I was expecting you to live in a slum," Sanya said, spinning around and admiring Qin Zhuzhu’s decorations and furnishings.
"Is everything in your eyes that bad, Sanya?" Qin Zhuzhu went to clear her table and then set it with the takeout from the restaurant.
"Everything but you," Sanya laughed. She came over and helped unpack the food.
"Eating hotpot at home isn’t bad either!" Sanya said, dipping her meat into the spicy soup base.
While eating hotpot, Qin Zhuzhu couldn’t help but think of the time when Shentu Jing had first eaten hotpot with her.
Shentu Jing had been very meticulous about how long each ingredient should be cooked. Hotpot had never been more enjoyable with him around. Suddenly, she found that she missed him, missed Shentu Jing.
"Yo, why are you spacing out?"
Qin Zhuzhu was pulled back from her memories when a pair of chopsticks waved in front of her eyes.
"It’s nothing. I’m just thinking about the third round of the test," Qin Zhuzhu said, staring at the spicy soup and thinking of a certain someone who couldn’t stand spicy food but ate it anyway because she liked it.
"Really? Weren’t you so confident?"
Three days later, in the middle of the night, her phone started ringing.
She glanced at the alarm clock on her bedside table and looked at the caller ID.
It was Han Juexian.
Why was he calling her so late?
She picked it up and answered groggily.
"Hello? Ah Xian?"
"B-bad news!" Han Juexian’s panicked voice came through the phone.
"What’s wrong, Ah Xian?" she mumbled sleepily.
"The plane Boss was on... it crashed!"
The phone slipped out of Qin Zhuzhu’s hand.
